ABC Challenge: "W" is for Weak Water Marble

Hello Lovelies! Check it out - I managed to post again before midnight! Woohoo!

Today is another ABC Challenge day! This challenge has flown by. I can't believe we're already at "W"!

For today's challenge I decided to water marble, which was a bad idea since I am so out of practice. The last time I marbled was for the 31 day challenge, which was at least 6 months ago. I need to bone up on my marbling skills since I love water marbles and can pull off some pretty cool manis when I'm doing them regularly.

I suppose It's not all that bad, especially since this is another 4 am manicure. My biggest issue was that the polishes I chose were not great for marbling, but I am stubborn and decided to force them to work. Yeah, not my best idea. But at 4 am, the last thing I wanted to do was go through my stash to find the good marbling polishes in the right colors.

For this mani, I chose Sally Hansen White On as my base ( my fave white to marble with) and used Orly Wild Wisteria and Nina Ultra Pro Lilac-ing Discipline for my purples. I added the white dots to try to offset how bad this is, but it didn't help. Neither did my attempt at small flower petals since my nails are fairly short. My pinky also came out very light, which was odd since I used the same exact number of drops and the same pattern. Meh.

So not epic, but not a complete fail. I hope. I'll definitely be marbling more often to get back into the swing of things though!

Dripping Water Marble nails-Bienvenida a la primavera!!

Hola!!
Hoy inicia otra temporada!! la primavera-verano, y para darle la bienvenida hice esta manicura.

Quise combinar dos disenios en uno, usando el marmoleado con agua (water marble) y dripping manicure, y lo hice con colores pastel ya que vienen muy bien esta temporada!!

Hola!!!!
Hoy les traigo una manicura que me ha fascinado!!! jeje no es que sea única ya que otras compañeras bloggeras la han hecho antes pero es el primer Water marble o Marmoleado en agua que hago que en verdad me gusta, y el que creo que me ha quedado mejor.

No tuve ningún problema con los esmaltes para que se expandieran, todo salio perfectamente y sin estrés jeje realmente creo que la práctica hace al maestro por que la primer vez que intente hacer un water marble fue un caos!!

La manicura de hoy la hice basandome en un tutorial que encontré en youtube, mas abajo les dejaré el video, me parecio buena idea hacerla ya que el 17 de marzo se festeja el día de San Patricio el cual es un santo originario de Irlanda, en México no se celebra pero en muchas otras partes del mundo si ya que es el santo mas festejado internacionalmente. Y con el marmoleado en agua quise hacer como unos tréboles de 4 hojas, para esta manicura utilicé estos esmaltes:

Inspired by your country nail art-31 Day Challenge

Hola!!
Yay estoy emocionada por el tema del día de hoy, hacer un diseño de uñas inspirado en mi país, y pues ya sabrán que soy Mexicana y muy orgullosa de mis raíces, aunque dicen que mis antepasados son españoles.

Vivo en el estado mas grande del país, Chihuahua, pero he tenido la dicha de visitar otros estados y ver la belleza que tenemos y que a veces los demás no ven por miedo a lo que dicen en las noticias, que es muy violento y todo eso, pero todos los países tienen sus peligros y también sus lugares bellos.

Y hablando del diseño escogí hacer un marmoleado en agua como base por que es una técnica que casi no uso pero en la que he mejorado muchisimo!! Use los colores patrios: Verde, Blanco y Rojo

• Sinful colors-Gogo girl (rojo)
• OPI-Don't mess with opi (verde)
• Pure Ice-Platinum magic base coat

Arriba del watermarble pinte un águila en color negro porque es muy reconocida aquí y se usa como sello para decir que algo fue hecho en México.Espero que les guste y si son de otros países no tengan miedo y vean las maravillas que hay aquí :D

winter scarves nails-Sat-ART-day Club

Hola!!!
Son las 2:31 A.m. y como no puedo dormir aquí les tengo el diseño de este sábado para el Sat-ART-day Club.
El tema que toca hoy es ''Winter scarves or outfits'' y como no sabia que hacer con este tema navegando por la blogosfera vi en el blog ''smashley sparkles'' que hizo un water marble que parecía una bufanda entonces se me ocurrió hacer algo similar ya que yo casi nunca uso esta técnica.
Para evitar ensiciar demasiado mis dedos con esmalte usé crema al rededor de mis dedos y creo que funciona mejor que la cinta adhesiva!! Este disenio lo hice en mi trabajo por que no tenia nada que hacer jeje por esa razón disculpen si mis cutículas no se ven muy limpias.

Así que usé colores que casi siempre veo en las bufandas, colores fríos pero alegres, parea el diseño utilicé una base blanca y los esmaltes: 

• Orly-Calypso brezze
• Orly-Mint mojito
• Nail Treats-Groovy

31 Day Challenge (v.2!) Day 20: Water Marble

Morning Ladies! Welcome to day 20 of the 31 Day Challenge!

Today's Challenge is Water Marble Nails! Yay!!! I love water marbling, despite the fact that I have yet to master the mess. Someday I will be able to tape well enough to not have to spend 8 hours cleaning up my fingers, but that day is not today. Despite the mess, water marbling is still one of my fave forms of nail art. I really need to start marbling more often.

For this mani I decided I wanted to try something other than the usual flower petals, stripes, and swirls. I started with a base of good ole Wet N Wild Black Creme. For my marble colors I used Sally Hansen Black Out (Since it works fabulously for water marbling) and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. For my design I too inspiration from the Queen of Water Marbling, Colette from My Simple Little Pleasures. Back in March, she had done this really cool star water marble. She had mentioned that when she used more points, it looked like a pinwheel and since my nails are nowhere near as long as hers, I decided to try something closer to the pinwheel version. However, instead of using 8 points, I used 10, which made it look almost like a starburst/firework on my nails.

Isn't that eye catching? My camera kind of flipped out trying to focus on it!

I'm pretty pleased with how these came out given that it's my first attempt at this design. I do wish that my middle finger was centered, but y can't win em all, right? The overall effect is pretty cool though! I will definitely be trying this design with different colors, as well as Colette's original star design. If you dig water marbling, I highly suggest checking out her blog as well as her youtube tutorials. She is amazing and I have learned everything I know (not much compared to her!) about marbling from Colette's blog and videos.

Halloween Nail Challenge 2012-Freestyle Halloween

Otro día mas del reto de Halloween y pues como lo dice el titulo hoy toca ''Freestyle Halloween o diseño libre de Halloween'' el cual consiste en hacer una manicura que tenga que ver con esta festividad pero con la libertad de pintar lo que quieras!!

Lo cual me dio libertad para practicar una técnica que vi en Pinterest, el water marble como ya sabemos es una técnica de mucha paciencia y de practica ya que a veces es difícil que funcione (esmaltes correctos, temperatura adecuada, limpieza, agua embotellada, etc...) 

Y hace unos meses vi que alguien uso una bolsa de plástico para hacer un tipo de adherible para las uñas pero con el water marble!! Se los explico mejor a continuación:

1. Primer paso es preparar todo para hacer un water marble (marmoleado en agua)
2. Después ir poniendo gotas de los esmaltes elegidos para formar los aros en el agua 
3. Haces tu diseño con una aguja(arcos, zebra, swirl, etc..) 
4. Luego tomas una bolsa de plástico (estilo las de los sandwich) y la pones sobre el diseño, el cual se adherira a la bolsa
5. lo dejas secar unos 10 minutos y luego le pones unas 3 capas de top coat o brillo
6. lo dejas secar durante la noche y al día siguiente mides el tamaño de tu uña, te pones una capa de esmalte blanco y mientras todavía esta un poco húmedo pegas el diseño del water marble y listo!!
7. mucho mas fácil y sin tanto desorden!!

Prometo hacer un tutorial con fotos!! por lo pronto espero me haya dado a entender y si tienen dudas escriban me en los comentarios!! :D

Los esmaltes que utilice fueron: Sinful Colors-inocent, Avon- Licorice y Orly-Sol Cabana (de base utilice el esmalte blanco de pure ice)

Tiene algunos defectitos, pero es la primera vez que uso esta técnica, creo que mejorare conforme la siga practicando :D

31 Day Challenge (v.2!) Day 14: Flowers

Morning Ladies! Welcome to Day 14 of the 31 Day Challenge!

Today's theme is Flowers! I have to admit, I was very close to going with stamping (I LOVE stamping and sometimes I have to remind myself that there are other forms of nail art), but I decided to try something a bit different.

It's no secret that I love water marbling. I don't do it often since it can be time consuming, but it's one of my favorite types of nail art, and I always love the results so much that I'll wear a water marble for as long as I can get away with. I actually did this mani earlier than I normally do with challenge manis just so I could wear it for awhile.

I chose to use the standard flower water marble design for this mani, but I took my inspiration from something a little different. My favorite flower is the Orchid. Particularly Black Orchids. I think they are just the most amazing flower.  Here's a quick pic of one (Source: Orchid Care via Google Images):

Gorgeous right? I love the duochrome petals on these flowers, and really wanted to try to create something like it.

I started with a Base of Finger Paints Black Expressionism, my go to one coat black. Once that was nice and dry, I water marbled using Sally Hansen Black Tie, Orly Mysterious Curse and China Glaze Want My Bawdy (oh how I hate that name!).  I chose Black Tie for obvious reasons, and since there was no way anyone would see the design had I used the actual colors of the Orchid, I decided that Mysterious Curse and Want My Bawdy would look nice and give the design some much needed contrast. I did originally try this with Black Tie and Black, and although it looked kinda cool, there way no way to capture it on camera. It was pretty hard to see IRL and I'm sure I only was able to see the design since I knew exactly what I was looking for.

The downside to this design is that it is near impossible to truly capture it with my camera. Or any camera really. Trust me, I tried several. In the end I had to use 2 very bright lights shining directly on my nails and at very close range, which made my skin look strange and washed out in some pics, but hey...I'd rather you see the mani than stare at my skin color anyway! IRL these are much darker and mysterious and more closely resembles the petals of a black orchid. I wish I could show you guys but on camera it just looks like black with an itty bitty bit of random color. Maybe this wasn't my best idea.....

Enough of my babbling explanations of why this isn't as bright IRL and my photography woes! I give you.....Black Orchid Inspired Flower Water Marbled Nails!

IRL in Natural Light these are much more subtle, but for photo purposes I chose to light these babies up like crazy so you can see the design. Most of the time they look like a flower shaped oil slick on my nails, and I'm really enjoying the effect! I will say the Mysterious Curse was rough to marble with. It made a great ring, but dried very fast so I had to make sure I dropped my polish at lightening speed and created the design even faster. I had originally intended to do a different shaped petal design, but the polish wouldn't cooperate for that due to the quick dry time in the water, so I decided this worked too. I know it's hard to see, but trust me, it's there!

What do you think of dark water marbles like this? I love it, but I think I'll end up sticking with marbles that are easier to see!

MARATON DE SAN VALENTIN-disenio #11 marmol de amor

Hola!!!!
ahh por fin se termino el maraton!!, jeje pero no lo digo en un mal modo ehh :p, me encanto hacer disenios aunque no tuve tiempo de hacer uno con 3D por mis compromisos con la escuela, mi hijo y la pasarela que les conte fiu!!

Una muy buena noticia es que POR FIN!!! pude hacer un water marble!! o marmoleado de agua, y es lo que estoy usando este dia precisamente :D
Ahora que acabo el maraton descansare unos pocos dias mis unias (seguire escribiendo ehh) solo seran unos 2 dias para dejar mis unias desnudas jeje a ver si aguanto sin pintarmelas aunque sea 2 horas :p
aqui les dejo las imagenes....(disculpen mis dedos manchados de esmalte :s tome las fotos en cuanto termine de hacer el water marble y estuve pintando otras unias)
