Hi guys! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and the start of the week wasn't too bad.
Today I have one of the new Sinful Colors from the new Castaway Collection to share with you. I finally managed to pick one of these babies to wear, and I have to say I am very pleased with my choice. Out of all the new Sinful Colors polishes, I only picked up 3, since they were the only ones that really stood out for me. Today I decided to finally wear Neptune, and wow! I am very much in love!
Neptune is a dusty cornflower blue jelly-ish polish with loads of shimmer. In some light the shimmer plays Silver, and others more of a teal/green. This polish has a ton of depth, and despite not being one of my favorites in the bottle, it is just amazing on the nail.
I took these pictures using just the desk lamp as opposed to the light box since I really wanted to show off this girl's depth. In the light box she tends to show mostly straight periwinkle with silver, and that's not really true to what she looks like on the nail. I'm also really liking the contrast of the pics using this setup, so I may be playing around with it more often. The pics are still true to color, but without the glaring brightness that lightboxes can create. Please feel free to let me know which lighting you prefer.
This is 2 coats of Neptune over Seche Base, topped with Seche Vite:
Isn't Neptune just beautiful? I wasn't expecting to love this color as much as I do!
Formula on this girl wasn't anything to rave about, unfortunately. Hopefully I just got a wonky bottle, but it was very thick and gloppy. It did even out after a bit of thinner, and I didn't have any other problems. 2 coats was perfect for opacity, although I only use 1 coat to wrap my tips and that left them a touch lighter than the rest of the nail. Thankfully that's not obvious to anyone but me. ;)
After trying Neptune, I'm anxious to try out the other 2 of the new Sinful's that came home with me.
Happy Polishing!
