Hello Lovelies! Man, it has been a crazy day. For some reason the business is booked solid at the moment and I've been in and out all day. 7 clients may not seem like much, but at one hour per client, 15-45 minutes drive time each way, plus all my usual responsibilities, my day is already gone.  I feel fairly triumphant actually getting this posted before midnight!

Today I have a new Indie Brand to share with you all. Gothic Gala Lacquers just opened shop late last month, but I have been stalking Sam and her polishes for a few months on Facebook and Instagram. I just had a feeling when I saw that first pic that Gothic Gala was going to be something special.

The first GG Polish that I'm sharing with you lovelies is Welcome To The Ball, a freaking stunning mix of various holographic glitters and microglitter in a charcoal base. Normally I save the big whammy for last, but I couldn't resist this one. It was calling my name way before it even made it to me!

This is 2 coats of Welcome To The Ball topped with NPB Glitter Food and HK Girl Top Coat:

Oh. My. God. Can we just take a moment to bask in the glory of this gorgeous polish?? Those holo glitters, the microglitter, that charcoal color....it's all just perfection. It's happy in a bottle, I tell you! But wait! There's more! How about a macro shot so we can bask in the holo action?

I want to point out that the glitter in the top right corner has an actual RAINBOW. So awesome.

Welcome To The Ball's Formula is so impressive that I really had a hard time believing that this is from a debut collection. I experienced no thickening, clumping glitters, and no no need to shake the hell out of the bottle to blend things up. Application was just as flawless with no dragging, balding, or unruly glitters. Opacity was awesome with full opacity at 2 rather thin coats. Dry time was fairly epic (my nails were dry before I could even reach for my top coat) and wear is incredible. I've actually worn this twice since I managed to somehow delete the first set of photos of this girl, and both time I had zero signs of wear at over 24 hours. WTTB does dry just slightly textured, so I added a coat of Glitter Food to keep things smooth and protect the larger glitters. Between the glitter food and top coat, you would think that the holo effect would be diminished, but that just wasn't the case.  This girl has some VERY strong holo - especially in sunlight. Since I swatch at night, and it's been all sorts of overcast and rainy here, I wasn't able to snap any sunlight pics. I have to admit, Gothic Gala has me excited. Samantha's debut collection is just fabulous and shows incredible potential to keep the unique and gorgeous polishes coming our way. In fact, Welcome To The Ball is the most perfect debut polish I have ever had the pleasure of swatching. You guys really need to snatch it up while it's available (It sells out FAST!)

New Indie Alert!!! Cinema Swatch Lacquers: Emerald City Gates

Hello Lovelies! Happy Wednesday! I'm a touch behind (again....I'm getting used to this) since I received some horrible news from my family in England yesterday. I will not go into it here since I feel it is deeply personal and my family needs their privacy during this incredibly hard time.

Anyway, I will have a Mish Mash Manicure for you all today, however I'm starting the day off with a brand new Indie Brand! I live for finding new and awesome Indie Brands, and this one really stood out to me.

Cinema Swatch Lacquers is a new Indie polish brand focused on Movie themed lacquers. Their first collection centers around The Wizard of Oz, which I find a very fitting entrance. I was lucky enough to receive 4 polishes from this collection to share with you, and all of them are just beautiful. SO let's take a look at my first Cinema Swatch Lacquers polish!

Emerald City Gates boasts a fabulous Olive toned green base packed with emerald, gold, and sapphire micro-glitter. This baby screams Emerald City to me, and makes me want to pull out the movie and grab some popcorn.

This is 3 coats with top coat:

Yowza! I think it's fair to say that this polish is gorgeous! I love a good green, and those microglitters add just the right touch of sparkle. Definitely one of my favorite greens. In fact, I can see myself reaching for this often - I do love those Olive toned greens!

Emerald City Gates' formula is incredibly impressive. I'll be honest- when trying out a brand spankin' new Indie, I don't expect a flawless formula or great application. There's a bit of a learning curve with making polish (so I hear - I'm not talented or patient enough to give it a go myself), but Emerald City Gates hit the mark right out of the gate (pun intended?)! Consistency was lovely - thick enough for great coverage yet thin enough to flow nicely, and I did not have any thickening during use. Application was wonderful as well with no dragging or balding. In fact, this polish flowed onto the nail like liquid silk. ECG is a touch sheer, so you will need 2-3 coats for opacity (I used 3 for intensity). Dry time was incredibly fast, and wear was excellent with no signs of wear at 36 hours.

Talk about an impressive start! Cinema Swatch Lacquers has definitely hit the ground running. I was so impressed with this polish that I literally could not stop showing anyone and everyone who would bother to look. I mean, I have polish from established brands that don't have a formula this good. Same for application. This is definitely a brand to watch. I have 3 more pretties from Cinema Swatch Lacquers to share with you over the coming week or so, and I cannot wait.

Polish TBH Summer Aquarium Collection - Sun Coral

Good evening, lovelies! I know, another late night post! It's been one of those days where I had a lot to accomplish, yet managed to get just a little done. Thankfully I have most of tomorrow to get some swatching done!

Today I have some new Polish TBH to share! Man, I always get so excited when new Christian releases new collections. Polish TBH is one of my all time fave Indie Brands, and you can tell since I own every single polish that Christian has released. The Summer Aquarium Collection is a 5 polish collection chock full of bright, squishy, sparkly goodness. I had one heck of a time deciding which one to wear first, but in the end a surprise favorite won out.

Polish TBH Sun Coral:

If you're not familiar with Sun Coral, look above! I love aquatic life, and corals are a particular fave. Sun Coral is so beautiful and vibrant - what a great choice for some polish inspiration!

Sun Coral, the polish, is a vibrant mix of bright orange, pink, and gold (shifting to green) glitters, gold flakies and gold microglitter in a yellow/orange jelly base. When I first saw this polish in the bottle, I knew I would dig it, but I had no idea that I would fall head over heels. I love bright oranges, but yellow/orange isn't a color that looks all that awesome on me. Sun Coral makes me not even come close to caring - it's that nifty.

This is 3 coats of Sun Coral with top coat. The first pic is in direct light to show color and depth. The rest are in indirect, light box lighting. :

Folks, I have no words. I just love this polish so hard! Look at that color, the squishiness! Love, love, love!!!!!!!! Since Sun Coral rocks so hard, let's have a macro shot!

See all that shimmer? That's all those gold flakes and microglitter. This baby really shines. And talk about a unique polish - I have yet to see anything that's really like Sun Coral. Christian truly captured the color and beauty of sun coral.

Sun Coral's formula is typical Polish TBH perfection with no thickening, glopping or clumpy glitters. Application was excellent - so much so that part of me wanted to keep polishing after the 3rd coat! No dragging, bald spots, streaking or unruly glitters. SC is on the sheer side, you will need all 3 coats for opacity. No need for Glitter Food with this one, my regular top coat was all I needed for a smooth, glassy surface. Dry time was exceptional and wear is top notch - I'm actually still wearing this polish and have zero signs of wear after a good 30 hours or so.

You know what I'm going to say here, right? If you don't have this polish, haul hiney over to PolishTBH at Big Cartel and grab it while it's still around. In fact, grab several. I also recommend Midnight, since it's one of my top 5 fave fave polishes of all time. Polish TBH is one of those brands that is top notch quality with unique colors. I have never been disappointed with a Polish TBH creation.  Full size bottles run $8, thermals are $10. There are some polishes on sale for $6 at the moment as well. Luscious Potion: Vivid Flower - Swatches and Review

Hello lovelies! Happy Thursday! Tomorrow is another payday Friday for me, and I'm incredibly excited since I can actually buy some polish this payday! Woohoo!

Today I have another gorgeous polish from Luscious Potion to share with you all. Luscious Potion has fast become a favorite brand for me, and I'm always excited to wear them. Susan is still fairly new to the Indie game, but her polishes are top notch quality and the colors are just fab.

Vivid Flower is a beautiful blend of Orange hex glitter, fine purple micro glitter and small teal glitter in a Violet base. This polish is from Susan's second collection - Shifting Spring. Susan's first collection (the Disney Collection) was one of the best first collections I've ever tried, and Shifting Spring is even better. She's definitely on a roll here!

This is 3 coats of Vivid Flower with top coat:

Isn't she gorgeous??! I love this shade of purple, even though it does make me look a bit lobstery. I can put up with lobster hands for a polish this pretty!

Vivid Flower's formula was excellent. No thickening during use, no clumpy glitters. Application was stellar with no issues whatsoever. Dry time was super fast and wear was excellent with no chips or signs of wear at 24 hours. The larger orange glitters lie flat on the nail, which I feel the need to mention since the light catches the center of the hexes and makes it appear to be curling in pictures. Totally not the case. Vivid Flower dries just the slightest bit textured, but nothing your regular top coat can't handle.

I am even more impressed with Luscious Potion than I was when I swatched the first collection. The formula (even though the formula was fabulous with the first collection) is even better and application (same thing, it was excellent before) is even smoother. This is just a quality brand and I'm definitely a huge fan.

Wingdust Collections - i am yours and you are mine

Hello Lovelies! Happy Thursday! I am feeling better today since I actually managed to get some sleep last night. Well, in all honesty my body pretty much decided that I had no choice in the matter, and around 9:30 last night I just kind of fell onto the bed and stayed there for a good 4 hours. Then I decided that I was hungry, so I got up, ate, polished, and went back to bed. Much more like my usual sleep pattern, since I normally sleep for a bit after putting the little one to bed, and then get up and polish around 11 or so. I'm hoping that this may be the end of my new found inability to sleep, so keep your fingers crossed!

Today I have an absolutely stunning polish from Wingdust Collections to share with you. This is one of my very fave Wingdust pretties, but I'll be honest - Pics do not do this polish justice. I have yet to see a truly color accurate photo of this girl (Nail Gun XS's are the closest), and mine are no exception.

I am yours and you are mine is an amazing deep red jelly packed with yellow, brown, and purple micro glitter and scattered holo. In natural lighting, this polish has a beautiful almost fuchsia glow that I wasn't able to capture. In fact, she seems to change slightly with different angles, which makes her even more magnificent!

This is 2 coats of I am yours and you are mine with top coat:

*Le Sigh*! Gorgeous, even if it's not perfectly color accurate! Honestly it's not too far off, at least for articficial light. It does have more purple to it IRL, and it's incredibly vibrant. My lighting kind of washes this one out.

Formula and application were both perfect! I had no issues at all with this girl. No thickening, glopping,  or gooping and no balding or dragging. Dry Time was lighting quick and wear is excellent with no chips or tip wear at 24 hours (I even did some gardening in there!). I am yours and you are mine dries relatively smooth as well, so no need for anything other than your usual top coat. Just an excellent polish. But then again, it's Wingdust! I don't think Steph has ever made a polish that was less than perfection. Lucky for me, I still have a few left to share with you (I'm actually behind on these due to my mom's health issues. I suck).

ABC Challenge: "F" is for Fairy Farts!

Hello lovelies! Welcome to another ABC Challenge Post day! I really look forward to challenge days since I get to sit down and do some nail art. Since things have been insane with Sunday's evil emergency and all, I kept it simple this week. Simple, but sexay!

For this week's letter "F" challenge I decided to use Fairy Farts from Kelara Lacquers. Fairy Farts is a gorgeous purple, blue, pink, and holographic micro glitter, and the entire reason I found Kelara Lacquers. I have the sense of humor of a 15 year old boy, so Fairy Farts had me laughing like a lunatic and I just had to have it. I've actually held off on wearing this one so that I could use it for this challenge.

I love Fairy Farts on its own, but I wanted to keep doing nail art for the challenge posts. I decided to use A-England Camelot, my go to black, for my base and use scotch tape and Fairy Farts to create a stiletto manicure. I love the result! It's far from perfect, but it's all sexy and sparkly.

This is 2 coats of A-England Camelot with 1 coat of Kelara Lacquers Fairy Farts. A little pic heavy because I was indecisive with photos this morning. Also please forgive the wonky skin tone. I'm getting my DSLR today so this is hopefully the last day I'll have to deal with this old camera!

Isn't Fairy Farts beautiful? The name actually comes from Kelara's idea of what an actual Fairy Fart would look like. My inner 15 year old boy still finds this hilarious! Thankfully Fairy Farts makes a sexy stiletto manicure so I don't have to completely offend the uptight people I see where I shop every day.

The formula on Fairy Farts is Indie Thick, yet very usable. I had no issues with clumping or glopping and application was smooth and covered in one coat. The holographic effect is impressive, with Fairy Farts simply glowing in most light. It's hard to capture with my current camera and light setup, but trust me, its there! You can find Fairy Farts at Kelara Lacquers on Etsy for $9/bottle. Kelara also has a new line of Holographics which look awesome! I'll be ordering those soon!

Laquerlicious Polish For Pit Bulls: Kiss-A-Bull

Hello lovelies! Happy Sunday! I hope you're enjoying your Sunday afternoon! I'm using today to catch up on swatching (still! I'm not complaining though. If you couldn't tell, I love swatching and reviewing!). I'm getting there!

Today I am sharing the 2nd polish from the new Laquerlicious Polish For Pit Bulls Collection. This one is called Kiss-A-Bull and  consists of blue, teal, purple and pink pigment and micro glitter. I love both polishes in this mini-collection, but Kiss-A-Bull is my fave. It has such a beautiful color shift! You can check out my swatches of Hug-A-Bull, the first polish in this set here.

This is 2 thin coats of Kiss-A-Bull over Zoya Phoebe:

Formula:
I have to admit that I am always impressed with Laquerlicious' formula. I've shown you several of Michelle's creations now and every single one had a perfect formula. Always usable right from the bottle, Never any clumping of glitter, or thickening during use.

Application:
Kiss-A-Bull applied silky smooth, with no dragging, balding, or glitter clumping at the tips. The glitters are easy to control and evenly dispersed on the nail. I chose to layer Kiss-A-Bull over Zoya Phoebe for some extra pop, but this glitter is also Opaque in 2-3 coats, depending on how thick you polish. This girl dried smoothly and all I needed for a smooth finish was my usual topcoat.

I am in love with both polishes in this set, as well as the cause.

Fresno Bully Rescue is located in Fresno California. They are a nonprofit organization that rescues pit bulls (bullies) and pit bull like breeds. They have done SO much for this breed but sadly, they replace the ones they adopt out 2 to 1. Help control the pet overpopulation! They are being euthanized in huge numbers because there just aren’t enough homes for all the ones being born. Be a responsible pet owner. Spay and neuter!

I am actually sad that I have finished swatching all of my Laquerlicious polishes. Thankfully tax refund time is very soon and I'll be stocking up on Laquerlicious, Twenty Seven Polish (although I only need 2 of those to have them all!), Bitch Glitz, and a ton of other Indie Brands.  I'll also be buying a few Helmers since my giant polish cabinet and my first Helmer are both overflowing. I'm over 1000 polishes now and I need storage!

Laquerlicious Polish-For-Pit Bulls: Hug-A-Bull

Hello again lovelies! Still busy as a bee over here at KLK - today I received some more awesome polish to share with you! I'm so excited about everything I have coming up that I'm literally squee-ing. It's all that awesome.

Tonight I have another awesome creation from Laquerlicious to share. Michelle has created a 2 Polish Collection called Polish For Pit Bulls in honor of Fresno Bully Rescue. When she told me about this I was so excited since I ADORE pit bulls and really wish that people were less judgmental about them. It's easy to listen to all the media hype regarding this breed, but as an 8 year Veterinary Technician specializing in Emergency Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery I worked closely with A LOT of Pit Bulls. Here in New Mexico, bullies are incredibly popular, but unfortunately many people use them as a status symbol or worse...as fighting dogs. Because of the breed's size, strength and ability to be trained easily they are incredibly popular as fighting and/or attack dogs. Thankfully this activity is illegal and bullies are being saved from those abusive environments every day.

Unfortunately here in NM, this means that most of the dogs you find in shelters are bullies or bully mixes. Due to a misunderstanding of the breed (these dogs are loyal, loving, great with children and gentle as lambs by nature), so many bullies would never make it out of the shelters if it were not for Rescue Groups. These groups do such important work, not only educating about the breed, but taking them in, fostering them, nurturing them, training them, and often times nursing them back to health. I have great respect for Bully Rescue everywhere.

The first polish in this mini-collection is Hug-A-Bull, an absolutely stunning mix of gray, silver, purple and pink pigment and micro glitter. I swear the colors in this beauty change with the lighting and angle of the nail! Even more so since I chose to wear this layered over a China Glaze polish with a slight color shift.

This is 2 thin coats of Hug-A-Bull over China Glaze Bizarre Blurple:

Isn't this polish just gorgeous!?!? I fell in love with it in the bottle, but it's so much more incredible on the nail.

Formula:
As usual Laquerlicious impresses. Usable straight out of the bottle, there was no glopping, gooping, clumping or thickening halfway through my mani.

Application:
Smooth and silky, this glitter was one of the easiest to apply. The brush delivered a perfect amount of glitter and there was zero dragging, balding, or clumping at the tip. I used my usual top coat to smooth everything out - no Gelous of Glitter Food needed.

As far as glitters go, this one really stands out for me. I love the color combo in general, but the grey and silver in this make this an incredibly unusual polish. I've also tried this layered over Silver and the effect was mesmerizing!

I highly recommend grabbing these while you can. It's a wonderful cause and I personally plan on grabbing a full sized bottle of each.
