Moroccan Miracle

Morocco is the Mecca of beauty raw materials. Who needs to mention Moroccan argan oil for instance? But another substance is also worth mentioning. The Moroccan Rasul Clay.

This clay is almost a soapy product, it cleanses and moisturizes and treats the skin. It is extracted by lavatic earth in the deep mines of Morocco. The soapy clay has been used for thousands of years as a beauty product and can be used as hairshampoo ( I haven't yet had the courage to smear my hair in clay), as a handsoap, shaving cream or facial mask. You take some of the flakes of dried clay, mix it with water and stir it till its consistency becomes foamy. I always use boiled water, as cold water is not as effective in softening the flakes.

To day I mixed a cup of clay with water and a tiny drop of rose water for aromatic reasons only and a few drops of a homoeopathic  crab apple extract (good for acne prone skin) and apllied the mixture to my cleansed face and let it sit for 15 minutes until it was so tight i couldn't move my face. I washed it off in luke warm water and the clay dissolved into a soft soft silk like moist just before it reached the bottom of my sink.
Afterwards I applied a thin layer of my favourite vitamin mask from Dermalogica, to further treat my summer sun kissed cheeks.

I just had to tell about this Rasul Clay. I have used it for some time, and I really like it. It is very cheap, completely natural - there is nothing else in the product than this African clay - and effective.

Besides, I just really want to go to Morocco. Not just for its raw materials, but for everything it is. But adding some argan oils and rasul to your beauty routine might just be a nice substitute for a fortnight's vacation in Marrakech... Or not. Anyways... Miracles do happen!!
