skull neon nails with studs

  • Sinful colors-Beautiful girl
  • Sally hansen xtreme wear-Mellow Yellow
  • Sinful colors-Innocent
  • China Glaze-For Audrey

Studded Nails with Pure Ice Scream

Good Morning Lovelies! Happy Tuesday! It's going to be another busy day here at KLK - I have even more awesome new polishes to show you so I'll be working on some of those today.

This morning I have a manicure I wore a few days ago to share with you. I've been really missing nail art lately, so I decided to break out my old, neglected striping tape as well as my brand new studs that I received from KKCenterHK and play around a bit.

I started with Finger Paints Paper Mache as my base, then laid out my striping tape pattern and polished over that with Pure Ice Splash. Then I added some of the dark grey/black studs within the tape pattern and sealed it all with top coat.

I love the finished design, even though I had some issues with my striping tape. I bought my striping tape on E-Bay, and this particular roll was a bit wonky. The pieces of tape were never the same width, and when I went to remove them they broke into pieces even though the polish was still very wet. This left less than neat lines, which caused some smearing. Needless to say I'll be investing in some new striping tape ASAP!

The studs were incredibly easy to use, which I was very excited about since my other studs are from a drugstore brand and are a pain to use. The studs that I received from KKCenterHK are actual metal and are easy to pick up and place onto the nail. They are very smooth and rounded on top, with a flat bottom that has no glue or sticky padding. I love studded nail art and after trying these out I will definitely be ordering more shapes and colors!

All photos are 2 coats Paper Mache, 1 coat Pure Ice Scream:

Despite all the problems I had with my striping tape (not from KKCenterHK) , I really love this design. And I really love these studs!

You can find these studs by at KKCenterHK's website, item number NNAIL-DRN666, or by clicking here. These studs come in packages of 50 and retail for $4.73. KKCenterHK is now carrying all different sizes, shapes and colors of studs as well as thousands of different nail art accessories. They offer great pricing and free worldwide shipping, so check them out!  You can also save 10% off your entire order by using code KIMBERSKORNER at checkout.

What do you think of studded nails?

Stay tuned for some new Polish TBH this afternoon!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!

French manicure with hand painted lace

Hola!!!!!!

31 Day Challenge (v.2)! Day 1: Red Nails

Good morning, ladies! Despite it being a Monday, I'm feeling happy and excited! It's Day 1 of the 31 Day Challenge, and I can't wait to check out everyone's red nails!

For my Red Nails, I decided to do a tape mani. I used Wet N Wild Megalast in I Red A Good Book, an awesome red Jelly, as my base color, then added chevrons using scotch tape and Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and Orly Liquid Vinyl.  This was the first time I've done actual tape Chevrons, and they came out much better than I expected.

I did have a hard time getting decent pics of this mani, though. Could have something to do with trying to take photos with my eyes half closed at 2 am!

I'm really happy with how this turned out! Not bad for my first Chevrons right? Although that little ding in my ring finger is driving me nuts! I have a bad habit of whacking the table as soon as I finish applying top coat. It never fails!

Be sure to check out all the fabulous Red Nails everyone is posting today! Just clicky the links below:

PURE ICE Vinyl RemiX-craquelados a otro nivel!

Hola!!!!!!

Super Nubbins! Stamping with Spoiled Black Mamba and Pure Ice Outrageous

****Important Note*** I have deleted my blogroll for the moment due to the nastiness that has been hitting some blogs via a bug in the blogroll. I still love and read you all, but since my blog seems to have been effected, I had to say bye bye to the actual blogroll widget until the problem is fixed. :(

Hi Ladies! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! This post is very late due to Saturday being my daughter's birthday and she had a sleepover, rendering me pretty much useless outside of providing snacks and transportation for a couple of tween girls.

Anyway, these are the super nubbins I've been crying about lately. Thankfully they have already grown enough that I'm no longer totally miserable over them. Although in all honesty, I still have yet to forgive the toaster oven for tearing my nail down to the quick and forcing me to super duper nubbinize.

I wore this mani about a week ago, and loved it, despite the super nubbins. I chose Spoiled by Wet N Wild Black Mamba as my color and stamped using one of my Mash plates and Pure Ice Outrageous. I love Pure Ice polish anyway (so many great colors, low low price, and you can find them anywhere), but their metallics are amazing for stamping. Right up there with the CG Romantique Collection IMO. I love this particular pink, and really wanted to pair it with a Charcoal Grey. Black Mamba is a lovely Charcoal shade with an abundance of Silver fleck. It's a fabulous polish, but again....the brush. Thankfully I now have 2 brand new brushes (thanks Julep!) that I plan on using with my Spoiled polishes, so you won't have to deal with my complaining about the brushes anymore! ;) The polishes themselves are pretty awesome, and Black Mamba was no exception. The only issues I had were application problems due to super short nubbins. I cannot tell how how frustrating it is to try and wrap your tips when you have negative free edge (yes, I wrap them when they're short. I had to go back to wrapping my tips at least partially since I couldn't handle how fast they chip otherwise)! Thank god my nails grow fast and they're already looking like normal nubbins instead of super duper nubs! They're almost at the point where I can work on the shape again, since my nails grow kind of sideways so when I nubbinize they're totally uneven for a bit until I get some free edge back.  My poor traumatized cuticles are healing up nicely as well. Still a bit dry and scraggly, but after being attacked by evil, unwanted shrubbery what did I expect? Note to self: Buy welding gloves for the pointy, stabby weeds! The worst part of the nubbins has been the dry skin that was under my nails. Unsightly!! Ick! So embarrassing. It's hard to post pics with my hands like this! But here we go.....

Details:
1 coat OPI Nail Envy Matte
1 coat Orly Bonder
2 coats Spoiled Black Mamba
Stamping with Pure Ice Outrageous
1 coat Seche Vite

I do really love this combo! I loved this enough that I wore it for 3 days, which is a record when I have nubbins. I think I had maybe one chip when I removed this, which was pretty impressive! I really do dig Spoiled polishes. Great colors, great price. Now if they could just fix that brush!! ;)

Hope you're all break-free and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Polishing!

Pure Ice Crackle & Ice Duo: Strike A Pose

Hi guys! Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!

Today I have one of the Pure Ice Crackle duos to share with you. I know, I know..most everyone is so over Crackle. And for the most part, I am as well. But...I never really used it much so on occasion when I want something quick, easy, and still eye catching, I'll pull out a crackle. The Pure Ice Duos are actually pretty interesting. I'm drawn to crackles with eye catching color, and these little duos have just that.

This particular duo is a Silver Glitter polish (It's actually Pure Ice Beware) matched with a striking shimmery bright blue crackle. I like the look of glitter under crackle, so this was naturally the first of the 3 duos I have that I tried out.  Here, have a look!

Oops! I managed to whack my ring finger against the table right as I finished this mani! Good thing about crackle is that that little ding was only noticeable in pictures. :)

I love the color combination of this silver glitter with the bright blue crackle. This is one of the few crackles that I have worn that didn't glop up on me.  The crackle dried very quickly though, so you do have to work fast. I used a thicker coat on this swatch since I like larger cracks and really wanted to show off the color of this crackle. I tried a thin coat on my thumb, and it led to smaller, spidery cracks. Still looked great, but the color wasn't as vivid. I actually liked the Pure Ice crackle much better than the Sally Hansens, which glop up quickly and tend to be very thick. And for the price ( I think these were around $2.99 at Wal Mart), these little duos are certainly worth a wear.  I picked up the Gold/Red combo and the White/Purple combo as well. After wearing this one, I'm actually looking forward to trying out the other 2.

Happy Monday! I hope your day is less crazy than mine is slated to be!

Happy polishing!

Petite's Daze and Mermaid Tails

Hi guys! I seem to be recovering from the evil stomach bug! Yay! I swear, if this year continues on the path it's been headed down, I'll be in the looney bin by March. Ugh!  But enough whining, onto the polish!

Today I have a really awesome little drugstore polish to share with you, Petites Daze. Daze is a bright yellow based green glitter/foil that caught my eye on a trip to Wal Mart awhile back. There were a ton of newer petites colors (newer to me at least, wal mart usually only has a handful of petites colors out here), so I picked up as many as I could. At $1.29 a pop, I figured even if I hated them, they were worth it. Daze is certainly the standout among the Petites colors I picked up, being the only bright color and one of the 2 that isn't a creme. I still couldn't tell you if it's a glitter or a foil, since it has glittery particles suspended in a sheer green base, but is very foil-like. I'll call it a Gloil. Close enough, right? Anyway, check out this dazzling little beauty!

Taken in lightbox - sorry for weird lighting! I think it's time for a new daylight bulb!

I love this green! It does cast a bit of a yellow glow on my cuticles, but it's such a fun color that I'm willing to overlook a little cuticle jaundice.  Formula on this was much better than I had expected. It did need 3 coats to look somewhat even, and as with any glitter it left it's fair share of glittery residue on my fingertips (I maintain it's festive), but it went on smoothly and stayed where I told it to. Wear wasn't too shabby either. I wore this alone for a day without any tip wear or chipping. Of course, since it's such a bright and shimmer color, I had to play with it a bit. I decided to  add a sponged gradient using Essence Choose Me, then double stamped using both Essence Choose Me and Pure Ice Silver Mercedes. I topped that off with a quick coat of Pure Ice Heartbreaker and some SV and voila! Mermaid Mani!

I don't think it came out half bad! Some of the stamping smudged a bit, but I also stamped directly onto the sponged polish - limited time frame and impatience on my part. :(

First, my Left Hand:

And my rarely seen Right Hand! Funny, lately when I stamp my right hand comes out better than my left!

I had a blast working on this mani. What do you guys think?

Hope you're all having a fabulous Friday!

Happy Polishing
