Hi ladies! It's Caturday!!! Rawr!!
Today I have decided on a fun post. I have seen the Past and Present meme floating around and decided it would be fun to post one of my own. .These manis were done right around a year ago when I first re-discovered the joys of nail polish, and a few months before I started this blog. I did ALOT of funky french manis then, since I was obsessed with Erika from Chloe's Nails. I still adore her and her nails, but have toned down my combos since then. I think I owned maybe 10 polishes and didn't know about nail shape, clean up, cuticle care, etc. I cringe looking at some of these!
First up, My very first attempt at a mani, China Glaze Reggae to Riches. You have to really look to see my nails since these were actually pics of my new rings (and hubby's). Please note the scary bad application, lack of decent top coat, no clean up and badly applied blue holo hearts. The first pic is my old wedding set, and the second is the one I have now. I was quite proud of them and took alot of pics.
See those holo hearts in the pic above? Yeaaaaaah...nail art overload. Moderation was not my thing.
The pic below is hubby's wedding ring, hence the man hand. It shows my thumbnail well though. Just look at that thing! What the.......???
The next pic is Wet N Wild Teal of Fortune with Sally Hansen Celeb City on the tips. I had this thing for silver tips apparently.
This next pic is actually my fave mani of the bunch, Sinful Colors All About You with Finger Paints Black Espressionism on the tips and some nail art sticker accents. I probably wouldn't wear this now, but at the time I was trying to buy polish outside of my comfort zone, which was black, blue and pink.
This next shot is another funky french, this time using newly acquired striper polish. I used Pure Ice First Love as my base, then added the silver tips with Celeb City, and made a pink stripe using a hot pink striper from Kiss. Another combo I cringe at now.
And finally Teal of Fortune on her own. Look at those nails! No shape or balance, and they make my fingers look like wonky sausages! Yikes!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. I'm so glad I found all of you awesome nail bloggers out there and read tutorials and nail care posts! I swear, I poured over blogs searching for tips and tricks! Here's a quick shot of the base for my current mani... I think I've come a LONG way since last June, don't you?
Thanks for stopping by and having a giggle with me!
Happy Polishing!
