White Owl Lacquers: Come To Me

Hello Lovelies! I'm sorry for the lack of posts this week. With everything that has happened, I have barely had time to polish. I've mentioned the Sunday Fiasco, but I also managed to tweak my back pretty badly yesterday, and then last night I started feeling very run down and congested. Woke up today officially sick. The Universe does not want to cut me any slack! I did manage to actually polish last night, but it's pretty rough, so don't laugh!

Today I have another beauty from White Owl Lacquers to share with you. White Owl was created by fellow blogger Mara from Mara In Polishland. She recently released her Valentine's Collection, Heightened Emotions, which consists of 3 polishes inspired by The Vampire Diaries. I had planned to share these before V-Day, but life happens, and thankfully all 3 of these beauties are wearable year round.

I chose to share Come To Me with you today, since we all know I love anything with blue!  Come To Me is a mix of different size and shapes of matte blue glitter and pink dots in a milky jelly base. The base color has just a hint of blue, which makes this really stand out for me. My photos really picked up on the blue, and isn't as dominant IRL. Come To Me was inspired by the scene where Elena tell Damon that she loves him, and he let's her come to him. I'll admit that I haven't seem much TVD, but after reading about the scenes that inspired this collection, my interest is piqued! The base color has just a hint of blue, which makes this really stand out for me. My photos really picked up on the blue, and isn't as dominant IRL.

All Photos are 3 coats of Come To Me topped with HK Girl Top Coat. My Gelous has been acting up lately and bubbled again - this is not refelctive of the polish. It's the Gelous, and it's doing it with all my indies. thankfully I ordered some Glitter Food today. There's also a very obvious dent on my middle finger from whacking the tripod while I was setting up. It's not noticeable IRL so I didn't really think much of it, but man! It's obvious in pictures! Due to the glitter in this, I also did not wrap my tips, which made my nail shape look a bit off. See how OCD I am? I nitpick everything. But I have to give myself some leeway since I'm sick and injured. :)

This is also my first time shooting my Canon Rebel T4i and the macro filter in the new light tent, so please be gentle! I'm sick and sore and took these around 4 am. I had a hard time finding the right angles since I'm not used to shooting solely on a tripod, and I'm still trying to find the perect shooting distance and all that. It's like learning how to photograph my nails all over again. I'm sure as I get used to the Rebel and new lighting things will start looking better.

Love!!! The Macro shot is the most color accurate - the others carry a slight reflection from the blue glitters. I personally love the blue cast from the glitters though. Gives it a very romantic feel.

Formula:
I've actually worn this twice now - the first time being Sunday while the fiasco was going on so I never managed to photograph it. Both times I had no issues with application. No thickening during use, no glopping or gooping. I did have to use some thinner this time around, but I also hadn't tightened my bottle cap very well. Oops!

Application:
Come To Me applies beautifully with no dragging, streaking or balding. It is sheer, so you will need either 2 thick coats or 3 thin coats for opacity. This girl also looks beautiful layered over white, blue, and pink. The round glitters are a touch heavy, so I do recommend tipping your bottle upside down for a few minutes before polishing. This girl does not dry very textured, but I added a coat of (the evil bubbling) Gelous out of habit. The bubbles you see are not from the polish! I cannot emphasize that enough. The polish itself had zero bubbling until I added my Gelous, which is bubbling horribly with all of my indies. I did order Glitter Food today, so that should fix that issue! Wear is wonderful, with no chipping and very little tip wear after 2 days.

I am really loving White Owl lacquers. They're a dream to apply and the mix of glitters in those lovely milky bases are just to die for! I can't wait to see what Mara dreams up next!

You can find White Owl Lacquers via their website, and be sure to follow White Owl on Facebook for updates! Full size bottles are currently selling for $9, or you can pick up the complete Heightened Emotions Collection for $27 for full size bottles or $13.50 for minis. Be sure to check out White Owl's "After All This Time" Collection as well (I'll be sharing more from both collex this week).

What do you think of Come To Me? Do you have a favorite White Owl Lacquers polish?

Thanks for stopping by and all the kind words as of late. You guys are the best and I appreciate you so very much.
-Kimber
