Hello Lovelies! Happy Wednesday! I managed to photograph the awesome Polish TBH pretty yesterday, but right now I have an ABC Challenge manicure for you (I'll post the Polish TBH this afternoon)!

Today's challenge letter is X, and I have to tell you, I was largely uninspired until I realized that I have a drawer full of X-Treme Wear polishes. I've had some nail art ideas in my head, thanks to my daughter, and took this opportunity to create her favorite.

For this manicure I started with a base of Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear in Grey Area. I have no idea why I haven't worn this before - it's such a pretty grey, even if it is darker than the grey from my inspiration. After that dried, I added a few different sized dots in another X-Treme Wear polish, Breezy blue. Then I added some tiny dots to the upper right of the blue dots in yet another X-Treme Wear polish, White On.

This design is actually inspired my a character in My Little Pony : Friendship Is Magic named "Derpy Hooves". She was a background character, but the fans fell in love with her uneven eyes and clutzy mannerisms, so she was adopted into the cast. My daughter is a huge MLP fan and adores Derpy, so it was only fitting that I recreat Derpy's Cutie Mark (the image on the pony's flank) on my nails. Her cutie mark is just random floating bubbles, but I think these look pretty darn cool!

I admit it - I really dig these! Derpy is a pretty fab character, and even though my base color is darker than Derpy is, I'm still thrilled with these. Now if my nails would grow faster, I'd be a happy girl! Unfortunately I had been patching a tear that was just behind the quick on my index finger, and that started to give way so I had to take my length down one last time. It does keep my right hand closer to the length on my left though, so in the end it works out. I'm just missing having *some* length.

What do you think of my Derpy Hooves Cutie Mark Nails? You get extra points if you actually know who I'm talking about!

Be sure to check out all my polish sistah's and their letter X manicures!

I'll be back later with Polish TBH awesomeness, and I have some incredible Indies coming up this week, so check back!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Polish TBH Fantasy Collection: Twist

Hello there lovelies! Happy Tuesday! It's crazy busy here at KLK this week. Not only do I have a ton of personal stuff to take care of, but there's also work, and I have a plethora of new polishes to show you all!

You may have noticed that I have added an ABC Challenge tab to the page. I plan on moving the Challenge info posts over to that tab, as well as posting future info there. It's under construction at the moment, but I plan on getting it done this evening.

Today I have another beauty from Polish TBH for you all. I actually swatched this a week ago, but had some posts that were time sensitive so I'm posting it today. Twist is from the Fantasy Collection, and is one of my very favorites. In fact, this was the 4th time I had worn this polish! Twist is a gorgeous mix of dark blue, aqua, fuchsia, pink and silver holo heart glitters in a clear base. I've worn this baby over pink, navy, and baby blue and it looks amazing with all of them. Today I'm showing this over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Baby Blue, which is my fave combo so far.

All photos are 1 coat of Twist over 3 coats of Sally Hansen Breezy Blue:

Gorgeous! I love how this glitter makes any base color really pop, and the glitters are striking and feminine.

Formula:
Polish TBH is another Indie brand that consistently impresses with formula. Always usable straight from the bottle, twist has a lovely thick, yet easy to work with formula. No thickening during use, glopping up, or clumpy glitters here.

Application:
Easy Peasy! The brush delivered the perfect amount of glitter in every stroke, with no dragging or clumping at the tip. I didn't even have to fish for the holo hearts! Despite being a chunky glitter, Twist isn't very textured, and all I needed was my usual topcoat to smooth it out.

Overall Twist is one of my very fave glitters and I already need a backup bottle. I love that it's so versatile - it really goes with most any base color.

All Polish TBH creations are 3-free and made with high quality ingredients.  Full size bottles retail for $8, minis for $4, and collections for $35. You can find Polish TBH on Etsy (clicky clicky!), and I recommend keeping an eye out since the new collection is coming out very soon!!

What do you think of Twist? Do you have a fave from The Fantasy Collection?

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
