NOTD: Essie Barefoot In Blue and stamping (plus KKCenterHK plate review)

Today I have a fun stamping mani to share with you all. Awhile back, KKCenterHK Online store sent me some products to review. One of those products was this cute stamping plate with several images that I really wanted to use in some fun manicures. This is the first image that caught my eye, and given the name of the polish,  thought it was a perfect fit!

I started with 2 coats of Essie Barefoot In Blue, a lovely light blue crelly that I received when Toms and Essie teamed up for A Day Without Shoes. Then I stamped the footprint image from KKCenterHk Plate MB46 using China Glaze First Mate and topped it all off with a coat of SV.

I dig this mani! Those little footprints are just too cute! And Barefoot In Blue is such a gorgeous blue.

This is the second image plate from KKCenterHK that I have used, and I have to say that these plates are awesome! The images are engraved well and the images transfer perfectly every time. I did have some smearing on my index finger, but that's from my topcoat. The quality of the plates is up there with Mash and Bundle Monster, and the images are unique and fun.  I'm certainly impressed with these image plates and for $5.05 they're a steal!

The image plates come sealed in a resusable ziploc-type bag and are covered with a clear, protective plastic. Each plate has from 5-7 designs and range from Full Nail to small delicate images. New Fingr's Stamping Plates!

Please excuse the quick iPhone post - but I wanted to share this with you guys ASAP!

Fingr's has expanded their line of nail art supplies to include new and improved nail art stickers, sparkling top coats, glitter nail art stripers, and.....dun dun dun....Stamping Plates! I spotted these at Wal-Mart last night, and just had to share some (crappy iPhone) pics with you guys!

They have a mini stamping kit which includes one stamping plate, a mini stamper and scraper, and white "stamping polish". The stamping polish is very small, as is the stamper, but for $5.79, it's worth checking out.  The images aren't anything new and amazing, but they're cute and this would make a great little starter kit for those interested in trying some stamping, but don't want to spend much at first.  There's also a 2 pack of plates that retails for $2.79. The images are mostly smaller images, but there is one pretty cool full nail image in the 2 pack.

And here is the full nail image from plate B65, stamped over a 2 day old mani. I am no stamping queen, and I did this at 2am, so it was a very quick and dirty stamping job. I had to try them out and show you guys though!








































I admit that I only picked up the 2 pack of plates, since I don't really need another stamper and scraper, but I may go back and pick it up today just to test out the quality. The stamper is very tiny, and if nothing else may be useful for smaller images that I would love to use on my itty bitty ring and pinky fingers, but can never place right since my stamper is way larger than my nail. I'm also curious about their stamping polish, although I don't have high hopes. I've used their "top coat" that comes packaged with their rhinestones and that was just a mess! I think it's worth spending the $5.79 for an honest review though, and one can never really have enough stamping plates, right?

The image that I played with last night stamped fairly clean for the most part, although I did have to clean my plate more often than with my Bundle Monster, Mash, Red Angel and Konad plates. The image is etched fairly deep, which is nice for such inexpensive plates. I was able to get mostly clear stamping, but did have some smearing due to my own issues. I was stamping very quickly, and my white Konad Special polish tends to just blend with the acetone on my sponge and cloud up my stamper and plate. The one full nail image is rather narrow though - I wasn't able to cover my entire nail on my middle finger or ring finger (got close though!), and nowhere near full coverage on my thumbs. I have very small nails so that particular image won't cover most people's entire nail. It is rather easy to double stamp though. The rest of the images are smaller images mixed with larger, yet not full nail images that stamp clearly and cleanly. I plan on playing with some of the other images tonight since so far I'm actually enjoying these little cheapies!
The plates themselves are straight silver plates with no backing and sharp little edges, so you'll want to be careful handling them. I would also use an old credit card or something like that as opposed to a metal scraper since they seem a little soft.

 Overall these are pretty good little plates, especially for the price. I'm not sure about availability, but chances are if we have these out here in NM, they're already all over the place.
