Channel your Chanel

On a grey and rainy August sunday I listen to a mixture of Pink Martini and electronic instrumental music. Perfect for a tired and cuddeling mood. And the wet drops that lick my windows remind me of cosy sweaters, warm stockings and how I love fantasize about what to wear when Autumn comes. Therefore I now present Chanel Fall 2011.

The feeling I get from this show is a gloomy and ominous sensation that is both intimidating and inciting. The apocalyptic take on a future that we cannot predict and which is menacing in the way that we are finally aware of what we do to mother earth, takes me to the environments of The Book of Eli with stray criminals and pilgrims roaming the desert-like barren and dry lands in search of somthing worth living for, be it either food or guns or just hope in its simplest form.

Well, enough of that!

I find the Chanel looks very inspiring and I look forward to wearing baggy chinos with boots and little jackets in bouclé style. This look can be both very well groomed or very tramp-ish. The key to the tramp/apocalypse look is the buttoned shirt (or extra blazer - don't know how that would feel though) underneath the cropped jacket. Make sure that you don't tuck it into your trousers (this would make the look too polished).

(Asos blazer £50, Topshop BouclĂ©.look blazer £45 and Boden Jacket £125)

(Shorts H&M 179dkk, Topshop pants £35)

(With shorts I would accentuate the layering look by wearing an interesting pair of stockings, maybe leopard in grey and some over knee socks)
(H&M boots 249dkk and Topshop boots £38)

And I would also love to wear the shorts look with a large sweater in a jewel colour like this one:
(Red Sweater from Topshop £40. And a slightly sheer shirt, H&M 399dkk)

 Rainy days are for dreaming
The weather will wash your soul and the world.
Drink lots of herbal tea and polish your toe nails,
Give someone you love a hand massage and tell them they are wonderful.
