30 Days of Blue - Long Overdue Version! China Glaze Prismatic Chroma Glitters Liquid Crystal

Phew! I cannot tell you how stressed out I was over getting this posted. I've been having issues with my USB cable and memory card, and once those were fixed, the files on my card were freaking out and kept saying they couldn't be opened! Imagine how bummed out I was, since I had already removed this mani! Thankfully I found a way around the issue in iPhoto (which, for the record, I just can't stand), and I'm finally able to post!

Today I have one of my newest polishes to share with you today, China Glaze Prismatic Chroma Glitter in Liquid Crystal. I was initially on the fence about these glitters since they were touted to be holographic and there isn't much holo about them. However, they are some of the coolest glitters out there, and I am thrilled to have a few of them.

Liquid Crystal is an absolutely amazing bundle of multichrome glitterbomb goodness sealed in a bottle. It is packed with microglitter that shifts from a lovely soft blue to pink to purple, as well as multi-colored and holo round glitter. The multichrome shift is readily apparent in the bottle, and I was worried that it wouldn't translate to the nail, but once I had this girl on? Mind blown!!! I tried to capture the color shift for you guys, but even though you *can* see some of it, it's so much stronger in person. I purposely shot these in low lighting to capture the multichrome flash, as well as show off that awesome blue base. As usual, some shots are slightly out of focus to show glitter bomb awesomesauce! Actually, in all honesty, these were supposed to be test shots with the older (yet better) camera, but they came out well enough that my lazy butt just decided to use them. ;) Normally I'm not swimming in oil and cat hair (well, sometimes the cat hair makes an appearance...Charlie really digs Solar Oil. It's like she has Solar Oil radar and pops up out of nowhere the minute I apply it!) when I shoot pics. But I digress!! On to yummy glittah!!!

The last picture, although kinda weird looking as far as background goes, really shows that gorgeous pink/purple color shift. These glitters are so unique! Well played, China Glaze!

Application was a bit of a pain, mostly because this polish is literally jam packed with glitter, which makes it very dense to begin with, but my bottle started to thicken rather quickly. I think it may just be that bottle though, since I picked up another shade from this line and it was just fine when I swatched it.  Either way, it was worth it for the end result. So many people commented on this baby that I was almost self conscious! I had seen some people using 3 coats for Opacity, but I used 2 and was happy with the result. It is a thirsty glitter though, so I used a good coat of Gelous as well as SV to top it all off.  Removal wasn't as nightmarish as I had expected either. Of course, I cheat and use one of those acetone scrubby jars with the stiff bristles for glitter removal. The foil method works well and all, but it's hard to chase a toddler when you're running around looking like Edward Acetonehands. ;)

In other news, those of you that have hung around my blog or twitter feed for long enough know that the one thing I wanted more than anything was an awesome linear holographic polish that I didn't have to pay $50 for, or deal with paying for expedited shipping (I'm impatient!) only to end up waiting 3 weeks for my polish (bad experience with my first and only Nfu-Oh order). I had to run in to Ulta today to pick up some Nail Envy Matte, and I came across my personal little Nail Polish Heaven - A shiny new Layla Hologram Effect Display!! I quickly snatched up 3 of them and held onto them for dear life while driving like my hair was on fire all the way home, where I immediately had to swatch them on one nail each. And...Oh. My. God.  Talk about Linear Holo yumminess!!!! I am just floored by just how holo these are!!! Even indoors in very low light they are just brilliant! You guys may see a few double posts this weekend since I just can't wait to fully swatch and share these with you all. If you've been stalking these polishes like I have, RUN to Ulta now! They're selling at $15.50 each for 10ml of serious linear bliss!

Hope you all are having a lovely Friday evening and getting ready to enjoy your weekend!

Happy Polishing!
