Born Pretty Candy Color Yogurt series Nail Polish-Color 13

Hoy les traigo un esmalte simplemente hermoso! Aunque ya estamos en otoño, este esmalte es hermoso también para esta temporada, ya que tiene un color verde-grisáceo aunque también es brillante, con glitter de varios tamaños de color rojo, amarillo, azul, verde y rosa!!

Daisy de Born Pretty Store fue muy amable en enviarme este esmalte para mostrarlo a mis bellas (os) lectores!! El esmalte que me envió es el Candy Color Glitter Sparkle Yogurt Series Varnish- #3 y es eco-amigable

La aplicación fue muy buena y el glitter no es difícil de ''atrapar'', 2 capas cubren perfecto la uña, el acabado es jelly o un poco translúcido y eso hace que parezca un glitter sandwich obteniendo nail art instantaneo!!! lo único que no me gusto de este esmalte es que dura mucho para secar completamente, la solución para esto es esperar bien a que cada capa seque completamente ;). 

Me encantan todos los colores que incluyeron en este esmalte casi lo hace parecer inspirado en esmaltes indie y eso es muy bueno por que podemos ver esmaltes únicos y hermosos!!

Born Pretty Store Holo Polish - # 11 (Violet)

Hello Lovelies! Phew! What a Monday! I don't think I've stopped running around until just now. I'm about ready to fall over, but I have new pretties that have arrived so sleep is not an option! Here's a hint - Keep an eye out for some movie related polishes!

I am a bit bummed out though. Remember all that damage to the nail that was left from the nipping and resulting infection? That has finally reached the center to tip of my free edge. The damaged areas are ultra thin and last night my pinky split vertically down the free edge. Thankfully I was able to patch it, but since I really don't want to lose my length already, I grabbed some Nail Repair today to keep on over the damaged spots on those nails. Since I use a peel off base coat as my very first layer of polish, I'm hoping that I won't have to keep repairing them and the damage can grow out with no further incidents. WIsh me luck!

Today I have one of the new Holographic Polishes from Born Pretty Store to share with you. I know you've probably seen this one several times, but it's so beautiful that I couldn't resist it.  Plus you all know how much I love Born Pretty Store. The second I saw that they had holos, I had to have one!

Born Pretty Store Holo Polish #11 is a lovely Violet Linear Holo. In sunlight, this baby has some pretty good holo cation going on. Indoors, you can see the holo fairly well in brighter lighting, otherwise it appears a dusty purple. It's really pretty either way, but we all want that linear effect right?

So, let's take a look! All photos are 2 coats of Born Pretty Store Holo Polish #11 topped with HK Girl Top Coat (yup! No dulling holos here!). These were taken outdoors, in full sunlight.  I apologize if these look grainy - they don't look that way in any of my photo programs so I have no idea what blogger did to them. :( If you click to enlarge them, they're not as weird.

Gorgeous! I love how vibrant this color is while still being a touch dusty. The holo is absolutely not shy in the light, as you can kind of see in the above photos. I still cant figure out why they're so grainy here but are fine anywhere else. But, since I love the holo in this so much, let's take a closer look so you can get a better idea of the holo goodness...

Oh hai Rainbow There you are! Yowza!!! That's some beautiful holo goodness right there, am I right?

Born Pretty Store Holo Polish #11's formula was very impressive. Perfect consistency with no annoying thickening. Application was truly wonderful, even though I used my regular ridge filling basecoat. I experienced very little balding at the cuticle line, no dragging, and dry time was lovely and fast. I did use top coat with this, since HK Girl does not dull holos.

I'm pretty impressed with this polish and really want to try out a few more of these Born Pretty holos. I wasn't expecting the holo to be quite this prevalent, or the quality to be this nice. I have some fairly high end holos that don't apply as well as this one.

Hoy les tengo un esmalte hermoso!! creo que es uno de los 5 favoritos en mi colección! Hace mas o menos un mes y medio la tienda online Born Pretty Store me envió una invitación para mostrar un producto de su tienda en mi blog, me pidieron que eligiera un producto, la verdad no sabia que escoger tienen muchisima variedad de productos para nail art!! pero en cuanto vi la nueva colección de esmaltes holográficos supe que tenia que tener uno!!!

La colección consiste en 12 colores con glitter holografico linear de 6ml 0.2 Oz. cada uno , yo escogí el color #12.

Es un esmalte de color verde oscuro con un fuerte efecto holografico, incluso se puede ver el glitter en la sombra! su aplicación fue muy buena ya que solo tuve que utilizar dos capas para cubrir perfectamente cada uña, lo único que no me gusto es la tapa del esmalte ya que tiene muy corta la brocha pero por este esmalte tan bello creo que puedo omitir ese detalle jeje.

Me llamó la atención que el Holo polish #12 de Born Pretty Store es muy similar a el famoso lizard belly de glitter gal, aunque dicen que el de Born pretty  es mucho mejor y mas bonito!!
Por ultimo les muestro una foto que tome con luz artificial sin flash en la noche, todavia pueden apreciar muy bien el efecto holografico!!

Flowery Water Decals from Born Pretty Store

Hello Lovelies! I'm actually posting during the day, two days in a row! Woohoo! I had actually planned on posting this yesterday evening, but my schedule wasn't about to let that happen, so here I am.

Today I have some really cool Water Decals that I received from Born Pretty Store to share with you. I have no idea why I don't use water decals more often. The few times I have used them I have really loved them, so you would think I would wear them more than once or twice a year. These water decals came out so awesome that I've decided that I now need a complete arsenal of them!

In all honesty I wasn't entirely sold on them when I saw them on the sheet, but the design was so pretty that I took a chance. I'm glad I did! On the nail these look awesome! And water decals are so quick and easy that you really can't lose.

I chose to use mine over 2 coats of Salon Perfect Baby Blue, and I love the results!

Love it! What an awesome way to spice up a plain manicure! I had several people ask me how I did this manicure, which always means it's a win.

These Water Decals were so simple to use. Just pop the decal into a cup of water for 20-30 seconds, remove from the water, slide the design off the paper backing and place onto the nail. They aren't sticky, so you have a bit to move the design around if you don't place it perfectly the first time, and if it dries before you get it right? Just wet the decal with a few drops of water and move into place. Add topcoat and you're done! Couldn't be any easier, right? They wear incredibly well too - I had no lifting or peeling with these and I wore them for over 24 hours. Removal is simple - just remove normally with acetone and they melt off in seconds.

Faux Flakie Friday! Incredibly late Sunday version, cause I'm a slacker.

Good Morning Lovelies! I am a slacker! Well, not on purpose, but here it is Sunday morning and I'm just now managing to post my Flakie Friday mani. Maybe I should've called it Slacker Sunday. ;)

I had intended to post this Friday evening, but I ended up at my mom's house, watching my kids soak each other with water balloons and by the time I made it home I had so much else to do that I couldn't get to my post. Yesterday was so sweltering hot that I honestly couldn't accomplish anything. So I took the kiddos over to moms and they played in the pool and kept cool. I am not a hot weather girl, and it's been incredibly hot here lately. I plan on cranking up the AC today since we're finally getting it up and running today (darn thing eats parts like nobodys business). It's also been wonderful to just hang out and spend time with my mom. That last hospital stay really scared us. I'm over there twice a day to give her an anti-coagulant injection anyway, but being there with the kids has been really lovely.

Today's Flakie is one of those polishes where I sat under a lamp and played a rousing game of "Flakie? Not a Flakie?" for a good hour. I settled on glitter, but looks like a very fine flakie so it's going to count today because I really wanted to wear it. See what I did there? Justification. Even if you guys determine that it doesn't count, I'm still counting it since I loved it enough to attempt to cheat!

This beauty is one of my 35 brand new Catrice polishes that the ever so awesome Simona from Light Your Nails was kind enough to pick up for me. Let me tell you - I am so excited about these Catrice polishes! There is a true flakie in the bunch, but this one was really calling to me. It's Calm Call from the Siberian Call Collection and it's a shiny black base with multicolored glitters and what appears to be very fine silver flakes, but could very well be glitter that just looks like flakes. Either way, it's beautiful and one of my favorite twists on black.

I really wanted to play with some of the awesome loose glitters that I received from Born Pretty Store as well, so I added a frame with silver glitters, stamped my accent nail with a honeycomb image from Dashica plate SDP-A, and filled in the honeycombs with glitters. The result is a lot of fun!

I will warn you guys, these were taken early in the morning before I had a chance to moisurize so my hands look a bit dry. I've been horrible about moisturizing my hands the past few days. I never forget my Pure Nail Oil, but my hands? Yeah...I've been bad! I also managed to shape my nails (and finally hit the cuticle remover) after this, so ignore the weird off center shape.

I also wanted to show you all my Moustache. It took me weeks to grow it! ;)

This is 2 coats of The Calm Call with Born Pretty Store silver glitter (which I assure you are all there - the silver glitters have to catch the light just right or they blend into the polish):

Oh how I love black with a little oomph! The Calm Call is definitely a new favorite black polish. The glittery frames really made this for me though, and the accent nail was so blingy that driving was dangerous!

The Calm Call's formula was fabulous, which was a relief since I had read several blog posts stating that the formula was less than stellar. I had no problems at all. Application was lovely as well, even though this girl has one of the fluffy Catrice brushes. Bad brushes I can handle, and since this pretty had no other issues at all, I was totally able to overlook the brush.

The loose glitters from Born Pretty Store were probably the most fun I've had working on a manicure in awhile. Maybe it's just me, but playing with shiny glitter makes me happy. These were easy to use (just place a dot of topcoat where you want the glitter, then use a dotting tool, toothpick or tweezers to place the glitter onto the dot of topcoat. Repeat as desired, seal with topcoat and done!) and looked fabulous! I was very impressed with their staying power as well - I had worried that I would be replacing them all day long, but I only managed to loose 1 glitter, and that was my while doing some gardening. They're also so very versatile - and since I have 12 pots of them, I foresee lots of glittery nail art in my future.

 Hello Lovelies! Welcome to another (late) ABC Challenge post! I swear one of these days I will get a challenge post up on time. Lately its seems that just when I get ahead something happens to put me behind again. This time it was plain old exhaustion. I've been staying up until around 5 am every night for weeks now since Dex has been highly resistant to going to bed. I stay up and do a manicure and watch Angel with B (I got him into that show...he denies it but he loves it!), and head to bed around 430-5am. Then I am back up around 8am. Yesterday my body said no more, and I ended up napping for around 3 hours in the afternoon and I passed out with Dex around 1130 last night. I feel nice and rested today though, so hopefully I'll be able to get ahead again today. 

Actually, it took me 4 hours to get this posted. For some reason blogger would not upload any photos! I had to mess with it for a good while, reboot my router countless times and switch to a different browser twice to get these uploaded. Hopefully this is a temporary issue - I do not want to have to deal with that more than once.

Today's challenge letter is "P", which I have to admit I had much larger plans for. I ran out of time and ended up going with some stamping, since I'm trying to work in more nail art these days. I do alot of Indie swatches, which is okay since Indies are my passion, but I miss nail art. I think stamping counts, and I really do love to stamp. 

For this challenge I chose a polish from one of my very fave indie brands, Polish TBH (in fact, I should have some more showing up today, I hope! I love new review polishes!). The polish is called "Luster Dust", and is from the brand new Spring Collection. This baby is a layering polish that consits of tiny pink flakies that shift in the light from purple to blue. I chose to use multiple coats of this color to bring out the pink, but I plan on swatching this alone to show the color shift. 

I started with a base of Orly's In The Navy, a beautiful deep, shimmery navy blue. I added 3 coats of Polish TBH Luster Dust (since I wanted to really see the pink), then stamped with In The Navy and Born Pretty Store plate QA8. I dig the way it turned out, but it was very hard to capture in pics. IRL Luster Dust is so very Vibrant, and the navy blue is much more shimmery. 

I could not hold onto the mini bottle to save my ilfe, so most of the photos show the Orly bottle. :) My stilettos were getting way long, and since they were looking ragged and I can't hold onto mini bottles, I shaped them and took a little length off last night. 

I am loving Luster Dust! I'm a huge Polish TBH fan anyway, but this baby is just awesome! I love how you just one coat gives a slight duochrome shift, but you can build up into this awesome shimmery pink. This is the second time I've worn this, and I just love it. I promise to show Luster Dust without stamping, and at one coat soon!

LD's formula and application were awesome. LD is a touch thicker than I expected, but I did not need thinner at all. This girl spread out onto the nail evenly and was easy to control. One coat is perfect for a subtle hint of pink with a slight blue shift, 2-3 coats builds up the pink. Obviously this looks fabulous layered over darker colors, but is actually really pretty over pink and purple as well.

The stamping plate I used is from Born Pretty Store, plate QA-8, Item number 4938. This is the same plate that I used for my letter M manicure, and I love it! You'll definitely be seeing more of the designs from this plate - it has checkerboards and skull and crossbones images! The engraving on this plate is wonderful - nice and deep with no rough spots. The images transfer perfectly and I have yet to need to re-do a single nail with these images. This little gem sells for a whopping $2.99, and for that price? It's a steal! ABC Challenge - M is for Model's Own featuring Born Pretty Stamping Plates

Hello Lovelies! I meant to have this post up yesterday, but man! The universe had other plans. Not only was my computer having issues with my photos (figured out that my memory was full and I had to get rid of a TON of stuff), but the response to Kalli's story has been...well, incredible. I never dreamed that so many people would be touched by her story and what she has been through. I'm so grateful that people have been sharing it and taking it to heart. I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. I am just overwhelmed by all of your supportive and wonderful comments. This community is just wonderful and I am so blessed to be a part of it. 

Today's ABC Challenge post is brought to you by the letter "M". Since it is still Autism Awareness Month, I went for another blue shade, Model's Own Aqua Violet. 

Aqua Violet is a gorgeous duochrome shade that shifts from a stunning teal blue to purple. I've been sitting on this polish for a good year now, and this was the perfect opportunity to try it out.  I also knew from the moment that I saw this polish that I wanted to use a cheetah stamp with it. I recently received this really cool stamping plate from Born Pretty Store that has an awesome cheetah image. I used that plate and Konad black to stamp the cheetah image, and I am very happy with the results!

This is also my first tie stamping my stilettos, and I'm over the moon with how it turned out. I was hesistant to go full stiletto (my left hand is squared, even after my huge break and with nubbins) since I wasn't sure how they would look stamped and I love stamping enough to not want to give it up.  Now that I've stamped them, I'm leaning more towards going stiletto on both hands!

This is 3 coats of Model's Own Aqua Violet, stamped with Born Pretty Plate QA8 and Konad Black:

     


























Look at that duochrome! Love!! I think this is one of my top duochromes ever. And I really dig it stamped!

I was also very impressed with the Born Pretty Store stamping plate. The image is deeply engraved and transfered almost perfectly. I had no issues with having to re-stamp a single nail with this one.   The images are wide enough to fit my nails, which are fairly wide on my left hand. They were also long enough to cover my talons, which aren't exactly short.

I love these images. I can't resist a good checkerboard image, and check out the skull and crossbones!! I can't wait to use that one!
