Hello Lovelies!! Happy Tuesday!
First of all, I'd like to apologize for my absence over the past 2 days. I had a serious Emergency come up Sunday afternoon, and I spent the next 12 hours handling the fallout. Yesterday was a recovery day, since I was just exhausted and coming off of the adrenaline rush, while trying to get back to normal. Some of you know what happened, but in all honesty I do not want to talk about it here. I have no qualms sharing some details of my life, but others are just not meant to be shared here. Just know that it was not an experience that I want to repeat, but everyone here is fine. Except my daughter's dog. He was kind messed up and brainless to begin with. ;)
I'm obviously now behind on posting and swatching, so I'll be playing catch up over the next week. I'll definitely have my challenge post up tomorrow, as well as more White Owl Lacquers. I still have BGCosmetics and Daring Digits coming up as well, and Laquerlicious and some new Indie Brands!
Today I'm sharing a new Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Polish that caught my eye at CVS the other day. I needed a pick me up (as well as a distraction while waiting for my phone to ring Sunday night), and this gorgeous girl fit the bill. I knew there was a Deborah Lippmann ATU dupe in the new Salon Manicure line, but I wasn't aware of the new duochrome! I snagged both for $5.99 each at CVS because who can resist an ATU dupe and a duochrome!!
Black and Blue is a gorgeous teal/blue/purple duochrome (multichrome). The duochrome is strong and evident in every lighting condition possible. I managed to capture it on camera, although it is much stronger IRL. With artificial lighting, the duochrome is evident at extreme angles, making it very hard to catch. Plus, how many of us really look at their hands in my photo poses?? ;)
This is 3 coats of Black and Blue topped with HK Girl Top Coat:
*swoon!* This polish is absolutely gorgeous. I'm actually still wearing this, and the duochrome effect hasn't faded one bit. Sally Hansen has a serious winner on their hands with this girl!
Formula:
Flawless. Smooth, Silky with no thickening during use. Absolute love.
Application:
Black and Blue was so easy to apply. There was some streaking and dragging on the first coat, but it evened out perfectly with the second. This baby stayed right where I put it and barely any cleanup was needed. This polish is rather sheer, so I need all 3 coats for opacity, but layering over a dark color is always an option. The duochrome is impressive and does not fade with wear, and after 2 days I still have zero chips and very little tip wear.
I love this polish. Like want to take it to dinner and a movie and ask it to be mine forever love. Out of all the duochromes I own, this is my favorite so far. I have a feeling this will grace my nails often, and I'm already planning on grabbing a few backups.
What do you think of Black and Blue? Have you seen the new Salon Manicure lineup yet?
I'll be back tonight with some White Owl Lacquers! Make sure to check back!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
