Daring Digits: Popped

Hello lovelies ! I hope you're all having a better week than I am. I am sick as a dog! I'm not sure what this virus is, but it feels like a flu strain. Thankfully I have my flu shot, so I won't get the full blown flu. Back in February of 2009 I managed to contract Influenza A and was hospitalized for a week. Since then I always make sure to get my flu shot. I can still contract a flu-type virus, but get to avoid the extended hospital stay and assisted breathing and blacking out that comes with the actual flu.

I did manage to polish last night, which is a feat in and of itself given how horrid I feel. But I'm so behind from last week and now this cold, that I just have to push through. Plus I miss blogging. I miss my readers. Whine whine whine. ;) Let's take a peek at some awesome polish!

Today I have a really awesome polish from Daring Digits to share with you all. Since I am so sick, I wanted something really colorful and happy to boost my spirits. Daring Digits Popped is just that: a bright and happy mix of rainbow matte and shred glitters in a clear base. It reminds me of those balloons that are full of confetti and create a confetti cloud when popped. Love it! And it really did boost my mood.

This is 2 thin coats of Daring Digits Popped over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (these were taken with the Rebel T4i, which I'm still adjusting to. Please be gentle!):

 I love Rainbow Glitter, I really do. And Popped is perfect! I love the mix of matte and shred glitters girl!

Formula:
Popped is one of those glitter toppers that has my favorite kind of formula - thick enough to carry the glitter, yet thin enough to easily control the mount of glitter on the brush. I had no issues with clumping glitters or a thickening base here.

Application:
Fabulous! Popped applies easily and as I mentioned before, I was able to control the amount of glitter in each stroke. I had no issues with fishing for glitters, and no stray curling glitters. Popped does not dry all that textured, although I added a coat of Essence Nail Art Sealer for some added protection. Coverage is even and opacity really depends on how much pop you're looking for.  I'm wearing 2 thin coats here since I wanted a lot of color, but 1 coat looks just as awesome and gives a stark manicure a wonderful pop of color. 

Popped really was the perfect choice to boost my bummer of a mood. I love this baby over white, but I cannot wait to try it over black! The glitters are so vivid that I'm betting it will look amazing!

Polish TBH Girl Please Collection: Blonde Rebel

Good Morning Lovelies! Happy Sunday! I am nice and refreshed after taking a much needed day off yesterday. Of course, this means lots of pretty polish to share over the next few days. I have the elusive 7th Sally Hansen Lustre Shine coming up this afternoon, so stay tuned!

As you all know, Polish TBH has just released their 2nd collection, the "Girl Please" Collection. I've already shown you Geyttyh and How I Troll, and Chaotic Peligro and Tiny Dancer were early releases from this collection. This collection is fabulous. I've had a hard time deciding on a favorite since honestly I love them all!

Today I'm sharing Blonde Rebel with you all. Blonde Rebel is cool denim blue shimmer with silver glitters and white shreds. The name and desription on the Polish TBH store site evoke thoughts of the fabulous Lady Gaga, or if you were an 80's child, Madonna. Either way, this polish ROCKS!! I am a sucker for blues, and the white shreds and silver glitters really make this polish pop.

*sighs* Love. Just love. This reminds me of either studded or acid washed denim. Really takes me back to the days when I was young, platinum blonde, and wild.

Formula:
As with all Polish TBH Creations, the formula on Blonde Rebel is fabulous. Usable straight from the bottle with never any thickening during use, glooping or goopping, and no clumps of glitter on the brush.

Application:
A bit sheer and streaky on the first coat, Blonde Rebel evens out perfectly with the second coat. This polish is opaque at 2 coats, however I knocked a nail against my table and added a third coat to fix the little smudge.  The glitters in this girl lay flat against the nail despite the natural tendency of shard glitter to stick up and poke you! A sinlge coat of my usual top coat was enough for a smooth surface.

The Girl Please Colletion is highly impressive. The colors, the glitters, the names! I have one more polish from this collection to share with you all, and it's a doozy! Make sure to check back tomorrow to check it out.

Twenty Seven Polish-Upvotes & Downvotes

Hiya Lovelies! Wow! More of you have joined in for the ABC Challenge! I am so excited! So far the details are as follows:

We start on Wednesday with the letter A. There are no rules. If it starts with A, be it brand name, polish name, color name, name art style, what have you...it's fair game. Since I truly suck with Inlinkz I'm compiling a master list of participants names and URL's that we can cut and paste on each ABC post. If someone wants to take on an Inlinkz thing, let me know and we can do it that way. You just don't want me handling that part cause I will certainly make a mess of it!

I cannot wait to start and see what everyone chooses to do!!!

Right now, I want to share another Twenty Seven Polish with you all. It's no secret that Twenty Seven is one of my very favorite handmade Indie Brands. Lisa is simply brilliant, her polishes are top-notch, and she is sweet as pie to boot. Today I have one of her newer creations, Upvotes & Downvotes (Reddit, anyone?!) to share with you. Upvotes (I'm gonna shorten that name due to my raging tendonitis) is a glorious mix of matte blue and orange shreds, tiny white hexes, and a splash of white fibers in a clear base. I chose to layer this baby over an orange based Red, L'oreal caught red-handed.

I honestly had a hard time choosing from my stash of Twenty Seven's last night. I have a brand new polish called Cotton Candy Bliss that is just incredible, as well as more glitters and a black holo that I still have to share. Yup, I am a Twenty Seven Polish addict and possibly Lisa's biggest fan.:)

But I digress....this is 1 coat of Upvotes & Downvotes over 2 coats of L'oreal Caught Red-Handed, topped with SV:

Isn't that just a beautiful glitter? Love, I tell you!!!

Formula:
What can I say....every single polish that Lisa has made has a wonderful formula. Thick, yet easy to use and never gloppy, and no thickening during use. I've never had to use thinner with any of her polish - all usable straight out of the bottle.

Application:
Superb! The brush delivers the perfect amount of glitter with every stroke, and no fishing for any glitters. No clumping at the tips and no hand placing. Even though this is a chunky glitter, I needed only my regular topcoat to smooth everything out.

Another definite winner from Twenty Seven Polish! I have only wonderful things to say about this Indie Brand.
