Gypsyanna Polish - Ocean Hex-Stacy

Hello lovelies! Another late night post for you since I've been working most of the day. Thankfully it's Friday, and a payday Friday at that! That always eases the pain of having to work over the weekend.

Today I have a brand new polish from Gypsyanna Polish for you. This is a special polish for me since I won the naming contest for this one! I don't usually chime in with naming contests, but this one actually spoke to me.  "Hex-stacy" jumped into my head as soon as I saw this girl, so I entered, and low and behold, I won! The name of the polish is actually Ocean Hex-stacy, keeping with the Ocean theme that a lot of people came up with.

Ocean Hex-stacy is an utterly mind blowing mix of Neon Pink, Neon Green, and Blue Hex Glitter, small white glitter and tiny blue glitters in a bright blue, sheer jelly base. I adore blue polish - it's my fave- but toss in neon glitters and it's like my dream polish! Ocean Hex-stacy can certainly be worn alone, but since I managed to find the perfect base color to pair it with, I decided on some layering.

This is 2 coats of Ocean Hex-stacy over China Glaze Shower Together (with topcoat). Pictured without bottle since my bottle did not survive shipping ( I was able to decant some into an empty bottle though):

*Falls over* O.O!!!!!! This polish just floors me. It's perfect. Just absolutely perfect and I am so incredibly bummed that my bottle did not survive shipping and I don't have much left. I'm definitely going to have to order a backup, because I will wear this often and regular. In fact, It physically hurts me to have to take this off tonight. But I digress - Look at those neon glitters! And even though I've layered this, look at the squish! I must try this on its own ASAP.

Ocean Hex-stacy's formula is amazing. Even after spending an unknown amount of time in a broken bottle during shipping, then a few hours in my mailbox in sweltering heat, this polish had perfect consistency.  I was amazed that I didn't need even a single drop of thinner after all that! There was no thickening during use or clumpy glitters either. Application was just as excellent with no dragging, balding, tricky glitters or glitter fishing. I applied this just like a normal polish and did not have to fish for a single glitter or hand place them. Dry time was lightning quick even before topcoat. I'm wearing 2 coats over  my base polish here, but if you wear this girl alone you'll need a good 3 coats for opacity, and may still have some slight VNL (it is a sheer jelly after all!). Ocean Hex-stacy dries just slightly textured, however I'm only wearing top coat here. It's not really textured enough to warrant glitter food. Wear is stellar with no chips or tip wear at right around 24 hours.

I am so in love. I cannot wait to try more from Gypsyanna Polish. One thing I want to mention - My daughter received some Gypsyanna beauties as well. Bryanna sent them along with my package to help cheer her up since she has been having a rough time. I was so incredibly touched and grateful. And so was she! We plan on doing some Mother/Daughter manis with them, so you'll get to see them as well. In the meantime, since I can't wait to get my hands on more Gypsyanna Polish, I plan on ordering a few more from this awesome Indie Brand!

Love, Angeline Polish: Wham! Swatches and Review

Hello Lovelies! It's another Monday and I'm already feeling sluggish. Thankfully I have coffee, that miraculous liquid that keeps me upright. I'll be needing it today!

Today I have an awesome glitter topper from Love, Angeline Polish, one of my fave new Indie Brands.  I had been talking with Natosha, the creator of Love, Angeline, and she was kind enough to send me a surprise package with a few of her polishes to share with you all! Such a sweet gesture! This baby is from her I Love the 80's and is called Wham! I'm sure you get the name.

Wham! is an awesome mix of neon green, black, and watermelon colored matte glitters in a clear base. I paired this one with Catrice Meet Me At Coral Island, a beautiful Coral Creme. This combo really reminds me of watermelons! Love it!

This is 2 coats fo Wham! over Meet Me At Coral Island, with top coat:

Doesn't that combo remind  you of watermelons?? I love it! So bright and happy! This is such a summery glitter.

Wham!'s formula was excellent, with no glopping or thickening during use. Application was easy peasy with no glitter fishing, dabbing on glitters, or clumping on the nail. Dry time was quick, however Wham! does dry just slightly textured so I do recommend top coat to smooth things out.

I am really loving this polish! I have some more from Love, Angeline that I'll be sharing with you over the next couple of weeks and I am so excited! I love finding great Indie Brands, and Love, Angeline is certainly awesome.

Live Life Polished - A Mother's Prayer

Hello Lovelies! I know, I know..I'm late to the party this afternoon. I've been working on swatches this afternoon since I fell asleep when I was supposed to be swatching not once, not twice...but 3 times in a row! I wish I could say that it was lovely and I feel all sorts of refreshed, but in all honesty it wasn't. The only reason that I slept that much was because my body literally shut down and that was that. For months I've been sleeping in 2 hour increments...2-3 hours at night, and maybe a 2 hour nap during the day. Too much to get done and not enough hours in the day, right? Well my body decided that it had quite enough of that, and wham! Kimber's out for the count! My hubby later told me that he was unable to wake me on all 3 nights. Good for my worn out self, but it put me behind on just about everything.

I'd also like to welcome back...my left hand! I prefer to photograph my left hand, however since it had zero free edge for along time there (I was growing out some damage), I've been photographing my right hand. You'll still see my right hand making appearances, but my left hand will no longer be in hiding, despite being slightly shorter than my right. I'm fairly certain that you lovelies don't really mind, right? Although someone please remind me to tuck my thumb out of the way when I'm taking pics! ;)

Today I have a custom polish from the awesome Tammy at Live Life Polished. This polish was a complete surprise actually - it popped out at me from a package that Tammy had sent with her thermal and photo-chromatic polishes (still working on those, folks! Trying to get both good sunlight and accurate pics for you.), and really made my day. I was literally touched to the point of tears, and still get a little misty when I look at this polish.

A Mother's Prayer is a neon pink jelly loaded with iridescent and holo glitters. The name is in honor of my own Mother, and her battle with Stage 4 Inoperable (and incurable) Adenocarcinoma of the lung.  This girl is literally packed with my favorite colors and finishes, and I'll be honest - photographs do not show much of this polish at all. This is one of those pretties that you must see IRL, otherwise you're missing half of what's going on. The iridescent glitters are incredibly camera shy, whereas IRL they are readily apparent and really catch and reflect the light onto the holo glitters.

This is 2 coats of A Mother's Prayer, with top coat:

See what I mean? You can tell there's alot more going on than what the camera managed to capture. I do wish that I could actually show you those iridescent glitters - they're pretty darn cool. You can see the flashes of color from them if you look closely though!

Delush Polish - Cirque Fantastique!

Hello lovelies! It's Thursday! Which is a happy day in my worlds, since it means payday hits around 2 A.M.! I need to order more Pure Nail Oil, as well as grab some new base colors and the like, so payday is always a good day.

Today I have the final polish from Delush Polish to share with you all. This polish is my very favorite Delushie, and I was so happy that Adrianna included this one in my package. Huge thanks to her for allowing me to share her hard work and awesome creations with you all!

Cirque Fantastique is a mix of neon pink, teal, and yellow square glitters, and fuchsia and blue microglitters in a white crelly base. If this polish looks familiar, it might be because none-other than Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child has worn this same polish, and posted pictures on Instagram (You can see those pics on Delush Polish on FB or Instagram)! Adrianna was able to gift Cirque Fantastique to Kelly at one of her shows, and soon after Kelly posted the pictures of herself wearing it. That is a pretty cool thing, if you ask me.

Obviously I was incredibly excited about this one! Let's get right to it, shall we?

This is 2 coats of Cirque Fantastique, with Top Coat:

Ahhhhhhh!!! I almost don't have the words....I just love this polish soooo much. Look at those colors! I'm really digging neon glitters in a light base these days, and this girl perfectly embodies that trend.

Cirque Fantastique's formula was absolute perfection. I mean, don't get me wrong - Teal Death Do Us Part and It Takes Two To Mango have amazing formulas as well, but there is something about CF that is slightly different, and just lovely. I had zero issues with the formula on this beauty. Application was just as wonderful, with no dragging, streaking, balding, or fishing for glitters. Although this pretty is completely opaque in 2 coats, this is one of those polishes that you want to keep applying, even when you don't need any more coverage, just because it's that nice to work with. Cirque Fantastique dries only slightly textured, so all you really need is your usual top coat to keep things shiny and smooth. Wear is excellent - I'm still wearing this polish and have no wear/chips at just under 24 hours now.

I am officially in love with Delush Polish! Adrianna's creations are not only unique, but high quality as well. Roll on winning lottery ticket, cause I want them all!!

Polish TBH: Chrissy's Always Late

Hello Lovelies! I am having the darndest time finding a moment to post lately. I've been trying to work in 2 posts a day, but my youngest is not about to let that happen. I may pull it off today, but I make no guarantees. I'm hoping that I can, since the second polish is seriously awesome. Then again, so is this one, so let's get to it!

My love for Polish TBH is no secret. I have every polish that Christian has made, save for one, and that one has been reformulated and will be added to my stash very soon! Today's polish is from the most recent collection, the Girl's Night Out Collection.

Chrissy's Always Late is an ultra-cool blend of various sizes of neon Purple, Pink, Blue, and Turquoise glitters as well as small neon yellow glitters in a white crelly base. I am digging on these neon glitters in white, and CAL (as it shall be known know since I'm too lasy to type the entire name) did not disappoint. Once again, this is the second time I've worn this, since I wasn't able to photograph it the first time.

This is 2 thin coats of Chrissy's Always Late over Finger Paints Paper Mache:

Those little neon yellow glitters were hard to capture, save for a macro shot, but aren't they awesome? I really, really love this polish, even though it's hard to get it to look great on the nubs. ;)

CAL's formula was spot on as usual. Polish TBH never disappoints! This girl is thick enough to carry all those glitters, yet thin enough to work with. No thickening during use and no clumpy glitters either. Application was a breeze with no dragging, balding, or pulling glitters. Dry time was fast, and this baby does not dry textured so all you need for a glossy finish is your usual top coat. Wear is excellent with zero chips and just the slightest tip wear at the corners at 36 hours.

I just love Polish TBH creations. Christian creates some of the most gorgeous and well formulated polishes around. If you have yet to try some, you really need to grab a few.

 Hello Lovelies! Welcome to yet another late edition of Flakie Friday! This week I had this ready to go on time - although when I went in to choose my photos.....disaster! They were nowhere near color accurate and my usual lighting was way too bright and washed out the photos. So I pulled out all my photo equipment and tried again. This time, I managed to capture the base color, but the flakies were all wrong. So I photographed a third time, this time in very low lighting and with pretty much every camera setting imaginable tweaked somehow. My skin tone is still a bit wonky, and the photos are slightly overexposed, but that's the only way I could capture this manicure accurately. Lesson learned - do not mix a neon base color with flakies! Also, Susan is taking this week off, but will be back with more flakie goodness next week!

Before I get to the polish, I want to thank everyone again for all the wonderful comments that have been left on Kalli's story. I can't believe how far that one post has spread! It's wonderful! Please feel free to share our story anywhere you would like. Several of you have asked if that is okay and it's more than alright. 

I also want to thank Leah Ann from Llarowe - she shared pictures of my Autism Awareness Ribbon Manicure as well as Kalli's story. She is also donating proceeds from the sales of one her polishes from April 2 to an Autism related charity. I was very touched to Leah Ann's reaction to Kalli's story, and her willingness to share openly. Thank you Leah Ann!

Also, one of my fave Indie polish goddesses, Christian from Polish TBH, will be donating some of the  proceeds from the sales of her blue polishes during the month of April. How awesome is that?? This is a great excuse to pick up some awesome polish - hint hint hint!!! The shop is currently on vacation but will re-open in about a week.

And last but nowhere near least, please check out some of the awesome polish jewelry from Puzzled and Polished  (Link will also be on my sidebar tomorrow) Mandy is also an Austism mom, and the proceeds from her jewelry go to Walk Now for Autism Speaks (her team is Christian's Crusaders). She has also developed an app that provides calming scenes to help when our kids are feeling sensory overload. Hopefully we'll be seeing this app become available soon! Mandy works tirelessly for the Autism Community and, more importantly, is an amazing mom to Christian. Let's help support her and Autism Awarness!

And now....polish!

Today's Flakie is a gorgeous little gem that I picked up from Llarowe. La Femme Destak is a mylar flakie with a red/gold/green/teal duochrome shift. Since this is a mylar flakie, the color shift is entirely dependent on your base color. Darker colors will show the colors better than a lighter base, however this flakie looks awesome over almost any color. 

Since I love the red/gold color in this girl, I wanted to layer over a brighter base color in order to keep that color dominant. Great idea, unless you have to photograph it! ;) I chose Sinful Colors Endless Blue, a bright, highly saturated neon blue with the weirdest formula ever. The result is stunning IRL, and I wish it transleted in photos. 

This is 2 coats of La Femme Destak over Sinful Colors Endless Blue (Polish colors are accurate - skin tone is not!):

Despite not being the best photos ever, isn't Destak awesome? I love Mylar flakies. How can you not love a flakie that still has a ton of color over lighter colors? I mean, look at that red/gold in Destak - I love how it looks almost fuchsia in some lighting.

Destak's formula is perfection. It's thick enough to carry a ton of flakies but thin enough to be easy to work with. I had no issues with flakie placement, clumping, or dragging. Application was stellar - Destak practically applied itself! Despite being packed with flakies, I had no issues with glopping or gooping, and the flakies lay perfectly flat on the nail. Well, I did have one rogue flakie on the very tip of my index finger, but that happens with stilettos. :)

I wish I could rave about Endless Blue, but that polish had the funkiest formula ever! It's thick, yet it still has a tendency to flood, and it did not want to stick to the sides of my nails. The color is worth the strange application, but I have never had a polish act like that! 

I can't wait to try out Destak over some other colors. I have a feeling she would look awesome over a deep purple or a navy blue.
