Hello Lovelies!! I'm finally able to post today! My not quite 3 year old son learned how to use the mouse and touch pad on my Macbook today and every time I sat down to work on this post he came over and sharked me! Right now he's eating, which means that he has stolen the milkshake that I've been craving all week and is smiling at me in the most adorable way. Kid knows his mama is a sucker.
Today I have a really awesome polish from one of my fave Indie Brands, Polish TBH! Island Fantasy is a seriously cool color changing polish - It has the same turqouise and gold glitter mix as Polish TBH Fantasy, but the base is a really killer teal to bright yellow/green thermal.
It's such a happy, springy polish, and in the grand tradition of my love of hard to photograph polishes, took me forever to get good pics of the color change! I have a notoriously hot lighting setup (I photograph under 4 5200k pro lights, and even when it's cold out I end up sweaty and overheated), so catching the base color when it's cold was really tough!
This is 3 coats of Island Fantasy topped with HK Girl topcoat when the polish is warm (Sorry about the red fingertips! My hands do not like cold water and I took these shots after the cold shots):
This was by far the easiest color to catch, due the intensity of my lighting. There is something about this green that is just so awesome! It's one of those happy color, and combined with the turquoise and gold glitters its just heavenly.
Here is the same polish, after dipping my hands in cold water for a good 15 minutes. My lights are so hot that I had to shoot fast, so this is actually not as dark as the color change is IRL. The 2nd and 3rd pictures actually show the polish as it begins to change to the lighter yellow/green:
*That* is a damned beautiful color. I spent alot of time running my hands under cold water to watch the color change while I was wearing this beauty. Most of the time my nails were half and half, since my nail beds are warmer than the tips, which was an awesome effect. I need to find some cooler lights, since I really wish I had been able to capture that!
Island Fantasy has Polish TBH's typically awesome formula - Indie thick, yet not too thick to work with. Application was easy peasy with no dragging, balding, gooping or glopping. In fact, it was crazy fun to apply since the color change started as I was painting my nails. If you're a fan of Thermal polish, don't miss this one!
