Pastel Goth!

Pastels and I have never been friends. In fact I have always hated pastels. When I heard about the "pastel goth" trend I just wrinkled my nose. Pastels. Bluueeh!

Last week I read a blogpost, though, by The Cemetery Dreamer that made me change my mind about the whole pastel goth thing though. :) Pastels can be awesome! Indeed.
I was so inspired by that particular outfit so my mind directly began to conjure a makeup look combining pastels and goth.

This is what I came up with:

The light purple is Wisteria by Makeup Geek, which is a color that I normally use for blending or highlighting purple looks. This time it is the main focus of the look and I think it is lovely combined with black eyeliner. In the crease I've used Cupcake, also by Makeup Geek, which is a muted pale pink that is perfect for blending the purple into the skin.

Arched brows contributes to the gothicness of this look.

And of course, when wearing such a "nice" eye makeup it is only fair to combine it with black lips. :)

The reason why I'm still using them is because I bought them before it came to my knowledge that M.A.C. would become a non-cruelty free brand. I won't however buy any new products by them since animals are more important to me than looking good.

Soon I've completed my first week at my trainee job and I LOVE it! :D I work at a cosmetics counter in a department store, which means meeting a lot of nice people and talk about makeup all day long. It's just awesome!

Anyways, thank you so much for reading and hope to see you soon! :) Have a lovely day!

The Delta Quadrant

First of all; Happy new year to all of you! :) For me, this will be a new of blogging and developing my makeup artist skills.
My new Sugarpill eyeshadows are perfect for creating a space inspired look. Since I have been spending a great deal of time watching a certain science fiction series that takes place in a part of the galaxy called the Delta Quadrant, I figured that I would do a space-inspired look with that name. Bonus points for the ones who can figure out what series it is (without cheating... :P)! ;)

Stella is such a gorgeous eyeshadow! *Drools* Perfect to create a starry sky. :) And of course - as I always say when it comes to glitter looks - it is so much more beautiful in real life.

Sparkle sparkle! :D

I like to combine colorful eye makeup looks with black lips to achieve a more gothic look.

And, last but not least, I'd like to ask you, my dear readers, an important question. What would you like to see more of on my blog during the upcoming year? What improvements could be made?

Thank you so much for reading and hope to see you soon! :)

1 year anniversary!

Today it is one year ago since I started this blog! Yay! :) Therefore, I thought I would utilize this opportunity to thank all of you who read, comment, subscribe and support me in what I do! You are so great, all of you, and I'm so grateful that you take interest in my makeup-art! I never thought a year ago, that I would have gained 325 subscribers within a year. That is big! :)

For this special occasion I thought I'd share with you a look that I like to wear. It is a very gothy look that can be as dark, bright or neutral as you'd like it to be but thanks to the shape of the eye and black eyeliner it always makes me feel goth enough. ;)

The main eyeshadow used for this look is Drama Queen by Makeup Geek (swatch). To enhance the purpleness of this eyeshadow I used Makeup Geek's gel liner in the color Amethyst as a base.

To add even more purple i blended Drama Queen out towards the inner corner using Poison plum by Sugarpill, which is probably my all time favorite purple eyeshadow. Then I used a shadow the same color as my skintone to fade it out even further, and last a pop of shimmery white in the innermost corner.

Black lips... As usual. :)

My first deathhawk with black hair. LOVE it! :D And thanks for all the positive comments you've given me on my new hair! I'm glad to hear you like it. :)

I really don't feel like doing a list of products right now so if you want to know what products I've used besides the ones mentioned in the text, just feel free to ask!

Again, thank you for reading and for your support! Have a nice weekend!

Illamasqua Halloween Face Chart Look 6

Since I've been so obsessed about red eyeshadow lately I couldn't resist to recreate this look from Illamasquas Halloween look face-charts. It's definitely my type of look. :)

I was so inspired by this look that I had to recreate it right away. :) And here is the result!

Unfortunately I haven't got all the Illamasqua products required for this look so I used some Sugarpill and Makeup Geek as well. :3

And what would a Halloween look be without a funny wig? :P

When I put this pic into greyscale I think it turned out very Morticia Addams-y. This is how I would've done the makeup for Morticia Addams. :3 Not red, of course, but grey and black.

Anyway...

Here are the other Illamasqua Halloween face-charts!

Here are the other Illamasqua Halloween looks. :) I don't know why I can't find them via the Illamasqua website, but if you Google them you will most certainly find larger pics of each look. I think I will do Look 3 tomorrow, but I'm very tempted by the pink "blood" tears in Look 4 as well. :3 Which one of these looks are your favorite?

Thank you so much for reading and a heartly welcome to my new followers! :)
