 Hello Lovelies! Happy Wednesday! It's actually an ABC Challenge day, but I am way behind on posts at the moment so that won't be up until tomorrow sometime. Work took over yesterday and this morning I have been having some issues with uploading photos to blogger. I've heard that several people are having the same issue and it seems to be a browser incompatibility. I switched to Chrome at it's working now. Albeit slowly. 

I am working on the new giveaway, but it won't be posted until late tonight. I have 3 posts that I'm currently working on, plus the giveaway, plus some time sensitive swatches for a friend. I don't foresee much sleep in my future!

Today I have another awesome glitter from Daring Digit's 80's Hits Collection to share with you all. We Are The World (named for the 80's Anthem of the same name) is a happy, funky lil mix of green hexes and squares, teal fine glitter and adorable yellow flowers. This is the first glitter that I have use that has flowers in the mix, and I really like it! This polish also brings back memories of all the We Are The World hype back in the 80's. That song was everywhere, and the video was one of my faves because all my fave artists were involved. Ahhhh memories!

This is 2 thin coats of We Are The World over NYC Tudor City Teal, a light teal jelly. I topped this off with a coat of HK Girl Top Coat as well. 

I have to say, this glitter is so cool! I really dig the flower glitters!

We Are The World was easy peasy to apply. The formula was excellent, with no fishing for the flower glitters. There are enough of those cute little flowers to make this pop, but not so many that they're overwhelming. WATW went on smoothly and dried quickly and smoothly. No need for anything other than my normal topcoat here! I was incredibly impressed with wear as well. I did not lose any of the flower glitters, and had no lifting with them as well. I'm always worried that I'll end up losing those larger glitters!

I am still loving this collection. My only issue is that I don't get to wear them long enough! I have 3 more to show you all, and they're some of my very faves.

Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection - Miss You Much

 Hello Lovelies! It's Monday morning, and we all know how much I love Monday....ugh! At least I have some awesome polishes to share with you today. It's looking like I'll be posting multiple daily posts again for a few days, so get ready to see some gorgeous Indies!

This morning I have another beauty from Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection to share with you. This polish is one of the first that i opened when I received these for review, and man! Did it blow me away! At first glance, it may seem like a black and white glitter polish, but it has something special. 

Miss You Much is a mix of multiple sizes and shapes of black and white glitters in a clear base. What sets it apart is that it also includes a really gorgeous green shimmer! The shimmer was very difficult to capture on camera, but I assure you, it's there. 

I used 2 thin coats of Miss You Much over Julep Nikki here. Nikki is a neon yellow/green creme, so that shimmer you're seeing is from Miss You Much. 

You're also getting more shorties with this post, since This color looked better on my left hand shorties than on my stilettos. :)

   









































Although I'm not sold on Julep Nikki (it's one of those so ugly it's kinda pretty colors, but doesn't look great on me), Daring Digits Miss You Much is gorgeous! I love black and white glitters, but throw in that green shimmer and wow! Bonus!

Miss You Much was a breeze to apply. The formula was perfect - not too thick, not too thin, with no clumping glitters. The larger glitters are a touch heavy, so I kept my bottle upside down for a few minutes before polishing and had no problems with grabbing enough glitter. MYM dries just a tad textured, but nothing your usual top coat can't handle. Dry time was lightning fast as well. 

I really love this twist on black and white glitter. It gives it just enough extra sparkle to be eye catching, but not overwhelming. Although the shimmer is green, it's so fine that it matches well with almost any color. Brilliant!

Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection - Like A Virgin

Hello Lovelies! Happy Tuesday! I took Monday off due to a horrible migraine, but I'm back! 

Today I have the final polish from Volume I of the Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection. I'll be starting on the 5 beauties from Volume II this week, and you do not want to miss those! 

I'm also extending the giveaway for a bit, since I really want to show all of these babies before ending the giveaway. :)

I purposely waited to use this polish, since it's so very unique, as well as a serious reminder of my childhood. Named for the Madonna song "Like A Virgin", this baby is a mix of every kind of white glitter imaginable in a clear base. If this doesn't remind you of the iconic modified wedding dress that Madonna wore while performing during ther very first VMA's (holy hell, now I feel old!), then you're probably way younger than I am and have never seen that performance. It was, in typical Madonna fashion, groundbreaking at the time and highly controversial. I remember thinking that Madonna was a genius. Everyone was talking about her - good or bad, her name was everywhere. Brilliant marketing!

This is 2 thin coats of Like A Virgin over a pink/blue gradient. I used Sally Hansen Pink A Card as my base (and let me tell you, This polish was the biggest PITA on earth!) and SH Pacific Blue on the tips and topped it all with NPB Glitter Food and HK Girl Top Coat:

 Despite really needing to work on my gradients on my right hand (did you notice? I've been swatching on my dominant hand! I suffered a horrible break on my left hand and have been letting it recover.), I really like the effect of the white glitter over the gradient colors.

Like A Virgin is literally jam-packed with glitter, yet is not too thick or clumpy. It applies smoothly and evenly, and the glitters were very well behaved. I did have the occasional stray bar glitter, but that was due to the shape of my nails and not the glitter itself. The large glitters are very heavy, so you will need to give the bottle a good shake (or keep it tipped upside down for a few minutes) in order to mix them in with the rest of the glitters. Like A Virgin does dry a touch textured, mostly due to those large glitters, so I added a coat of Glitter Food to smooth things out.

I love this polish. Just love it. There is something so beautiful about an all white glitter. In fact, had I not been photographing this, I would have worn this over white.

Hello Lovelies! Happy Thursday! It's so close to Friday that I'm almost doing the happy dance. Almost....

Today I have another awesome Daring Digits beauty to share with you. Call Me is part of the brand new 80's Hits Collection (which you can win in my giveaway!). I'm so glad that my schedule is getting back to normal because I have been dying to wear these babies!  

Call Me is a candy pink jelly packed with blue and pink squares and hexes. Inspired by the 1980 Blondie hit "Call Me", this polish captures the colors of the single perfectly. This is definitely a favorite from this collection and I can see myself wearing this a lot over the spring and summer.

This is 3 coats of Call Me, no undies, topped with HK Girl Top Coat:

 Dontcha love how my lighting makes my skin tone look different with every color polish I wear? I swear I'm not actually this pink! ;) Also, ignore the weird black stuff on my thumb. I had a pastel explosion (Dex got into them) and the black stains!

Despite the pink fingers, I LOVE this polish. I'm a huge fan of pink, and this particular shade of pink mixed with the pink and blue glitters is just perfection. It's like having candy on my nails!

Call Me's formula is standard Daring Digits fabulous with no thickening, glopping, clumpy glitters, and always usable straight from the bottle. Application was easy peasy -silky smooth with no dargging or balding. Call Me is fairly sheer, so you will need 3 coats for opacity, or a good coat of matching undies.  In my photos it looks like my index nail needs another coat, but I assure you that is just my lighting shining through my nail.

Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection: Every Breath You Take

Hello Lovelies! I'm actually feeling a bit better today. I've had some awesome conversations with a couple of my fave blogger/polish friends, and that really boosted my spirits. Thanks Gini and Ketlyn!! I'm also back to polishing and posting, although I'll only be able to manage a post a day while B is gone. Right now I'm polishing after the kids have gone to bed, photographing while Dex eats breakfast, editing while he has lunch, and posting while he has dinner. This does not cater to my OCD, but it works! I will toss out a warning though - Dave's memorial service is tomorrow so I'm sure to be shaken again. Right now it's surreal, and I'm forging on solely because I know that he would tsk at me for shirking my responsibilites.

Today I have another awesome polish from the ever-so-awesome Ash from Daring Digits. Every Breath You Take represents 1983 in the 80's Hits Collection, and is (obviously!) named after the song by The Police. I loooove that song, and I love Sting. His voice is just so unique, and his tunes are always catchy. How can you not dig Sting?

Every Breath You Take (the polish) is a simply perfect mix of various sized Red, Blue, and Yellow square and hex glitters in a clear base. I really struggled to choose a base color for this one, but I knew that I wanted the colors to stand out. I ultimately decided to layer EBYT over OPI My Vampire Is Buff, one of my fave neutrals.

This is 2 very thin coats of EBYT, topped with Glitter Food and HK Girl top coat (Please not that that these pics are the perfectr example of how my crazy olive/pink skin tone looks different with nothing more than a shift of my wrist!):

Love! I really love how bright the colors are in this girl, and the mix of hex and square glitters really makes this for me. I adore this over a neautral base, but I can see myself wearing this often over so many colors! Just awesome!

EBYT has the standard Daring Digits Formula - thick enough to carry the glitter, yet thin enough to flow smoothly. These glitters are a bit heavy, but I had zero issues with fishing for glitter, and I did not tip my bottle upside down before polishing. Application was a breeze, the glitters dispersed nicely and lay flat on the nail. I used very thin coats here, but 1 thicker coat would have sufficed. This does dry a touch textured, so I added a coat of Glitter Food, however it really wasn't all that necessary.

Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection - Physical

Hello Lovelies! Happy Caturday! Charlie would say hello but she's busy bathing herself on my pillow. Life is so hard for her. I'm feeling pretty down today, so I decided to perk myself up by sharing some awesome polish. Who knows, I may actually manage to do a mani tonight. I've had naked nails since Wednesday night.

I also want to take a quick minute to say thank you to everyone that has been so kind and understanding. Even though it's nothing compare to what my husband and MIL are feeling, my grief is very real. Thank you for all of your support. You guys rock!

Today I have one of my favorite polishes from Daring Digits to date, Physical from the 80's Hits Collection. Named after that Olivia Newton John song (oh you know that's stuck in your head now!), Physical is a mind blowing mix of purple/fuchsia, bright blue and bright white multi-sized hex glitters. I'll be 100% honest with you - there is no way pictures can do this baby justice. It really has to be seen. The colors are so vibrant - it's just incredible.

This is 1 coat over Julep Simone, a purple/pink with subtle iridescent shimmer.

I. Love. This. Polish! When I opened up my package from Ash and saw this baby, I about fell over. Physical is incredibly unique, and just gorgeous. This girl is also incredibly versatile - I had a very hard time narrowing down a base color for this beauty.

As you can see, the glitter in this is a bit heavy and will sink over time. A good shake before use will fix that, although I recommend just tipping the bottle upside down for a few minutes. Works better than shaking and no bubbles. Physical carries the usual DD formula - thick but not so thick that it's hard to work with. The thickness of the base ensures that you wont have to fish for glitter, and helps distribute the smaller glitters evenly. I had no issues with application and only needed a single coat. Physical dries slightly textured due to the larger glitter pieces, so I topped this off with a coat of Glitter Food before top coating. Dry time was fast, and wear was awesome!

I am really loving the 80's Hits Collection. Physical is a show-stopper for sure, but wait until you see the rest of these pretties! Don't forget to enter the giveaway to win the entire collection!

Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection - I Love Rock N Roll

Hello again lovelies! If you missed my last post, the giveaway is live! You can win the entire Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection! Today I have the first of the 10 polishes from Daring Digits' 80's Hits Collection. If you take a peek at the bottle shots in the giveaway post, you'll see this collection is divided into 5 bottle "volumes". I'm being naughty and swatching these totally out of order, so you'll see different volumes in these posts. I'm also a child of the 80's, so you'll have to deal with alot of babbling and squeeing. ;)

I <3 Rock N Roll is inspired by the song by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. If you're not familiar with this song, you may wanna youtube it. It's Joan's most popular song ever, and I still get overly excited when I hear it. Plus, who doesn't love Joan Jett? That woman is FIERCE! She's still performing and putting out albums, but her 80's music has always been my favorite. Maybe it's because even though the 80's were a 10 year fashion crisis, I loved being a part of it.

I <3 Rock N Roll is a mix of Black and Red Hearts (Get it? Blackhearts?) black hexes and red bar glitters. If you've seen this album cover, it will all come together for you. Ashley did a great job with this polish, and its definitely one of my faves.

This is 2 thin coats of I <3 Rock N Roll over Sinful Colors Tantalize:

I am a sucker for red and black glitter, but this?? This is ah-freaking-mazing! It's gorgeous, fun, and invokes the spirit of one of my all time fave songs. Epic Win!

I <3 Rock N Roll was a breeze to apply. The hearts are abundant, and if you tip your bottle upside down for a few minutes before polishing you won't have do do a bit of fishing.  The glitters lay flat on the nail, and even the bar glitters behave nicely. Since the hearts are a larger, heavier glitter, I do recommend a coat of Glitter Food or Gelous to smooth things out and protect the hearts. Please note that the flaws in my polish are not reflective of I <3 Rock N Roll - that was my won fault for not thinning out my Glitter Food despite noticing it's obviously consistency issue!

This, my friends, is an absolute must have. What's not to like about a fun glitter that goes well with almost everything? Remember, you can win your very own bottle plus its 9 siblings in my giveaway!

Giveaway! Flashback to the 80's with KLK and Daring Digits!

Daring Digits Like A Virgin - Inspired by the Epic 80's song, Like A Virgin is a blend of every white glitter you could imagine in a clear base. This reminds me of the white dress Madonna wore when performing this song  at the VMA's.

80's Hits Volume II (1985-1989):

Daring Digits We Are The World- Inspired by the song heard around the world which included almost every legendary performer from that era, We Are The World is a gorgeous mix of teal glitter with yellow flower glitter and sparse black glitters in a clear base. 

Daring Digits Walk Like An Egyptian: Inspired by the Bangles song that had everyone walking around with their arms bent at odd angles and moving their necks like chickens (ha ha!),  Walk Like An Egyptian is an amazing mix of gold, teal, black, and bronze glitter in a clear base.

 

Daring Digits Livin' On A Prayer - Inspired by the Bon Jovi Anthem (you know you're singing this now!), Livin' On A Prayer is a gorgeous blend of  bright blue microglitter, bright blue, yellow and black hexes in a clear base.

Daring Digits Faith - Inspired by Faith by George Michael, (another song that will get stuck in your head!), Faith is a killer mix of blue and black hex glitter in a milky white base.

Daring Digits Miss You Much - Inspired by the Janet Jackson song, this polish is an absolutely incredible mix of various sizes of Black and White hexes, with an awesome green shimmer in a clear base. Not your average black and white!
