Polish TBH Diagon Alley Collection - Sorcerer's Stone

Press Sample

*Product(s) Featured provided for review. Please see Disclaimer/Legal Page for more information**

Hello again, loves! I promised some more Indie awesomeness today, and here I am! Unfortunately my Mish Mash Challenge post will have to wait until tomorrow - I had a late client meeting and am so tired I can't see straight. Not to mention I have more photographs to take.

Tonight's polish of awesomeness is another beauty from the Diagon Alley Collection from Polish TBH. Man, can I tell you how badly I wanted to wear this while I was sick?? I wasn't even able to sit up, nonetheless polish, but I really wanted to get the final polishes from this collection done so you guys could ooooh and ahhhh over them. Thankfully I'm no longer germ infested and can actually enjoy them!

Sorcerer's Stone is a red thermal polish with black, red, and silver glitters. When warm, it's a vivid red, and when cold it changes to a deep, true blood red. I really love this one since I adore a good red. Unfortunately, my skin tone doesn't like yellow toned reds. Never stops me from wearing them though!

This is 2 coats of Sorcerer's Stone, with top coat, when warm:

Man! I LOVE a good red. Add glitter and my little heart just pitter patters. But, we're not done! Let's take a peak at Sorcerer's Stone when cold (Please ignore my odd skin tone in all of the pics of this polish. It does not play well with yellow based reds):

If I didn't already love this polish, this color change would be the kicker. I love deep, dark, blood reds, and this one is just too gorgeous. That red glitter.....*swoon!*

Sorcerer's Stone's formula is true Polish TBH awesomeness. A touch on the thick side, but not so thick that it's problematic, and no thickening during use. Application was stellar with no dragging, balding, or clumpy glitters. Opacity is perfect - this could almost be a one coater, but 2 is perfect. Dry time is ultra-fast and wear is excellent with no chips or signs of wear at over 24 hours. This girl does not dry textured, but does dry semi-matte.

Man! Polish TBH thermals are always so amazing. This girl is no exception. Red thermals are always hit or miss for me, and this one really hit the spot. Another must have!

You can grab your very own bottle of Sorcerer's Stone by heading on over to Polish TBH on big cartel. FUll size polishes run $10, save for thermals which run $12. The Diagon Alley Collection (all 6 polishes) runs $55 and comes with a free mini cuticle oil. Grab these while you can, folks! This collection was just re-stocked, but sells out FAST! Also, check out Christian's latest polish, "Work Bitch", inspire by Britney Spears. Man, I have to get my hands on that one! You can follow Polish TBH on Facebook and Instagram for restock info, sales, new releases, and swatches.

What do you think of Sorcerer's Stone? What's your fave thermal?

I'll be back tomorrow with more Indie Awesomeness and my Mish Mash Challenge mani!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
-Kimber

Polish TBH Diagon Alley Collection - Dark and Difficult Times

Press Sample

*Product(s) Featured provided for review. Please see Disclaimer/Legal Page for more information**

Hello there Lovelies! My lord.....it's been awhile since I've posted. I'll be honest - I took some time off for my birthday, and when I was supposed to come back, I found myself a little burnt out. I haven't really taken a true break in 2 years, so I suppose it was time. And if I'm not feeling it, then I'm not putting out my best work, which isn't fair to those that I'm swatching for, or to you. I avoided most things nail related while I was gone, which seemed to help. Even though I still am highly addicted to polish and will be for the rest of my days, I seem to need a break now and then. I hope you all aren't miffed at me. :)

I'm back now, and feeling so much better. And I have a truly fab-u-lous polish to share with you today.

Dark and Difficult Times is another pretty from Polish TBH's new Diagon Alley Collection. It's a darkened blue/grey with black holo and charcoal glitters, and some red/green color shifting flakies to sweet the pot. Christian created this beauty to represent the dark, gloomy skies seen throughout the Harry Potter series, and named her after a quote from Albus Dumbledore ("Dark and difficult times lie ahead. Soon we must each face the choice between what is right, and what is easy").

IMO, Dark and Difficult Times is the showstopper from this collection. Not only is the blue/grey base a fantastic color, but the combination of glitters and flakies is truly unique and brilliant.

This is 2 coats of Dark and Difficult Times with topcoat:

Le Love! Not only do adore blue/grey polish, but flakies!!!!! Let's have a closer look, yes?

Yeah, I know. That's a huuuuge macro! But look at the glitter and flakies! *dead* This baby has definitely stolen my heart.

Dark and Difficult Times has the Polish TBH trademark formula of awesomeness with no glopping, clumpy glitters, or thickening during use. Application was flawless with no dragging, balding, grumpy glitters, etc. Dry time was incredibly fast and opacity is excellent. I'm wearing 3 coats here, but IRL I only really needed 2. This girl also dries fairly smooth, so no need for anything other than top coat.

I am just head over heels for this entire collection so far. I have 2 more to share with you, and they are full of awesome. I can't wait!

You can check out the Diagon Alley Collection and all that Polish TBH has to offer at Polish TBH on Big Cartel. The shop is closed until 9/15, so bookmark that link, loves! Full size polishes currently run $10-12 depending on finish. Act fast on 9/15 since this collection is selling out fast, guys! Be sure to follow Polish TBH on Facebook and Instagram for re-stock info, sales, and swatches.

What do you think of Dark and Difficult Times? Have you grabbed anything from Diagon Alley yet?

I'll be back tomorrow with a beauty from Gothic Gala Lacquers as well as another challenge mani, so be sure to check back soon.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Polish TBH Diagon Alley Collection - Pumpkin Pasties!

Press Sample

*Product(s) Featured provided for review. Please see Disclaimer/Legal Page for more information**

Hello Lovelies! I apologize for the lateness with this post. I swear...this year has just been the worst year for almost everyone I know, and it will not let up. Many of you have read my daughter's story, and I am incredibly saddened to report that the bully that tormented Kalli for over 2 years has decided that one year of being good was enough, and has started in again - of course with a friend. Kalli's school is much better than the school she was in when this happened with this girl last time, however the mere fact that the school board was involved, the police were involved, and many, many people were disciplined over this girl and her constant torture and this girl has the guts to start in again just pisses me off to no end. Scuse my french. I am so over this girl and the school has one change, otherwise I use the phone numbers that I have stashed away (Direct numbers to the Superintendent and head of school police) as well as APD and my lawyer. With my daughter in treatment for sever depression and PTSD and now self-harming, I am not messing around. I'm really not above slapping a 12 year old bully with a restraining order.

Needless to say, I'm dealing with this situation as well as trying to keep my daughter stable and okay, and posting fell to the wayside. I know that all of you understand that my kids come before anything else on earth, but I always feel the need to explain, as well as share since this is the most supportive community that I have ever been blessed to be a part of.

I'll be honest, Polish isn't just a passion for me...It's like Zen. When I sit down to polish my nails, it's like my stress melts away and I'm able to relax and refocus. Which is why I try to keep on posting even though I have a ton of stress and turmoil. Having said that, let's take a look at some flippin' crazy awesome polish!!

Today I have a 3rd killer polish from the new Diagon Alley Collection from Polish TBH. This one is a glitter topper called Pumpkin Pasties, and is very special since it was actually created by Christian's son! How awesome is that? Proceeds from Pumpkin Pasties will go directly to his piggy bank, which is even cooler. I'm fairly certain this kid is going to be rollin' in dough, since this polish is just too awesome for words.

Pumpkin Pasties is a mix of Hot Orange Hexes, 2 different shades of pinks in different sizes, black and white bars, Gold hexes, black and white hexes, and a gold & orange metallic glitter blend in a clear base. Phew! That's a mouthful! But it makes for one really Epic glitter topper.

I chose to layer 1 coat of this beauty over Essie tart Deco, which created a manicure that I do not want to take off. Ever. And peaches/oranges are not my colors!

Oh how this polish makes my knees weak!!! Look at that sparkle, those colors....this is once seriously kick-ass polish. I think Christian's son should make some more for us! Dontcha think?

How about a macro shot??

*Falls over* Can you see those little orange shreds in there???  Yeah, those make me do the happy dance!

Pumpkin Pasties formula is the usual Polish TBH perfection. Even though this baby is packed with glitter, there's no need to dab it on, and no chunks of glitter on the brush to worry about. Application is amazingly easy with the glitter dispersing perfectly on the nail and laying nice and flat. There's also an even mix of the different glitters on the brush, so no need to hand place any of the larger pieces or add extra to certain spots. Pumpkin Pasties dries very smooth for a glitter bomb, and I needed only 1 coat of my usual top coat for a smooth finish. Wear is excellent - in fact I've been wearing this for just over 2 days and have not one sign of wear and not one single lifting glitter.

Pumpkin Pasties is pure awesomesauce, folks. It's been awhile since I have been this in love with a glitter topper (and we all now how much I love glitter toppers, right?), and I'm already planning on ordering a backup bottle.  If you haven't pre-ordered this, mark your calendars and grab a bottle first thing on Saturday morning. You need this. Period.

You can find the Diagon Alley Collection and all of the Polish TBH pretties at Polish TBH on Big Cartel. Full size polishes range from $10-$12 depending on finish, and the Diagon Alley Collection is also available in a full set for $55 full size or $22 mini. The Diagon Alley pre-order is unfortunately finished, but the collection will go on sale this Saturday, 8/31. Also making a triumphant return is one of my fave polishes of all time, Tiny Dancer! I guarantee that not only with Diagon Alley sell out, but Tiny Dance will as well, so I highly recommend some serious store stalking on Saturday. You can also follow Polish TBH on Facebook and Instagram for updates, swatches, and the release time on Saturday.

What do you lovelies think of Pumpkin Pasties? Is this not the ultimate Fall glitter?? *swoons*

I'll be back tomorrow (I can't guarantee what time, but I'll make it!) with more from the Diagon Alley Collection! I also have some awesome polish from Gothic Gala,  Squishy Face Polish, Cinema Swatch Lacquers, Euphoria Lacquers and Mint Polish lined up for next week.

Since Monday is my birthday, I'm probably taking the day off, but I'll share my bday Mani on Tuesday. I also have a really Epic giveaway in the works that should go live next week, so be sure to keep an eye out!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Polish TBH Diagon Alley Collection - Chocolate Frogs

Press Sample

*Product(s) Featured provided for review. Please see Disclaimer/Legal Page for more information**

Hello Lovelies! I'm back! I had some computer issues, but my brilliant hubby managed to find the problem and I am now able to upload pics in less than 8 hours again. I guess I need to learn to move files off my mac and onto my external drive since 8 billion nail photos will apparently slow my computer down in a big way.

Since I was MIA yesterday, I'm working on 2 posts for today. Hopefully my schedule complies! Post number 2 will be an evening post for sure, but I'm determined to get it done.

As you all know, Polish TBH has created an amazing fall collection. Inspired by Harry Potter, this 6 polish collection is aptly named Diagon Alley. Today I have another awesome polish from this collection to share.

Chocolate Frogs. Only in the Hogwart's Universe could there ever be a chocolate that not only looks like a frog, but acts like one too. If you happen to be living under a rock and have yet to see a chocolate frog, check out this short video that I stumbled across on You Tube.  Credit to Cheekonyourface for the video.

I dunno about you guys, but I don't like having to chase my chocolate. Although you may be able to train these to just jump into your mouth. But onto the polish!

Chocolate Frogs, the polish, is a gorgeous shimmery Chocolate Brown with Gold, Copper, Navy Blue and Sea Green glitters in various shapes and sizes.  I'll be the first to admit that I'm not usually drawn to Browns (they make me look very pink), but this polish is just too gorgeous. It's a bit of a chameleon as well, shifting from a deep, Chocolate Brown to a shimmery Copper Brown in different lighting conditions. You'll see what I mean below!

This is 2 coats of Chocolate Frogs, with top coat:

Beautiful, right? But wait! There's more! How about a macro shot so we can ooooh and ahhhh at that shimmery base and those fabulous glitters?

Yeah, I am really digging this polish. The Navy Blue glitters combined with the Chocolate Brown base and those lovely Gold glitters really make this for me. And do I see a touch of iridescent glitter in there? Hmmmm... Toss is some Sea Foam Green for added color and voila! Instant win. Plus, it makes me a touch hungry. I may need to run out and grab some chocolate.

Chocolate Frogs' formula is stellar, which is right on par with my expectations. It's from polish TBH - I've yet to be let down with any Polish TBH pretty. There is a LOT of glitter in this girl, so it may appear thick when you first pull the brush out, but do not be fooled! There is no need for thinner. Application was fabulous as well with no dragging, balding, or glitter clumps. In fact, Chocolate Frogs applies quite smoothly. Dry time was great, and CF dries smooth so need need for anything other than your regular top coat. I will mention that if you wrap your tips with this, you will need to wrap on every coat, since you'll need to wipe all that glitter off the brush. Small price to pay for such an epic polish!

Having said that, I have to mention that this mani did not want to live. This is actually my second swatch of Chocolate Frogs since I managed to keep whacking my middle finger on my polish table. In fact, I whacked it with this swatch as well, but decided that it wasn't that obvious since it's at the tip and pushed on. You'd think I would be aware of that darn table by now, right?

The Diagon Alley Collection pre-order is already closed, but this collection will be available at Polish TBH on Big Cartel on 8/31. Be sure to check out Polish TBH on Facebook and Instagram for release information, swatches, promotions, etc.

What are your thoughts on Chocolate Frogs?

I'll be back this evening with some Cinema Swatch Lacquers!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Polish TBH Diagon Alley Collection - Amortentia!!

Press Sample

*Product(s) Featured provided for review. Please see Disclaimer/Legal Page for more information**

Hello Lovelies! Happy (very late) Caturday! At least it's still Saturday here....

I meant to have this post up much sooner today, but since there's always something going on around here, that just didn't happen. But here I am now, with some Epic goodness to share.

I'm sure by now you've all seen me doing the happy dance over the Polish TBH's Fall Collection. It's a 6 polish collection inspired by Harry Potter, and aptly named "Diagon Alley" (Did he say Diagonally? I think he said Diagonally!").  Lemme tell ya, in true Polish TBH form, this collection is epic. It's rockin' my socks, loves!

The first polish I have to show you is Amortentia. Named after the potion that is "the strongest love potion in the world", Amortentia is a mix of Rosy Pink, Grey, various sizes of white, and scattered holo microglitters in a clear base.  Although this polish matches the potion perfectly, I was not able to smell anything related to my partner (past, present, or future) in this. ;)

This is 1 coat of Amortentia over Essence Ballerina's Charm. **Click to view larger, sharper image. Blogger is not playing nicely with my photos lately!**

I absolutely love how soft this glitter is. It's absolutely stunning and eye-catching while still retaining a softer, more feminine feel. The holo in this polish was a bit camera shy, but is very evident IRL.

Gratuitous Macro Shot!

Amortentia's formula is true Polish TBH awesomesauce. Chrissy's formula is never less than stellar. Application was easy peasy, although I did use the dab method with this one since the larger glitters aren't as prevalent as the micro-holo. Very easy dab application though - it took maybe 3 or pats of the brush to cover the entire nail, no fishing required, and the glitters all stayed put and lay flat right away. Dry time was incredibly fast and wear is excellent. I'm still wearing this (and staring at it often) and despite whacking my hands against the table, the fridge, countertops and opening boxes, I don't have  single loose glitter.

Amortentia is definitely a new favorite for me. I love the colors, the glitter mix, and even though Chrissy mentioned she would be adding more glitter to this one, I actually dig that it's not absolutely packed with glitter. It gives the micro-holo a chance to shine and enhances your base color without being overpowering. With or without more glitter, this polish is a classic beauty and I'll be reaching for it often.

The Diagon Alley Collection is now available for pre-order at Polish TBH on Big Cartel. Full size polishes run $10, save for Sorcerer's Stone which is $12 (it's a thermal!). The entire collection is also available as a set for $55 Full Size or $22 mini. Follow Polish TBH on Facebook and Instagram for updates!

How do you like Amortentia? Are you excited to see the rest of this awesome collection?

I'll be back with the next polish fro Diagon Alley tomorrow! I'll also have a bonus post with some Cinema Swatch Lacquers for ya!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Flakie Friday (Slacker Saturday Edition!)! Polish TBH Blue Reef

 Press Sample

*Product(s) Featured provided at discount for review. Please see Disclaimer/Legal Page for more information**

Hello Lovelies! I am such a bad blogger! I've been teasing you for 24 hours about this polish. In my defense, I had an under the weather 3 year old yesterday afternoon and evening, so I wasn't able to sit down and write up the post. I tried, but he just was not having it! But, here I am now, ready to share some epicness with you all.

First Epic item - I woke up from a nap yesterday to find that Scrangie is following me on Instagram!!!!! OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost died....I am a huge fan of Scrangie. In fact, she is one of the 2 bloggers that inspired me to start my little blog, and I still read her daily. Seeing that follow notification just made my day. I've had a case of the Blogger Blues lately, and that really perked me up! Also, if you're not following me on Instagram, you should!!!

For this week's Flakie Friday, I knew exactly which polish I would be sharing wayyyyy ahead of time. I am a devout Polish TBH fan (you should be too!), and when I opened my package containing the Summer Aquarium Collection, this baby jumped out and practically begged to be worn. I had to tell it no for awhile, since it's special and was born to be a Flakie Friday feature polish. It kept calling to me, but I held out. Barely.

Blue Reef is a vibrant blue jelly, packed with blue holo glitter and various sizes of blue, purple, and green iridescent flakes. Such a gorgeous combo! It reminds me of a tropical beach - the crystal clear blue water with color shifting ripples. Just delicious! I adore the entire Summer Aquarium Collection, but this is certainly a stand out.

This is 3 coats of Blue Reef topped with NPB Glitter Food and Glossy Glam Top Coat. I do want to mention that you will see a bit of shrinkage at my free edge - I'm having some issues with the Glossy Glam and shrinkage. I know it's just my bottle though, since I'm literally the only one that has had this problem. Ricarda is a wonderful person though and is sending me a replacement (mine is actually pretty thick, and it's not supposed to be) And despite that, I still recommend grabbing some Glossy Glam, because it is honestly a fabulous top coat. I'll have a review up this coming week.  But onto the polish!

Okay, look at that blue! Look at those flakies! RAWR!!!!!!!!! I think the one thing that really makes this for me is those purple micro-flakies. They give this polish a gorgeous blue to purple color shift, which is one of my fave combos. Just looking at this makes me want to whip it out and wear it again. I could happily live in this polish.

But wait! There's more! After you're done laughing at my Ron Popeil moment there, check out this macro shot:

Hello!!!!!! Tell me this is not just sexy as all get out. Those colors! I die!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blue Reef's formula was pure Polish TBH Awesomesauce - perfect consistency, no thickening, no clumpy glitters or heavy, stiff flakies. Application was easy as pie with no balding, dragging, or unruly glitters/flakies. Dry time is incredibly fast as well. Blue Reef does dry slightly matte and a bit textured, so I added a coat of NPB Glitter Food to smooth things out, as well as a coat of Glossy Glam Top Coat. Wear is excellent with no chips or tip wear at 24 hours.

I'm just...wow. I really don't have the words. This polish just blew me away. I can't get over those flashes of purple within that perfect, vibrant, squishy blue.

If you haven't grabbed some Polish TBH, you do not know what you're missing. Honestly folks, I have no idea why everyone isn't stalking the store on new release/restock days. Christian makes one of the best polishes out there - no joke. Not only does she make just amazing colors and incredible glitter combos, but I have yet to have a single problem with a Polish TBH creation. Every single polish has been perfection, and I can say that since I literally own every single polish she has released.

You can find Polish TBH on Big Cartel.  Full size polishes sell for $8, and Christian has just released a Mystery Grab bag for $15. Right now you can grab polishes from the Girl, Please Collection for just $6! I also urge you to check out Midnight and Hidden while you're there - 2 of my all time favorites! I'll actually be wearing them again soon since they're just so epic. The fall collection is in the works and you can see some sneak peeks by following Polish TBH on Facebook and Instagram.

Are you guys diggin Blue Reef as much as I am?

I'll be back later today (really, I will!) with some Femme Fatale, so check back soon! I also have some Gypsyanna Polish, Love Angeline, Shimmer Polish and Luscious Potion coming up this week, as well as more challenge nails.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

Polish TBH Summer Aquarium Collection - Sun Coral

Press Sample

*Product(s) Featured discounted for review. Please see Disclaimer/Legal Page for more information**

Good evening, lovelies! I know, another late night post! It's been one of those days where I had a lot to accomplish, yet managed to get just a little done. Thankfully I have most of tomorrow to get some swatching done!

Today I have some new Polish TBH to share! Man, I always get so excited when new Christian releases new collections. Polish TBH is one of my all time fave Indie Brands, and you can tell since I own every single polish that Christian has released. The Summer Aquarium Collection is a 5 polish collection chock full of bright, squishy, sparkly goodness. I had one heck of a time deciding which one to wear first, but in the end a surprise favorite won out.

Polish TBH Sun Coral:

If you're not familiar with Sun Coral, look above! I love aquatic life, and corals are a particular fave. Sun Coral is so beautiful and vibrant - what a great choice for some polish inspiration!

Sun Coral, the polish, is a vibrant mix of bright orange, pink, and gold (shifting to green) glitters, gold flakies and gold microglitter in a yellow/orange jelly base. When I first saw this polish in the bottle, I knew I would dig it, but I had no idea that I would fall head over heels. I love bright oranges, but yellow/orange isn't a color that looks all that awesome on me. Sun Coral makes me not even come close to caring - it's that nifty.

This is 3 coats of Sun Coral with top coat. The first pic is in direct light to show color and depth. The rest are in indirect, light box lighting. :

Folks, I have no words. I just love this polish so hard! Look at that color, the squishiness! Love, love, love!!!!!!!! Since Sun Coral rocks so hard, let's have a macro shot!

See all that shimmer? That's all those gold flakes and microglitter. This baby really shines. And talk about a unique polish - I have yet to see anything that's really like Sun Coral. Christian truly captured the color and beauty of sun coral.

Sun Coral's formula is typical Polish TBH perfection with no thickening, glopping or clumpy glitters. Application was excellent - so much so that part of me wanted to keep polishing after the 3rd coat! No dragging, bald spots, streaking or unruly glitters. SC is on the sheer side, you will need all 3 coats for opacity. No need for Glitter Food with this one, my regular top coat was all I needed for a smooth, glassy surface. Dry time was exceptional and wear is top notch - I'm actually still wearing this polish and have zero signs of wear after a good 30 hours or so.

You know what I'm going to say here, right? If you don't have this polish, haul hiney over to PolishTBH at Big Cartel and grab it while it's still around. In fact, grab several. I also recommend Midnight, since it's one of my top 5 fave fave polishes of all time. Polish TBH is one of those brands that is top notch quality with unique colors. I have never been disappointed with a Polish TBH creation.  Full size bottles run $8, thermals are $10. There are some polishes on sale for $6 at the moment as well. You can follow Polish TBH on Instagram and Facebook for new releases, sales info, and swatches.

What do you think of Sun Coral? Are you into bold colors like this one?

I'll be back tomorrow with another Try It Out Tuesday! I also have some upcoming releases from Candied Lustre that I should have up tomorrow and Wednesday (Definitely Wednesday, tomorrow is a possibility but it schedule dependent).

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
