My daughter's birthday is on Sunday, and I still haven't finished shopping for her (it's actually really hard when she's with you all the time!). BG Cosmetics Holographics Collection : Space Ballerina

Hello again Lovelies! I know this post is later than expected, and I apologize. My day is full of all sorts of things that take me away from blogging and today was no exception. I still have one more set of pics to edit and one more post for the blog, but that has to be pushed back until tomorrow morning since I also have some swatches to work on for a friend. It's also starting to hit the busy season for my business, and Dex is still in his "Mommy, you must be glued to me!" stage, which so far has lasted 3 years! I can't complaint though. He's really a joy.

Tonight's post is one that I have been dying to share. As you all know, BG Cosmetics is releasing a Holographics Collection. I've shown you 3 of the 4 that Ketlyn sent me (there is a 5th that I'm working on grabbing since it's Epic and must be shown asap!), and I am thrilled to share number 4 with you now.

Space Ballerina is the Pink Holo from this collection, and it is a stunner. It's a gorgeous mix of soft pink and tons of holo particles with a linear effect. It's so holographic that in direct sunlight, it's blinding. Just how I like my holos! I want people to shield their eyes when my tips flash in their direction! Space Ballerina was the first of this collection that Kett shared with me, and it's also one of my all time favorite polishes.

This is 3 thin coats of Space Ballerina over Glisten and Glow Stuck on Blu base coat:

Oh, how I love this polish! This is one of my favorite shades of pink. Add holo and wham! Warm fuzzies all over!  And check out the holo...it's so evident that it's hard to capture. it appears more scattered in some pics, but the linear effect is very prominent IRL. The macro above is intentionally blurred to show color and sparkle, but that is the most accurate as far as color effect from the holo.

Ketlyn is a genius. I'm considering duct taping her to my wall and keeping her all to myself! ;)

Space Ballerina's formula is perfection. The consistency is just right, and I had no thickening during use. Application was wonderful with no draggin, balding, or glopping. Dry time was incredibly fast and this baby shines like diamonds even without topcoat. If you prefer topcoat, it doesn't seem to dull the holo effect, so topcoat away!

This entire collection is just amazing. I cannot rave about it enough. It's right up there in my fave holos along with my Nfu-ohs. You NEED these!

As I mentioned earlier, I'm hoping that Kett's supplies come in soon so I can show you the final beauty of this collection - the pure white holo. Yeah, I've seen it and it's EPIC!

The Holographics Collection is available for pre-order ($65.00 for the entire collection) at BG Cosmetics web site and will be available at BG Cosmetics on Etsy later this month. Be quick though! These will sell out fast. Make sure to follow BG Cosmetics on Facebook for release information. In all honesty, you really don't want to pass these by.

Giveaway WInners and new Giveaway info!

Hello Lovelies! I know I promised a Daring Digits post, but I had a bit of an emotional break this afternoon. I'm having a very hard time dealing with my mom's cancer returning, and am prone to bouts of hysterical crying.

In happier news, The Daring Digits 80's Hits Collection Giveaway has ended! The winners have been chosen and emailed. First of all I want to say THANK YOU!!! to everyone that entered. I wish that I could give you all something, but I'm already rather broke and that would take selling my car. I also want to mention that winners were selected at random, and my husband pushed the little button on rafflecopter.

Missy Robinson of Gnarly Gnails! I love this woman's nail art and her absolutely perfect nails. I just found her on IG a few weeks ago, and I'm already photo stalking her. You should too!

This one requires a disclaimer. Most of my giveaways have ended up with someone I know winning. I do a lot of challenges and know a lot of awesome bloggers because of those. So far someone from those groups has won in 2 out of 3 giveaways. Winners are completely random so imagine my surprise when my second winner was Gini from Sassy Paints! I'm still shocked! I'm also happy for her since I know she could use a win. Lately people have been being horrible and hating on her nail shape (which is also my nail shape on my right hand, just shorter) and she recently had to post a blog post about it. Holo Goodness from BG Cosmetics - Holy Balls!

 Hiya lovelies! Happy Tuesday! It's been a busy day here at KLK, hence the afternoon post. My daughter needed an updated vaccination today, so we were busy handling that. She was a trooper, although she did squeal. I don't blame her. Despite having 18 tattoos and 14 piercings, I still can't handle shots or blood draws. Not a big fan of needles unless it's on my own terms. 

We did find out that my brother-in-law is going to be ok. He had a stint inserted this morning since he had an artery that was 99% blocked, and he will be going home tomorrow.  Very happy that my mom made him go to the doctor when she did! Mom had her CT Scan this morning and now we have to wait a few days for the results. Keep your fingers crossed that it's something not related to that evil lung cancer. But let's move on to some awesome polish! 

 We all know that I am a huge fan of BG Cosmetics. Definitely no secret there!  I remember when Ketlyn had maybe 10 polishes listed in her store! It's been so awesome to watch BG Cosmetics grow. Ketlyn is always coming up with new Collections, each one more awesome than the last.  Recently she made the jump into Holographics, and let me tell ya...they are amazing. When I first saw the swatches my jaw hit the floor. These holos are incredibly intense and the rainbow is visible in most light. Impressive, right? I've already posted Nocturnal Goddess and the unnamed Green Holo (click the names to go to the original posts), but today I am sharing my very favorite from this collection. 

Holy Balls! is a purple linear holographic polish. I know you're asking yourself "why is that polish called "Holy Balls"!??". Well, when Ketlyn posted the first pics of these polishes, our beloved Sammi (from Glitznglammer) was so astounded she could only say "Holy Balls!!". I'll admit it...I laughed so hard.  I think everyone on that post agreed that Holy Balls! would be a great name for this polish, and so Ketlyn took the plunge and Holy Balls! was born. I know this isn't a name that everyone will find as fabulous as I do..my sense of humor is rather crass and outrageous.  But if you aren't into the name, take a peek at the polish itself. I guarantee you'll catch yourself saying Holy *insert random word here*. 

This is 3 coats of Holy Balls! over Glisten and Glow Stuck on Blu base coat in indirect sunlight. 

 

























Just look at that holo! *swoons* The last photo is a rather blurry shot, but it's a little rainbow on the base of one of my nails as I was packing up my photo equipment. Check out all the colors in there! WOW!!!

Holy Balls! Is absolute holo perfection. The formula is awesome - thicker than your usual holos but not too thick to control. No thickening during use and no dragging or balding, which is always impressive with holos. Application was a breeze - this girl applied so nicely that I seriously could've kept on painting for days. HB dries to a perfectly smooth and super shiny finish as well, so if you choose to skip top coat, you're not missing out one bit. Dry time is very fast as well, although I sandwich my holos anyway. I really don't have a negative thing to say about this polish!

If you're a holo fan, you NEED these. No doubt about it. The Holographics Collection is not yet available, but is scheduled for a May release (I believe - could be earlier). BG Cosmetics Holographics Collection: Green Holo! Do not miss this one! *Pic Heavy*

 Hello Lovelies! Happy Sunday! I know I said that I wouldn't be posting until Monday, but I could not wait to share this polish with you all! I'm so excited about these - and you should be too!

I recently shared one of BG Cosmetics new Holographic Polishes. Many of you are mad at me, since they're not yet available since Ketlyn is on vacation in South Africa. But don't be mad! This just gives me time to show you the entire collection so that when they are released, you know what they all look like, right? Right! So let's have a look at the second polish from this epic collection. 

This unbelievable beautiful polish is the second beauty from BG Cosmetics Holographics Collection. This polish is currently unnamed, so we'll call it Green Holo for now. Green Holo is just what it says, a soft green holographic. I mentioned in my previous post that Nocturnal goddess, the blue holo (with glow in the dark!) is the least holo from the collection, and I was not kidding. Green holo is so holographic that it's hard to capture the actual color since the holo is so strong. In natural lighting, the base color is a soft, almost pastel green. In sunlight, the green deepens and the holo takes over. The rainbow effect is so strong that it is literally blinding. Use extreme caution when driving while wearing this polish! Strangely  enough, Green Holo is less holo than the last two polishes in this collection (possibly3, Kett has one in the works that she has yet to allow me to snatch up!) It's almost impossible to avoid staring at it and drooling. Ketlyn has created some of the strongest Indie holo polishes out there, and this is her first shot at holographics. I'm incredibly impressed.

I feel that I should mention that I did use top coat for these swatches. I use HK Girl from Glisten and Glow exclusively, and it does not dull holographics. In fact, it seems to bring out the color of the holographic particles. I'm also sharing more photos than usual since this is so gorgeous that it deserves to be shown at every possible angle. 

This is 3 coats of BG Cosmetics Green Holo in indirect sunlight (Note that this is INDIRECT. Direct sunlight made the holo so blazingly bright that my camera freaked out.), over Glisten and Glow Stuck on Blu Basecoat and topped with HK Girl top coat (Ignore my skin tone. I swear I have chameleon skin and it changes with lighting conditons):

 


























*Falls over*  Wow. Just wow. I cannot tell how how deeply in love I am with this polish. I've already proposed, I'm just waiting for it to answer me. Actually, I may have to beg Ketlyn to run off to a legal state and marry me cause DAMN! 

If you're familiar with Indie holos, you already know what I am going to say. There are not many Indie holos that have a holo effect this strong. I'm just blown away. And, have I mentioned that the holo is even stronger IRL? My camera was overwhelmed by the holo in this girl. My iPhone couldn't capture it either. It's insane. Like blinding passersby and airplanes insane. YOU NEED THIS POLISH! And I'm going to be buying backups!

Green Holo's formula was absolute perfection. Perfect consistency, thicker than mainstream holos, yet not as thick as the usual indie polishes. Application was so wonderful that I could've kept adding coat after coat just because it was so lovely to apply. It flows onto the nail like holographic silk, with aboslutely no dragging or balding. I used Green Holo over Stuck on Blu base coat from Glisten and Glow, which is a stickey base coat that works as well, if not better, than an aqua base with holos.  I've found that base coat is a big part of holo application, although I can't see these holos being a problem with any base coat. 

Overall, this collection is so very impressive. I can't find one negative thing about it, other than I don't have the last holo that I cannot mention yet. It's that good. I'm incredibly picky about holos since the application can be such a pain, and sometimes the holo isn't what I want it to be. This is everything I want in a holo. 

BG Cosmetics Holographic Collection will be available later this month at BG Cosmetics on Etsy. They will be selling for around $11-12 (worth every penny!) per polish, and should also be available as a collection for a discounted price.
