Sinful Colors Winter Wonder and No H8 Manicure

Hi again lovelies! It's No H8 day across the blogasphere today, and although this manicure isn't as purple as most, it still counts!

I love blogging. And I love the Nail and Beauty Blogging Community. I've met some wonderful people through blogging, and we all share a love of nail polish, color, nail art, and beauty. However, blogging sometimes comes with drama, which I find terribly sad. The No H8 movement was created to bring awareness to bullying - both internet and IRL. As the parent of someone who has been bullied to the point of contemplating suicide, I have a zero tolerance stance on bullying of any kind. Nobody should be tormented for their beliefs, appearance, religion, sexual orientation/preference, political beliefs, etc. Nobody. Period. We're all in this world together. Let's respect one another.

On a more personal note, despite the fact that we are all bloggers, we are all different. My application is very different from others, our clean up varies, our photos vary, and that's ok. In fact, if we all blogged the same way things would get pretty boring.  Any one way is not better than the other, and today I stand with my fellow bloggers and say that I will not tolerate any sort of bullying over any of the above mentioned points. I hope you all agree.

Having said that.....onto the post!


Earlier today I posted Zoya Fei Fei, and I mentioned that there is a possible dupe floating around. Well, this is that possible dupe.

Sinful Colors Winter Wonder is very similar to Zoya Fei Fei - same sheer base, same gold, blue, pink/red/gold, green flecks.  I came across this at Walgreens last weekend and knew I had to see if it was a dupe, or just very similar. In the bottle, they look ALOT alike.  But on the nail, there are some slight differences.  Let's take a look!

Beautiful! Sinful has a winner on their hands with this polish! I have a feeling this is going to be a very popular drugstore polish this Winter.

As you can see from my pics, Winter Wonder is not an exact dupe of Zoya Fei Fei. It has much more purple to the base, and the pink in the fleck is very pronounced. I can't say that I have a favorite, since I love the blue of Fei Fei and I love the purple/pink of WW.

Formula:
Winter Wonder was very similar to Fei Fei in terms of formula. The only major difference was that WW is a touch thinner than FF.  I didn't notice a strange smell with this one either.

Application:
Very smooth application with no dragging or balding. Since WW is thinner than FF, I didn't wait very long at all between coats and application was fine. Dry time was very fast as well, which is always an added bonus.

I feel that if you haven't managed to get ahold of Zoya Fei Fei that Winter Wonder is a good choice to slay the lemming. Although not an exact dupe, it's certainly close enough to satisfy. And at $1.99, you can't go wrong.  You can find Sinful Colors at Walgreens, and I've seen them popping up at certain grocery stores and Wal Marts as well.

NOTD: Zoya Fei Fei

Morning loves! Happy Thursday! Tomorrow is another challenge day, which kind of makes me sad since we are nearing the end of the challenge now. I've had so much fun with everyone that I just hate to see it end. Thankfully I know some of the ladies are willing to do more challenges, and that perks me up a bit!

Today's NOTD is the notorious Zoya Fei Fei from the Diva Collection. I'll be honest, this was the only color that I grabbed from this collection since it was really the only true standout in my mind (Daul came close, but Fei Fei won out overall). Fei Fei  boasts a light, steely blue base with flecks of gold, light blue, silver, green, and pink/magenta/red duochrome. It's a stunning polish, and I have no idea why I waited so long to wear it! Take a look at this girl!

Check out the macro shot - is that not an awesome polish!?! I love it in the bottle, but I am certainly loving it on the nail even more.

Formula:
As usual, Zoya does not disappoint. Fei Fei was smooth and silky, and despite being packed full of fleck, it wasn't gloppy or thick. I've heard some people say it smells bad (like  rotten eggs) but I didn't notice any unusual smell. Could be because my polish table is in a very well ventilated area though.

Application:
Even though this is a densely packed flecked polish, I had no application issues. Zero dragging, balding, gooping, etc.  However, I did allow this girl to dry pretty well between coats just in case. Fei Fei is a bit on the sheer side, with some visible VNL at 2 thin coats, so I'm wearing three here, with Seche Vite to finish it off. You could probably get away with 2 thicker coats, but I would recommend allowing this to dry between coats to avoid any balding/dragging.

I feel like this is a must have for any polish lover. However....dun dun dun...if you haven't been able to get your hands on Fei Fei, there is a great alternate. It's not an exact dupe, but it's close. If all goes well, I'll be showing you that polish later today!
