Flakie F riday (er, Saturday?)! Nfu-Oh 52

Hello Lovelies! This post is incredibly late, and the photos are incredibly sub-par. My gigantic Labradane took out my lighting today, leaving me to attempt to shoot a very complicated polish with only a desk lamp. I was able to replace my lamps this evening, but not before I had to shoot pics for this post. So, forgive the photo quality. It was the best I could do with both of my good lamps busted and nothing but a light box and crappy desk lamp. :(

I agonized over today's polish...I really did. I just received some brand new, not yet listed pretties from my girl Ash, the mastermind behind Daring Digits, and one of them is an awesome flakie! But my Nfu-Oh order showed yesterday and I had ordered 2 new Flakies......I ended up actually flipping a coin!

This pretty is Nfu-Oh 52, a blend of green flakies in a Blurple jelly base. This girl is such a chameleon! In some light, the base looks like more of a Navy jelly with green/blue flakies, others it appears more Purple with green flakies. It's gorgeous in any light, and I really wanted to be able to show all of her colors, but....well, see above reference lighting fiasco.

All (incredibly badly lit) photos are 3 coats of Nfu-Oh 52, no undies.

Despite the horrible lighting and less than stellar pics, Nfu-Oh 52 is still GORGEOUS! Even a crappy desk lamp can't make this girl look bad! I do wish I had been able to capture more of the blue in the base, but if you look at the bottle, you'll get the idea.

Formula:
Nfu-Oh 52 had a much nicer formula than my bottle of 51 does! Maybe it's just that particular bottle, but 51 is thick and hard to work with, whereas 51 was actually very thin. It did thicken slightly with use, but not enough to cause problems. No issues with giant clumps of flakes either.

Application:
The thinner jelly base made this much easier to control than my bottle of 51. This baby stayed right where I put it, and the thinner base made it much easier to use thin coats. This girl is jam-packed with flakies, which is a bit irritating if you wrap your tips, but I just dabbed my tips with my fingertip and they popped right off. Dry time was average, but I added a good coat of HK Girl top coat to speed things up.

This polish is just...wow. You can bet I'm going to be re-swatching this so I can show off all her colors and take some clear pics. If nothing else, the lighting debaucle is a great excuse to wear this pretty all over again! I think that 52 is right up there with 51 for me, although 51 has a slight lead. I've shared 51 a couple times now, but I have yet to wear her on her own, so you can bet I'll be showing that one off soon!

Don't forget to check out Susan's awesome flakie post! She created a really gorgeous manicure - I swear she makes me drool with every post! Susan is also one of the most wonderful ladies out there. You're going to want to keep an eye on her blog - I just mailed her a package full of some really amazing polish. Her swatches are going to be Epic!

Despite my really wonky lighting, what do you think of Nfu-Oh 51? Do you have a fave Nfu-Oh polish?

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
