Jil Sander copy cat

I'm having a cold...so, fortunately now I have the time to do a bit of fashion research and blogging - just what I intended to when I started Magnolia. Scrolling through Jil Sander's Spring '11 runway looks, I decided on three looks that I wanted to make budget friendly. Forgive me if a few of the alternatives are a bit pricey, but if so, just enjoy the pics and dream away on the clouds of aesthetics.

First look is sheer perfection for all the parties of summer. Wear it for the wedding, the birthday party, the girls' night out - anything, and feel fantasticalliscious! Watch....

And check out the cheep alternatives I found:

These two dresses are both Asos dresses. (I looove Asos!!! Cheap, great silhouettes, good fits - everything is just right about Asos). Well the dress on the left is approx £17 and the right is about £41. Both have the slim silhouette same as the original, the slightly wavy motion on the upper part, they accentuate the waistline and nestles around the hips in a flattering way. The necklines are high and tones down the sexyness of the skirt length.

The accessories are a mix of a lady like colour block hand held bag and a striped shopper. This was what I found :

From the left: asos bag c £23, asos shopper c £29 and Karen Millen bag £178

Shoes:

These are similar to Jil Sander runway look. A neutral shiny satin like court shoe. From Miss KG (on Asos) c £74,5.

The other looks from Jil are slightly similar:

I like the mix of the basic T-shirt with a jewel coloured skirt (in any lenght) and the formal shirt with a flowery maxi skirt. Very minimalistic and clever. And right to the cheap treasures:

Asos (surprise) Perfect T-shirt c £17, Topshop £35 and Topshop flippy skirt £26.

And for the other look:

H&M c £17,5, gorgeous skirt from Fairground £28 on stylecompare.co.uk, and  pointed court shoe from Zara c £53,5. It was pretty difficult to find a flower print maxi dress with the right silhouette, but this was the closest I got.

Don't be afraid to go all the way with a perfect Jil Sander makeup look:

A beautiful cool pink pout, neutral skin and eyes with a tightly combed hair gathered in a little bun at the back. One could add a bit of a wet look or just a bit of product that makes the hair shine like a bunch of diamonds. But the lips are key! Check out the £16 lipstick from RMK - Irresistible lips in B-19 Holographic cherry red:

Buy it on Lookfantastick.co.uk (or somewhere else - as far as I'm concerned, we don't have
this brand in Denmark). Pretty matte lipstick without shimmer (which will be too baroque for the minimal look).

So If this does not yell spring and summer, I don't know what will. Enjoy your budget Jil look, or do as I do: dream away...
