Hello Lovelies! First of all, I expect some of you are wondering just where in the heck I have been. It's okay - I've been wondering too (ha?)!

Let me start by saying that 2013 has been the WORST year on record for my family. Any bit of bad luck possible has come our way. Big, small and in between, bad luck has just plagued all of us. I suppose I should just expect the rest of this year to bring even more bad luck, since good luck has just been few and far between.

First of all, mom is feeling very weak, and is looking at a possible transfusion. Her CBC was low before her last chemo, and this week has been horrendous for her. My oldest is having issues with school (grades), and I now have to stand over her to ensure she doesn't half ass anything or hide it altogether. My youngest is in his "testing the limits" stage, which is certainly trying.

The big thing that I mentioned on IG, was that my niece, who is now 33 weeks pregnant, was out walking one night last week and was hit by a car. She suffered a broken shoulder, split lips (top and bottom), broken teeth, and tons of bumps, bruises, and scrapes. She landed on her stomach, which has caused the placenta to partially detach, which is incredibly dangerous to both mother and baby. She was recently released from the hospital, and is now stuck at home on bed rest and bored to tears. She was not at fault, and I managed to get ahold of my ex-husband (the Attorney) and he referred us to a friend of his that is a personal injury lawyer and is apparently just a hard ass in court. I'm still so furious at the guy that hit her, and so incredibly worried about her and the baby.

So, there ya have it. All of that is why I was gone for a bit. I had to focus on my family, especially after my niece's accident, and I just couldn't spend my usual 6 hours a day swatching, photographing, editing, and posting. I hope you all forgive me, but even us bloggers have lives outside of polish, right?

I am however, coming back with a bang today. I have a stunning polish from Squishy Face Polish to share with you today, and it's so awesome that I desperately want to go back and wear it again.

Nebula is a beautiful dusty scattered holographic polish from the fall 2013 "Cosmic" Collection. The base color is a dusty purple, at least that's what my eyes perceive it as. It's certainly a very unique color, and I am a complete sucker for unique colors.

This is 2 coats of Nebula, topped with Glisten and Glow HK Girl Top Coat, shown in various lighting:

Wow. Just wow. This color brings out the olive in my skintone, but I care not. It's just too pretty to ignore. I love dusty colors, and the only other dusty purples I own lean more pink. This is exactly what I was looking for in a dusty purple polish, and the holo makes it so much more epic. I do wish I had some good sunlight for holo shots, but since I have to photograph at night, you'll have to trust me on this - Nebula is very holo in any light, but in sunlight, it throws rainbows all over and is so gorgeous that it's almost dangerous. So much love for this polish.

Let's take a closer look, shall we?

Not exactly a macro, but look at that baby! Soooo gorgeous! As much as I love linear holos, I still adore a good scattered holo sparkle. Love, love, love!

Nebula's formula is just epic as well. Squishy Face Polish has one of the best Indie formulas around, and Nebula is certainly no exception. this girl was not as thin as the usual holos, but not as thick as an indie cream either. No thickening during use here. Application was just amazing with no dragging or balding at all. Nebula flowed onto the nail like melted butter and dried lightning quick, even before top coat. Wear is exceptional for a holo with no chips or tip wear at over 48 hours (I wore this for a good 4 days), and the holo effect never dulled down.

I'm fast becoming a huge fan of Squishy Face Polish. These holos are just incredible. I have yet to find a holo formula that is as perfect as Squishy Face's, and I am so excited to share the other 4 colors with you. I don't want to ruin the surprise, but wait until you see the blue - mind blowing!!!!

Hello Lovelies! Happy Wednesday! I'm still working on swatches and trying to catch up. Now that nothing is going wrong, it actually feels like I'm getting somewhere!

Wednesday also means Mish Mash Challenge day, but before I get to posting my challenge mani, I wanted to share an awesome Halloween polish with you all.

I know...Halloween already? This year has been the worst year on record for me, but at the same time it has flown by. Not that I'm complaining! I live for the Holiday Season and Halloween is the start of it all in my house. In fact, I usually put the Xmas tree up the day after Halloween. Halloween also means awesome new Indie polishes! Woohoo!!!! I'm seeing so many awesome collections popping up - my wallet is already crying. One of the most anticipated for me was Love, Angeline's Spellbound Collection, and I am lucky enough to have a couple beauties from Spellbound to share with you all.

Today's Halloween Polish is "Charmed" from Love, Angeline's Spellbound Collection. Charmed is a pumpkin orange polish with scattered holo, and it's another surprise fave for me. I normally shy away from  this type of Orange since it's another shade that makes my skin tone look funky, but this polish is just so beautiful that I couldn't help but fall in love. I swear, Natosha has yet to make a polish that I don't instantly fall head over heels for.

It's also fitting that I'm posting this today - Natosha is having her baby today! I am so excited for her (although she still needs to send me her address so I can send her a gift!) and cannot wait to see his little baby face! Natosha is such a sweetheart, and I am so blessed not only to know her, but to be able to swatch for her as well. I know I'm not a huge name, but Natosha trusts me to make her polish look good, and that means the world to me. I never take those things for granted. So Congrats to Natosha and family! May your newest little one know love, laughter, and happiness every day.

And now, back to the polish!

This is 2 coats of Charmed topped with HK Girl Top Coat:

Unfortunately I was not able to capture the holo in the macro shot, but look at that color! It's actually a touch more vibrant IRL, and tends to shift just a touch depending on lighting. It's just a perfect pumpkin orange polish and a great start to the Halloween season. Even though my skin tone really wants to reflect the orange in this, I want to wear it over and over again.

Charmed's formula is up to Love, Angeline's usual standards of excellence. No thickening during use, and perfect consistency. Application is excellent with no dragging or balding, and dry time is ultra fast, even before top coat. The only thing that I do need to mention is that this is a heavily pigmented polish and may temporarily stain your nails. I say temporarily because even though I had some staining on removal, it came right off with soap, water, and a nail brush with minimal effort. I'd just double up on the base coat and you should be fine, but if you *do* have some staining, know that it's not going to linger on your nails past a hand washing. That's not even real staining to me, but I thought I'd mention it since I wouldn't want anyone to worry should they grab this beauty and find some pinkish tint left after removal. :)

These polishes are one of the reasons I'm so excited about catching up, honestly. I am a complete Love, Angeline addict and you should be too! Hello Lovelies! I apologize for my absence yesterday, as well as the lack of Flakie Friday. I've been crazy busy the past couple of days, as well as nursing an angry tooth. Fun stuff, let me tell ya!

Today I have an incredible polish from Wingdust Collections to share with you. I've been trying to hold off on this beauty until some of my length is back, but I just couldn't wait any longer. It's summer and that means holo season, so my holos are now coming out to play.

Space Cadet is a super gorgeous black jelly packed with holo and iridescent glitters and a soft lilac shimmer. This polish is one of my all time fave black holos and is truly stunning. I wish I could transport you all to my polish corner so I could show you just how amazing this is IRL.

This is 3 thin coats of Space Cadet with top coat. I took these in indirect lighting to capture more of the holo sparkle, but my camera really wanted to focus on the glitters. Just imagine rainbows!:

Every time I see this polish I just want to squee! Such an incredible holo beauty...and a perfect base for galaxy nails too!

Space Cadet's formula is true Wingdust Perfection - not too thick, not too thin, and no thickening up during use. Application was stellar as well with no dragging, balding, or clumpy glitters. Dry time was insanely fast, and wear is exceptional with no chips or tip wear at 36 hours. But honestly, do we expect anything less than excellence from Wingdust? IMO Wingdust is one of the most exceptional brands out there.

Wingdust Collections - i am yours and you are mine

Hello Lovelies! Happy Thursday! I am feeling better today since I actually managed to get some sleep last night. Well, in all honesty my body pretty much decided that I had no choice in the matter, and around 9:30 last night I just kind of fell onto the bed and stayed there for a good 4 hours. Then I decided that I was hungry, so I got up, ate, polished, and went back to bed. Much more like my usual sleep pattern, since I normally sleep for a bit after putting the little one to bed, and then get up and polish around 11 or so. I'm hoping that this may be the end of my new found inability to sleep, so keep your fingers crossed!

Today I have an absolutely stunning polish from Wingdust Collections to share with you. This is one of my very fave Wingdust pretties, but I'll be honest - Pics do not do this polish justice. I have yet to see a truly color accurate photo of this girl (Nail Gun XS's are the closest), and mine are no exception.

I am yours and you are mine is an amazing deep red jelly packed with yellow, brown, and purple micro glitter and scattered holo. In natural lighting, this polish has a beautiful almost fuchsia glow that I wasn't able to capture. In fact, she seems to change slightly with different angles, which makes her even more magnificent!

This is 2 coats of I am yours and you are mine with top coat:

*Le Sigh*! Gorgeous, even if it's not perfectly color accurate! Honestly it's not too far off, at least for articficial light. It does have more purple to it IRL, and it's incredibly vibrant. My lighting kind of washes this one out.

Formula and application were both perfect! I had no issues at all with this girl. No thickening, glopping,  or gooping and no balding or dragging. Dry Time was lighting quick and wear is excellent with no chips or tip wear at 24 hours (I even did some gardening in there!). I am yours and you are mine dries relatively smooth as well, so no need for anything other than your usual top coat. Just an excellent polish. But then again, it's Wingdust! I don't think Steph has ever made a polish that was less than perfection. Lucky for me, I still have a few left to share with you (I'm actually behind on these due to my mom's health issues. I suck).

Candied Lustre Thermal Nail Polish - Cafe Au Lait and Blacquer The Berry

Hello Lovelies! Happy Friday!!! I will have a Flakie Friday post up for you later this evening, but right now I want to share some awesome thermal polish with you.

Awhile back I showed you an awesome Black Based Thermal Polish called "Get Figgy With It" from Candied Lustre. Unfortunately my swatching was set off course afterwards with everything that has happened with my mother and the Cancer, and I wasn't able to share the other 2 thermals with you as soon as I wanted.  I know several of you were looking forward to checking them out, and I thank you all for your patience. Im starting to get back into the swing of things, although this weekend is a crazy busy time for the pet care industry, and I have to go to my mom's twice a day to give her a shot in the stomach. I am a former EMT so I get to do the needle pokes. Not fun, but at least I know that the medication is going where it's supposed to, and she says it doesn't hurt at all when I administer them. Yay!

I have 2 gorgeous thermals for you today, so let's get to it!

First up is Candied Lustre Cafe Au Lait, a beautiful Gold to Bronze black based thermal with light, scattered holo. This is the color that really stole my heart! There is just something about this color init's cold state that really took my breath away. The holo was hard to capture, but you can see the sparkle.

This is 3 coats of Cafe Au Lait in it's "warm" state, with top coat:

Beautiful! I love the vibrant gold, and that subtle, scattered holo shimmer is just beautiful.

But here's the real kicker....

Cafe Au Lait, in her "cold" state:

*Falls over* I am so incredibly in love with this color! Both shades are just stunning, and the color change is quick, maybe 10-15 seconds once your hands hit something cool. Love!

Next up is Candied Lustre "Blacquer The Berry". When I first saw this name, I chuckled out loud - great play on words! And the polish? Blacquer The Berry is a beautiful soft, lavender with scattered holo that changes to a deep, Berry Purple. This girl is a crazy beauty too!

This is 3 coats of Blacquer The Berry in her "warm" state, with top coat:

*Swoon!* Oh, how gorgeous is that purple?!?! This color is already stuning, but add that color change? *sighs*..you have to see it!

This is Blacqer The Berry in her "cold" state:

Love, Love, Love!!!! This girl reminds me a bit of Catrice Dirty Berry here. I adore the berry purples the begin with, but add a little sparkle and I fall head over heels in love.

Both Cafe Au Lait and Blacquer The Berry are black based thermal, which means that the color change will be darker and more vampy as opposed to bright, which is right up my alley. I love bright thermals, but these black based lovelies are just killer. I see backups of these beauties in my future!

Cafe Au Lait and Blacquer The Berry have similar formulas, although BLB seems a little thicker. Neither was problematic though, and I had no issues with thickening or gooping. Application was stellar for both, although I did have a tiny bit of balding at the cuticle line with BLB, but that evened out perfectly with the second coat. BLB is also on the sheer side, and if you're not a fan od some slight VNL, you'll want to use all 3 coats. These particular thermals also have a very awesome almost suede finish without topcoat, which makes them even cooler in my book. Ive shown them both with top coat here, but without they look equally fantastic.

If you are a fan of thermal polishes you NEED these. Especially those of you that dig thermals, but don't want a shocking color change or alot of glitter. I am just madly in love with these!

Candied Lustre - Get Figgy With It! Color Changing Polish

Hello Lovelies! Wow, I am so late with posts this week. It's been a rough week, and I hope you all understand that not only am I just incredibly busy, but I'm having to take some time to process.

My mother's final test results came in today. She is officially Stage 4 Lung Cancer (adenocarcinoma), and it is NOT curable. It can be treated in an attempt to slow the progression, but she will never be cancer free. Keep in mind that we just lost my husband's father to the exact same thing in March. He was diagnosed in September as we were told the same thing - Not curable but treatable. Obviously I am terrified that she won't have as long as we're hoping for. The cancer is terribly aggressive, going from possible remission from stage 2, to full blown incurable Stage 4 in 4 weeks time. It's taking it's toll on my whole family.

I know in my heart of hearts that you all understand. I tend to take this blog seriously since it's my one love outside of my family. I love blogging, and I love hearing from all of you. Next week will be better, I promise. I have a literal TON of polish to share.

The new giveaway will be up and running over the weekend. I just can't manage to get it to it right now. It's hard to keep up with my head  and heart in such turmoil. I'm also skipping Flakie Friday this week, but it will be back next week.

But hey, let's not wallow. Let's check out some polish!

Candied Lustre is a new to me brand that I came across on Instagram a few weeks ago. I was incredibly impressed with their thermal polishes, and was lucky enough to be able to swatch them for you! Today I have the first polish in the 3 polish colection.

Get Figgy With It is a beautiful bright pink (warm) to a fig colored purple/pink (cold) with scattered holographic particles. It is a black based thermal, which makes the color shift very intense and dramatic, and the colors very rich.

This is Get Figgy With It in its warm state, which is what it looked like on me most of the time. I tend to run very warm though, so your results may be different.

3 thin coats, topped with HK Girl Top Coat:

Okay, so pinks make me a bit lobstery (and I'm a bit splotchy here from having my hands in Cold water for the color change shots) - But I still adore them! This is such a beautiful deep pink, and the touch of holo makes this baby shine.

Next up, is Get Figgy With It in it's cold state. I will not lie, this was hard to capture given that my lighting set up is incredibly hot. As in burn your hands kind of hot. I had to dip my hand (bottle included) into a bowl of Ice water, submerge it for a good 1-2 minutes, then shove my hand into the light box, shoot fast, and hope I was in focus! Sounds tedious but I actually had some fun with it. I love to photograph challenging polishes, and thermals can be hard to capture.  But I digress! Let's see Get Figgy With It after the color change!

Can I just mention how much I love the color change on this girl? Look at that! Such a gorgeous color to being with, but the fig color when cold is so amazing. I spent alot of time intentionally touching cold things while I had this on.

Get Figgy With It (and you KNOW you're having a Will SMith moment now!) was wonderful to work with. The formula was nice and smooth, with no thickening, gooping or glopping. Application was a breeze and I had no problems with dragging or balding. Get Figgy With It does start out a touch sheer, but builds nicely. I'm wearing 3 coats since I tend to apply very thin coats, but 2 slightly heavier coats would've sufficed. This polish dries to a satin finish, so if you want shine, you'll want to use topcoat. I really loved this without topcoat, and will definitely wear it that way next time.
