Challenge: Use one eyeshadow and a MAJORLY awesome beauty buy!

On Makeup Geek recently (before they decided to switch servers) someone posted a question that went something along the lines of, "If you had to choose one eyeshadow to use, what would it be?". Well I answered that question with Inglot 395, which is a highlight shade, and I would use it on my browbone and on the inner corners of my eyes.  So today I decided to see if I would actually do that.  To see if I would indeed wear just that one eyeshadow and leave the house like that.

And then I made my look even MORE simple by using one lip color!  I only have on Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in "Papaya."  I am proud to announce that my entire look took me only 15 minutes to do, which I think is like a record.  And as it turns out, my face makeup is the makeup that takes me the longest.  I know I can whip out eye makeup no problemo but I always want to make sure that my face makeup looks good so it takes me forever.

So, do you think you'd feel comfortable wearing only one eyeshadow???  Which one would you pick?  Would you pick a bright color?  A contour color?  Black?

On to the next portion of this post!
I got my June issure of Allure magazine yesterday.  I love Allure.   But I was annoyed by something they decided to pick as an "Editor Favorite"

Can you see what they picked???  Yup, that's MAC Candy Yum Yum lipstick.  Now, could you please tell me why they would pick a limited edition lipstick that is super difficult to find (and you're sure not going to find for $14.50) to display as a favorite???  It is absolutely a beautiful color but wouldn't you, if you were a magazine editor, choose something that people can actually get their hands on??  At least put an alternative in there too!

And then one other thing that I found interesting was that in this issue they showed the winners of the Reader's Choice Awards.  Earlier in the year they have you vote for your favorites in different categories (lipstick, lip gloss, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, etc.).  Each category is split into two sections, one being "Drugstore, Discount Store" and the other being "Department Stores, Specialty Stores, Spas, Salons."

The results of this for the Deparment store section I think is very indicative of how much we're told that MAC is the best of the best.  Because what categories did MAC win??  It won for Department store lipstick (Viva Glam V), lip gloss (Viva Glam V), Eyeshadow (Shroom), and Eyeliner (Technakohl Liner in Graphblack).  That's half of the makeup categories.  I just thought that was interesting.

Now on to some good stuff:
Every month Allure does giveaways where the first 500 (or some other amount of people) who sign up win stuff.
Look what they're giving away on June 7th!
I never remember to do this stuff but if you have a good memory, log on and try to win yourself something!

And now the best news of all!
I know you probably can't really read what that says but it's called "The Allure Beauty Box" and it goes on sale on May 24th at 12p.m. EST and it's only $39.99 (plus shipping and there are limited quantities).  But when you look at what is in that box, it's an AMAZING deal!!!  What comes in the box:
-Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Wash
-Aveeno Smart Essentials Pore Purifying Facial Wash
-Benefit POREfessional Pro Balm Pore Minimizer (retails at $28)
-Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Debbie (retails for $18)
-Clean & Clear Advantage Popped Pimple Relief drying paste
-Clean & Clear Morning Burst Boost body wash
-Clean & Clear Morning Burst Surge power cleanser
-Colorscience Pro Pressed Eyeshadow Palette ($35 retail)

-RoC Brilliance Anti-Aging Face Primer
-RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream
-Spornette Little Wonder Brush
-Suki Eye Lift Cellular Renewal Cream

I know I don't have retail prices for everything but I just looked at what was from Sephora (except for the Colorscience palette) and put what those products cost there.  It looks like everything is full sized so that's even better.  I was thinking that it would be samples of everything but when I look really closely in the pictures, I can see the amount of product in the containers and they are the full sized versions.

To get this deal it says "order now @ allurevirtualstore.com/summer " and it starts at noon (Eastern time) on Tuesday.  It also says there's a shipping charge and "while supplies last."  Another thing is that $5 from each purchase will be donated to the Skin Cancer Foundation.  So you get an awesome deal and help the Skin Cancer Foundation!  Can we really ask for more???  If y'all buy all of those up before I get a chance to get one, I'll be upset with you haha!  But seriously, take 'em up on the offer!

But that's all for today.  That list took way too long to type out haha.  I hope you are having an amazing Sunday!  Thanks guys!!
