Hello lovelies! Another late night post for ya! I've had an insanely busy weekend, and I managed to finally fall over exhausted, hence the lack of posts for a few days. I should be back on track with daytime posts tomorrow, unless I fall over dead or something. Today was busy busy as well, with my oldest starting 7th grade tomorrow and my youngest in crazy baby mode. Even had a client's foster puppy crash through a screen door!

But alas, polish makes it all better, am I right?

Today I have Shimmer Polish Marilyn to share with you all. Now, you know how much I adore Shimmer Polish, and Marilyn is one of my personal faves. A stunning mix of burgandy red glitter in a red jelly base, Marilyn is truly gorgeous! The moment I unpacked this little gem I knew that I couldn't just wear her alone. So I decided to borrow a manicure idea from the amazing Amy Grace at The Polished Perfectionist. However, her mani is a good 10 billion times more awesome. My tape wasn't as troublesome this time, but impatience is my ultimate nemesis and I decided to clean up before my polish was dry. Big mistake. My clean up lines ended up sloppy and a bit goopy. Lesson learned. I knew I should've just irished up my coffee and read TMZ or something. ;)

This is Shimmer Polish Marilyn over A-England Camelot my very favorite Black. Topped off with a coat of Glitter Food and Glossy Glam (I received my replacement bottle of GG on Saturday. Muuuuuuuch better!).

I love this polish....love! It is a touch brighter IRL - my camera really wanted to dull this one down. It has issues with reds, ya know. I also really like this paired with black, but really want to swatch this again on her own.

Marilyn's formula is thick, but not to thick that it's problematic. It actually works well with as far as suspending the glitters. Application is easy peasy as well, with no dragging or balding, and no clumps of glitter. It is a touch sheer on the first coat, but evens out nicely with the second. Even though I used tape for this mani, I used 2 coats here, with no issues. Dry time is incredibly fast, but Marilyn dries to a matte finish, so you definitely need top coat. It's also a bit gritty, so I added a coat of Glitter Food before my coat of Glossy Glam. Wear is excellent with no chips or signs of wear at 24 hours. I also need to mention that in sunlight? Yeah, this girl is so sparkly it's blinding!

If you haven't grabbed any Shimmer Polishes yet, Run, do not walk, over to ShimmyShimmer.com, take a look at the polishes and order away! Ordering is done via email, and the info you need is listed on the ordering tab on the site. Full size polishes run $12 each, and are worth every penny. Don't forget to follow Shimmer Polish on Facebook for updates and swatches!

What do you think of Marilyn? Do you have any Shimmers?

I'll be be back tomorrow with TIOT! I'll also have that luscious potion I promised you all this week, as well as another Mish Mash Challenge mani and some Fandom Cosmetics and Polish TBH.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Shimmer Polish Jennifer - Swatches and Review

 Press Sample

*Product(s) Featured provided for review. Please see Disclaimer/Legal Page for more information**

Well hello there Lovelies!! It's been days since I've posted - I am sooo sorry! This past weekend was filled with a rash of activity, and inconvenience. I had a ton of errands to run, which is fine - I'm used to that. Buuuuut....we've had huge thunderstorms here as well, and the one night I had to swatch, the power was out for hours upon hours. We were burning a ton of candles (which made my house smell incredible, but also makes me sad since my Savory Scents candles are now very low), but that's not exactly optimum swatching conditions. Not to mention open flames near all those lovely flammable polishes and acetone. The one swatch I did manage, ended up damaged beyond repair in a frenzy of lighting candles, closing windows and doors, and replacing flashlight batteries during the first big storm. Normally I would be annoyed, but I loved that polish so much that being able to wear it twice in a row was actually pretty sweet.

Today I have that incredible polish to share with you! In case you hadn't already guessed (ha!), it's Shimmer Polish in Jennifer.

Shimmer Polish has been on my lemming list for a long time, and Jennifer was at the top. One of those "I must have this polish or I will surely shrivel up and die!" kind of lemmings. Imagine my utter joy at finding Jennifer in my package from Shimmer! *Insert happy dance here*.

Jennifer is filled with different sizes and shades of iridescent and pastel blue glitters, with some pink, copper, and black glitters mixed in. I'm a sucker for glitters blue in any incarnation, and iridescent glitters are my first love (my first glitter polish was an old Maybelline with nothing but pink iridescent glitters....I still have it!).

One of the things that I love so much about Shimmer polishes is that despite being glitter bombs, they're so beautiful and classy. You really can't go wrong with them. Jennifer is certainly no exception and definitely at the top of my list. Let's take a look!

Although Jennifer is opaque in 2-3 coats, I decided to layer her over Julep Bess, a sky blue creme, in order to bring out the pastel colors in the glitters. This is 2 coats of Julep Bess, 1 coat of Shimmer Jennifer, and top coat.

I still just....wow!...when I look at this glitter. Such a beauty! And so versatile! Jennifer looks amazing by herself,  or layered over pretty much any color.

Jennifer's formula is fabulous! This girl applies so smoothly that it's hard to believe it's a glitter bomb. I had no issues with clumpy glitters, thickening polish, or balding/dragging. Application was perfection as well, with no issues to mention. The glitters disperse evenly with every brush stroke and coverage is excellent. The glitters lay flat on the nail, and despite being loaded with glitter, Jennifer does not dry very textured at all. I used my regular top coat and my mani was smooth as glass.

If you're a glitter fanatic, you simply NEED this polish. Jennifer is perfect over a darker color for some serious color flash and sparkle, and subdued enough to wear alone or over a soft base color at work. This is a polish that I'll be reaching for often and regular. Do you see why I was actually excited to have to re-do this mani after I mucked it up during that storm? I'm having trouble writing this at the moment since I keep getting distracted by the polish. Soooooo amazing.

Jennifer is the second Shimmer Polish I've tried, and so far we're 2 for 2. I'm very impressed with the formula, application, and color combinations on these polishes. I have 3 more to share with you, and I'd be lying if I said I'm not excited as all get out to try them.

You can check out Shimmer's insanely fabulous glitters by visiting ShimmyShimmer.com. You can order via email (You can find all the info you need under the Contact/Purchase tab)- just check out all the blog posts and pick your colors. Full size bottles retail for $12 (worth every penny if you ask me), however I don't think minis are available. I highly recommend picking up Jennifer, and of course, Kim (swatches coming soon!)! You can also follow Shimmer Polish on Facebook for updates, sales info, and swatches.

What do you think of Jennifer? Do you have any glitters from Shimmer?

I'll be back later today with an infamous and simply incredible polish for Try It Out Tuesday, so be sure to check back soon! As a random side note, I'm planning on working hard to actually respond to comments. I've been so bad about that, and it makes me feel horrible!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Shimmer Polish Nichole - Swatches and Review

 Press Sample

*Product(s) Featured provided for review. Please see Disclaimer/Legal Page for more information**

Hello Lovelies! Happy Friday! I hope you all had a Happy 4th of July (for my American lovelies)! WE spent the day at my parent's house, BBQing and lighting fireworks. My littlest one loved the fireworks so much! It was really too cute. He kept doing this funky little happy dance. Really wish I had been able to get video of that.

It's also Flakie Friday, however that post won't be up unti this evening. I have a pretty full day (it's busy season for my business) and won't be able to photograph until this evening. Hopefully I'll actually be able to keep my manicure intact! Wish me luck!

Today I have my 4th of July polish to share with you. I was recently asked to review Shimmer Polish, and I have been so excited to try these babies out. I've had a bunch of Shimmers on my wishlist for what seems like ages, so being able to swatch and review them is incredibly exciting!

Nichole is an absolutely stunning mix of various Blue, Red, and holo Silver glitters. This girl is so glowy and vibrant - I love it! Nichole looks amazing layered over polish, but since Shimmers are notoriosu for being opaque at only 2 coats, I decided to wear Nichole by herself.

This is 2 coats of Shimmer Nicole, topped with NPB Glitter Food and top coat:

Love, love, love! I love glitter bombs (despite the occasional "festive" glittery cuticle), and Nichole is glitter bomb perfection. I'm still in awe of how bright and vibrant these glitters are, and how shimmery this is.

Nichole's formula is quite heavenly. Glitter bombs are notorious for being a bit tricky to apply, bit Nichole is so far from problematic. No thickening during use, no clumps of glitter, no dabbing over patchy spots, no glitter hanging over the free edge. Nothing but easy peasy, gorgeous full coverage glittery goodness. Wear was wonderful as well, with no lifting or missing glitters at 36 hours. And that's after 2 showers! Impressive! In fact, I was unable to find a single thing that I didn't like about this polish.

I am loving Shimmer Polish so far...I just can't wait to try out the other 4. And you won't want to miss them. Shimmer's glitters are some of the most gorgeous glitters around.

You can check out Shimmer's wide arrange of glittery beauties by visiting ShimmyShimmer.com. Order is via email and each polish sells for $12 ($2.95 shipping). Shimmer Polish is also available through Harlow & Co. and are currently on sale for $11 each. You can also follow Shimmer Polish on Facebook for sales info, new releases, and swatches galore!

I'll have more from Shimmer coming up within the week, so be sure to keep an eye out. I also have Fandom Cosmetics, Polish TBH, Luscious Potion and Love Angeline coming up!

What do you think of Nichole? Do you have a favorite Shimmer?

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
