Spoiled by Wet N Wild: I Gotta Confection To Make

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a fabulous week! It's officially Friday, and one week until hubs gets to come home. Let me tell ya, being alone with my kids, running the business, working the business, and handling my daughter's appointments, Occupational Therapy, IEP meetings, transition to middle school stuff, house cleaning, laundry, etc., has been rough, but not as rough as watching my son look for his Dada today, and come fall into my arms looking sad and defeated when Dada didn't come. It kills me that I can't explain that Dada will be back next week, and he didn't leave him, but at 21 months, Dex can't exactly grasp that concept. It's very hard to see my son so confused. I just hope that he remembers that Daddy came back last time (even though that was only 4 days as opposed to 17), and hasn't abandoned him. But enough of my personal life, eh? Let's talk about some polish!

I had actually planned on wearing an entirely different mani today, but Dex was very moody this morning (teething!), and I had very little time to slap on some polish.  I decided that I wanted something sheer, yet sparkly, and Spoiled by Wet N Wild's I Gotta Confection To Make fit the bill. Confection is a very sheer pink jelly, with tons of holographic and opalescent large round and micro-glitter. It's beautiful on its own, but is very very sheer, so if you're opposed to VNL, layering is the way to go. I had planned on wearing this layered over another Spoiled, but some of these glitters are so beautiful alone, despite being sheer, that I decided that wearing them all by their lonesome wasn't an awful idea. I don't mind VNL anymore, and on rare occasions I do like the subtle look of a sheer glitter.  This is 3 coats of I Gotta Confection To Make over a layer of Gelish Top It Off (I love this stuff as a base. Not only does it add strength, but it makes for an ultra smooth base for polish, and I only have to apply it every week or so since it has to be buffed and then soaked off. Plus if you have any peelies or weak spots, it protects them from further damage. Good stuff!), topped with SV. Sparklies are more evident if you make with the clicky and enlarge!

Please forgive my ultra-dry hands and cuticles. Dishes and constant cleaning (I clean when I'm upset or anxious) are wreaking havoc on my skin.

Isn't this a gorgeous polish? I don't wear soft pinks often since they just don't look right with my skin tone, but I really love this color.  The combination of the soft pink and holo glitter is a great subtle look, but still has some flair. I can't wait to layer this over some other colors and see what she does!

Formula wasn't anything special. Very thick, but spread easily over the nail. I used 3 coats since anything less barely shows just a hint of pink, but if you're looking for the brighter bottle color, 4 just may do it. I did use a coat of SV, but the glitter was still slightly gritty. I don't mind gritty glitters (I actually like a little texture on my nails), but if you're not a fan, you'll need at least 2 coats of SV or a coat of Gelous. Dry time was a little on the slow side, but I did use 3 coats and this is a very thick polish so I wasn't surprised. I waited as long as my patience held, but after about 10 minutes I added the coat of SV and went on my merry way.

Tomorrow I am deviating from my Spoiled marathon to show you a polish that my son picked out for me (awwwww, ain't that cute!). Since I have so many Spoileds, I have decided to throw in a different polish every few days just to mix things up, as well as keep working my way through my untrieds. I have some new Sinfuls to share, as well as 3 new to me Juleps, Layla Magnetics, and some more L'oreal.

Hope you're all having a fabulous Friday!

Happy Polishing!
