Your favorite polish-31 Day Challenge

Hola!!
Pues aqui estoy todavía viva jaja me he desaparecido un poco estos días pero ya en unos días volveré a mi casa y todo se normalizará.

Este post es para el día 19 del reto y el tema es ''your favorite polish'' y l verdad es que no tengo un esmalte favorito en específico aunque si me facinan mis dos esmaltes ingleses jeje así que para el reto les tengo Butter london y Nails inc.

El primero es The Black Knight de la marca Butter London aunque es inglesa en la botella dice que fue hecho en Estados Unidos. Este esmalte es muy especil para mi por que por mucho tiempo habia querido comprarlo pero no habia un lugar cerca de donde vivo donde pudiera comprarlo pero hace poco abrieron una Ulta y por fin lo obtuve!!!

El segundo que les mostrare es Baker Street de Nails Inc. otra marca londinense pero a diferencia de la anterior esta si dice que fue hecha en el Reino Unido. Es un esmalte realmente hermoso y de excelente calidad. 

disculpen la mancha en mi dedo anular pero tome la foto antes de irme de viaje y no tuve tiempo de limpiar la mancha de esmalte.

Hola!!!

Este post es super especial para mi por que hoy les traigo el esmalte que (creo yo) ha sido el que mas he deseado tener en mi colección, desde que lo vi en un post de una bloggera famosa antes de yo tener mi propio blog me enamoré de este caballero negro jeje Pensé que nunca lo conseguiría porque acá en México no lo venden, pero abrieron una Ulta en Odessa, TX!! y así fue que después de casi 2 años lo tengo sobre mis uñas!


Estoy hablando de el ya famosísimo ''The black knight'' de la marca inglesa Butter London, este es mi primer esmalte de esta marca y lo amo! cubrió perfectamente en dos capas, Es de base negra con micro glitter suspendido principalmente rosa, azul, un poco de rojo y creo haber visto amarillo también!!

Es hermoso!! Lo único que no me gusto fue que el acabado fuera rasposo por el glitter pero eso se arreglo super rápido con 2 capas de Top coat de L.A. Colors Rapid Dry (se a convertido en mi favorita ya que seca rapidísimo y es muy brillante) 

Decidí tomarme un descanso de una semana y dejar de pintar para realmente disfrutar este esmalte que tanto he esperado jeje Hasta ahora todos me han chuleado (alagado jeje) mis uñas diciéndome lo hermoso que es el esmalte!! 

Espero que les guste tanto como a mi :D Lo mejor de este esmalte es la calidad y el hermoso contraste de los diversos colores de glitter sobre la base negra.

Butter London- The Black Knight

Hi guys! I'm still feeling horrible, so this will be short and sweet, but I figured I would at least post something since I'm a little behind and I spent a good chunk of time indulging my depression since hubs was traveling for work and I was run down. For those that don't know, I have 2 kids: a 21 month old son and a 10 year old daughter. My daughter has Asperger's Syndrome, so we have a lot of OT and Neurology Appointments, as well as trying to help her transition to middle school next year. I also own my own business, which requires a ton of paperwork, computer work, as well as driving and walking. Lemme tell ya, when Hubs is gone? I'm going a good 20 hours a day just to get things done. I'm certain that contributed to my picking up this heinous illness. So that's what I've been dealing with, and since I suffer with depression and anxiety disorders, it's been very hard. I think I'm due for a med change since before hubs left I was having trouble with anxiety and leaving the house. I know, TMI, but for those that know me a little more and are wondering where I went, etc., there ya have it.

On to the polish!

Today I have Butter London's The Black Knight to share with you. I've had this polish forever, but just never really found the right occasion for it. Finally, the night hubs left town, I said sod it all and wore it anyway!

I want to tell you guys how fabulous this polish is, and that it's totally worth the $14.00. But I can't. This one is a matter of how much you will tolerate to get to the final look. The Black Knight is a mass of multi-colored glitter in a black jelly base, but it's not your usual multi-color glitter. Nope, it's a gorgeous mix of blues, pinks, and what looks like some silver and gold. The pink and blue truly dominate, and that's what made this polish a must have for me. It really is absolutely gorgeous. But, the formula? What a hot mess! It was thick from the get-go, but it just became so gloppy that I had to thin it out after the 4th nail. Even after thinning once, it still glopped up so badly that the neck of the bottle was clogged. I've never used a polish that was this thick and gloppy in my life! I was so frustrated by the end of the second coat that I swore I would never wear this again and threatened to re-home it. I have since decided that it may be worth the hassle for some special occasion or another, but I certainly won't be wearing it just for fun. This was really inconsistent with Butter London's usual smooth formula, and I'm hoping maybe it was just my bottle. At least I hope so because I sent a bottle of this in a package to someone and I really don't want their head to explode when they try to use it! ;)

Despite having the most evil of all formulas, she is a pretty girl. Of all my glitters, this one got the most compliments. Wear was average, lots of tip wear (wrapping them was a waste of time), but no other chips or wear.  This is 2 coats over Julep Nail Therapy and topped with Out The Door (I ran out of SV. I have since procured some, thank god!).

See? She's gorgeous enough, but is she worth all the hassle? I'll let you be the judge...

butter LONDON Wallis and new Mash 2012 plates

I've been dying to wear this color for months now! It's been gathering dust on my shelves since I was saving it for a time when I could wear it for a few days. Since the challenge is over, I just couldn't wait any longer. I know you guys have seen this a thousand times, but here is butter LONDON "Wallis".

I apologize for the lighting; it's been overcast and snowing on and off here and there was no natural light at all yesterday. Wallis ended up in the lightbox, and no matter how I shoot it, the lightbox is never the same as sunlight.

 And one with flash to show how how the gold shines:

I LOVE this color! The olive/gold combination is pure awesomsauce. I'm not sure about how it looks with my skin tone, but it's amazing enough that I don't care much! This was 2 smooth-as-silk coats and SV to top it off.  I adore butter LONDON's formula, and Wallis did not disappoint.  But.....being me...I wasn't satisfied with wearing it alone, so I decided to try out my brand new MASH stamping plates. I received these on Thursday and I was so excited to try them out. I have to tell you guys, I'm a little disappointed. As you can see in the pics, my images are smeared on the left side of my nails - not from my top coat, but because the etching is so deep that it holds a TON of polish. My right hand came out much better since I picked up the image with my stamp, then waited about 20 seconds before stamping my nails. It didn't matter how much I scraped, the only thing that left a clear image was to allow the image to dry a bit on the stamp. Also, the  full nail images are tiny. They barely cover my middle fingernail, and leave a good third of my thumbnails uncovered. If I want to use these when my length is back, Im going to have to learn how to combine 2 stampings to look like one on the nail. The single images are awesome though. And the french tip stamps are small enough to actually use. My bundle monster french tip images take up half my nail, so I never use them. These I may actually try. Anyway, onto the pics of my smeared fauxnadicure!

What a smeary mess! At least I know that these plates give me some extra time before stamping the nail. I plan on trying the again this week to see if I can make the smaller full nail images cover my nails a bit more.

I should be back to posting more often now. I was sick yesterday so I took the day off (I managed to do a mani, and that was about all I could muster!), but I miss blogging every day so I'll be here often. Now it's off to swatch one of my newer polishes and turn it into a mani. :)
