ABC Challenge - M is for Model's Own featuring Born Pretty Stamping Plates

Hello Lovelies! I meant to have this post up yesterday, but man! The universe had other plans. Not only was my computer having issues with my photos (figured out that my memory was full and I had to get rid of a TON of stuff), but the response to Kalli's story has been...well, incredible. I never dreamed that so many people would be touched by her story and what she has been through. I'm so grateful that people have been sharing it and taking it to heart. I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. I am just overwhelmed by all of your supportive and wonderful comments. This community is just wonderful and I am so blessed to be a part of it. 

Today's ABC Challenge post is brought to you by the letter "M". Since it is still Autism Awareness Month, I went for another blue shade, Model's Own Aqua Violet. 

Aqua Violet is a gorgeous duochrome shade that shifts from a stunning teal blue to purple. I've been sitting on this polish for a good year now, and this was the perfect opportunity to try it out.  I also knew from the moment that I saw this polish that I wanted to use a cheetah stamp with it. I recently received this really cool stamping plate from Born Pretty Store that has an awesome cheetah image. I used that plate and Konad black to stamp the cheetah image, and I am very happy with the results!

This is also my first tie stamping my stilettos, and I'm over the moon with how it turned out. I was hesistant to go full stiletto (my left hand is squared, even after my huge break and with nubbins) since I wasn't sure how they would look stamped and I love stamping enough to not want to give it up.  Now that I've stamped them, I'm leaning more towards going stiletto on both hands!

This is 3 coats of Model's Own Aqua Violet, stamped with Born Pretty Plate QA8 and Konad Black:

     


























Look at that duochrome! Love!! I think this is one of my top duochromes ever. And I really dig it stamped!

I was also very impressed with the Born Pretty Store stamping plate. The image is deeply engraved and transfered almost perfectly. I had no issues with having to re-stamp a single nail with this one.   The images are wide enough to fit my nails, which are fairly wide on my left hand. They were also long enough to cover my talons, which aren't exactly short.

I love these images. I can't resist a good checkerboard image, and check out the skull and crossbones!! I can't wait to use that one!

31 Day Challenge (v.2!) Day 11: Polka Dots!

Morning Ladies! Welcome to Day 11 of the 31 Day Challenge! Today's Challenge is Polka Dot Nails, and I have to tell you... have been looking forward to this one since Day 1!

I adore Dotticures. I would wear one every day if I could! So of course this was one of the challenges that I could not wait for. I took my inspiration from a corset I have on my Amazon Wishlist (I also LOVE corsets). The corset is slightly different from my Manicure - it's actually similar colored dots within dots on white, but man! I try to avoid a white base unless it's absolutely necessary.

For this mani I started with a base of OPI Skull and Glossbones, the only neutral color I have ever actually gone looking for! I added my dots using several different sized dotting tools, the end of some nail art brushes, and Wet N Wild Disturbia, Sinful Colors Winterberry, Model's Own Purple Grey and of course, Skull and Glossbones. I'm very happy with how this turned out, and even managed to post less then 30 thousand pics! ;) **Edit** Even though I only selected 5 pics, Blogger insisted on posting them all. Oh well!

Please ignore my misshapen nails. I made the mistake of filing with something other than my glass file (I dropped it. I am a sad panda.) and with naked nails. Never again!

And now.....dun dun dun! Polka Dot Nails!

Still need to work on my dotting, but I do love these. The corset has some dots within dots that are slightly off center, but I had trouble re-creating the effect. Overall I'm pleased though and do not want to take these off! Buuuuut...I have more Lustre Shine polishes to show you guys (Honestly I can't wait to be done with those. I'm getting tired of wearing duochromes. Sacrilege! I know!).

Model's Own Beetlejuice Collection: Purple Blue

Hello ladies! Happy Saturday!!

Today I have a polish I have been lemming for sooo long. Thanks to Laura, I now own this beauty and just could not wait to share it!

Purple Blue is part of the Model's Own Beetlejuice Collection, and is a gorgeous purple/blue duochrome. Actually I'm more inclined to call this a multichrome since it flashes so many different shades of purple and blue, lighting dependent of course.  I apologize in advance for the multitude of photos, but I just could not capture this girl in one light. I took shots in sunlight, direct light, indirect light, natural light..you name it. This polish is such a chameleon. I am very much in love! After wearing this girl, I cannot wait to wear the other polish from this collection that Laura sent me, and I plan on ordering more. If you're a fan of duo/multichromes, these babies are must haves!

Details:
1 coat OPI Nail Eny Matte
1 coat Instant Artificials Base Coat
3 coats Model's Own Purple Blue
1 coat Seche Vite

First, in low lighting. This is where the colors in this polish really shine.  Just look at her! Wow!

And now in indirect lighting:

I didn't post the sunlight pics since she tends to just flash a strong purple in sunlight and the color shift isn't nearly as apparent. But man! Isn't she just gorgeous? I love the colors as well as the flecked appearance of the polish. Pure awesomesauce!!

Formula:
I was very impressed with the formula on this girl. Not too thick, not too thin. No pooling, dragging, or thickening.

Application:
This polish applies smooth as silk. I used 3 thin coats, and had zero problem controlling where the polish went. It definitely needs all 3 coats for opacity, but would look awesome layered as well.

I could rave about this polish all day long, but instead I think I'll just go and order more colors from this collection! Do you own any of the Beetlejuice Collection? What's your fave?
