Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection - I Love Rock N Roll

Hello again lovelies! If you missed my last post, the giveaway is live! You can win the entire Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection! Be sure to enter here! *Note* - I noticed that I accidentally made the FB Like option mandatory. That is fixed for those that are not on FB! Also, the GFC Widget for Daring Digits is on the very bottom of the page (it's hard to find!).

Today I have the first of the 10 polishes from Daring Digits' 80's Hits Collection. If you take a peek at the bottle shots in the giveaway post, you'll see this collection is divided into 5 bottle "volumes". I'm being naughty and swatching these totally out of order, so you'll see different volumes in these posts. I'm also a child of the 80's, so you'll have to deal with alot of babbling and squeeing. ;)

I <3 Rock N Roll is inspired by the song by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. If you're not familiar with this song, you may wanna youtube it. It's Joan's most popular song ever, and I still get overly excited when I hear it. Plus, who doesn't love Joan Jett? That woman is FIERCE! She's still performing and putting out albums, but her 80's music has always been my favorite. Maybe it's because even though the 80's were a 10 year fashion crisis, I loved being a part of it.

I <3 Rock N Roll is a mix of Black and Red Hearts (Get it? Blackhearts?) black hexes and red bar glitters. If you've seen this album cover, it will all come together for you. Ashley did a great job with this polish, and its definitely one of my faves.

This is 2 thin coats of I <3 Rock N Roll over Sinful Colors Tantalize:

I am a sucker for red and black glitter, but this?? This is ah-freaking-mazing! It's gorgeous, fun, and invokes the spirit of one of my all time fave songs. Epic Win!

I <3 Rock N Roll was a breeze to apply. The hearts are abundant, and if you tip your bottle upside down for a few minutes before polishing you won't have do do a bit of fishing.  The glitters lay flat on the nail, and even the bar glitters behave nicely. Since the hearts are a larger, heavier glitter, I do recommend a coat of Glitter Food or Gelous to smooth things out and protect the hearts. Please note that the flaws in my polish are not reflective of I <3 Rock N Roll - that was my won fault for not thinning out my Glitter Food despite noticing it's obviously consistency issue!

This, my friends, is an absolute must have. What's not to like about a fun glitter that goes well with almost everything? Remember, you can win your very own bottle plus its 9 siblings in my giveaway!

Daring Digits can be found at DDPolish.com, and the 80's Hits Collection is being released today! Full size bottles retail for $8, and shipping is free within the U.S., and $3 (flat rate!) to Canada. ALl Daring Digits creations are 3-free, cruelty free and handmade by the fabulous Miss Ashley. It's also her birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!!!!!  You can also grab my fave Cuticle Scrub and Cuticle Oil Balm from the DD website. Go Forth and check it out!

I'll be back tomorrow with another awesome 80's Hits polish as well as my ABC Challenge post!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Giveaway! Flashback to the 80's with KLK and Daring Digits!

Hello Lovelies! It's GIVEAWAY TIME!

Since I recently reached 300 FB likes, I am hosting a giveaway to say thank you to my readers. You guys are the best!

I am a child of the 80's. Those were my formative years and I remember the 80's with intense fondness.  I grew up on hair bands, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Duran Duran, neon and denim, and crazy teased hair. I dressed like Madonna and talked like a Valley Girl. I have pics to prove it, but nobody wants to see those!

Ashley from Daring Digits has created an awesome new collection inspired by the top Billboard hits of the 1980's, and when I saw them I swear I almost died. Not only is this collection reminiscent of some of the greatest years of my life (even if i was barely a pre-teen!), but each polish is phenomenal!

This collection is also Ashley's Birthday Collection! Happy Birthday Ashley!!!!!!!

THE PRIZES:

The fabulous  Ashley from Daring Digits has graciously donated 2 complete sets of her brand new, just released TODAY 80's Hits Collection! There will be 2 winners, and each lucky guy or gal will receive one complete 10 polish set of the Daring Digits 1980's Hits Collection! Since I am in the process of swatching these, I have some bottle shots for you to peek at. Swatches will be going up this week, and I'll link those here as we go. I'm not going into much detail here since I do then when I post swatches.

80's Hits Volume I (1980-1984):

Daring Digits Call Me - Bright Blue square glitter in a pink jelly base. Named for the song "Call Me" by Blondie.

Daring Digits Physical - Inspired by the Olivia Newton John song (you know you'll have this in your head now!), Physical is an absolutely amazing and utterly unique blend of Fuchsia microglitter, bright blue hex glitter and larger white hexes in a clear base.

Daring Digits I <3 Rock n Roll - Inspired by the Joan Jett and the Blackhearts song, this polish is full of Red and Black Hearts, black hex glitters and red bar glitters in a clear base. I'll have swatches of this up later today.

Daring Digits Every Breath You Take - If you don't recognize this name, you may be dead. Named for the epic song by The Police, Every Breath You Take is a blend of red, yellow, blue and black hexes in a clear base. Inspired by the single cover.

Daring Digits Like A Virgin - Inspired by the Epic 80's song, Like A Virgin is a blend of every white glitter you could imagine in a clear base. This reminds me of the white dress Madonna wore when performing this song  at the VMA's.

80's Hits Volume II (1985-1989):

Daring Digits We Are The World- Inspired by the song heard around the world which included almost every legendary performer from that era, We Are The World is a gorgeous mix of teal glitter with yellow flower glitter and sparse black glitters in a clear base.

Daring Digits Walk Like An Egyptian: Inspired by the Bangles song that had everyone walking around with their arms bent at odd angles and moving their necks like chickens (ha ha!),  Walk Like An Egyptian is an amazing mix of gold, teal, black, and bronze glitter in a clear base.

Daring Digits Livin' On A Prayer - Inspired by the Bon Jovi Anthem (you know you're singing this now!), Livin' On A Prayer is a gorgeous blend of  bright blue microglitter, bright blue, yellow and black hexes in a clear base.

Daring Digits Faith - Inspired by Faith by George Michael, (another song that will get stuck in your head!), Faith is a killer mix of blue and black hex glitter in a milky white base.

Daring Digits Miss You Much - Inspired by the Janet Jackson song, this polish is an absolutely incredible mix of various sizes of Black and White hexes, with an awesome green shimmer in a clear base. Not your average black and white!

80's goth

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks!

This will be a quick post, just to show you a look I did last week. It is an 80's goth inspired look. I don't know if I'm 100% happy about how it turned out but I guess it will do.

Again, please, I would really appreciate it if you would go to Makeupbee.com and vote for my look! If you would like to help me with this, please click here and then click "LUV". :)

Now to the look!

The inspiration for this look actually came from the movie "Gypsy 83" (which was awesome!), and the makeup Clive wears at the goth club. I think his version of the look is a little bit too harsh, though, so made my own twist on it. When doing this kind of look I like to blend the eyeshadow a lot.

Black or dark red lips are ideal combined with this eye makeup.

I also wanted to show you my new spine-earrings that I found on sale for a couple of dollars. They're so cute! I always appreciate when mainstream fashion stores are selling morbid jewelry and stuff! :)
