Maybelline Color Show LE Polish in Downtown Brown - Pic Heavy!

Hiya Ladies!

*Challenge Info* I will be updating links tonight. Some of the links go to google+ pages instead of the actual blog, so I will be updating that this evening. Sorry guys! Also I have to remove one person from the list since they haven't actually participated. This makes me a sad panda, but if someone is not doing the challenge, I have to remove them.  Posting dates for upcoming challenges are: Wednesday for Green Nails and Saturday for Blue Nails. I'm having a blast doing this challenge with you ladies! I'm so glad you all joined me! Thank you!!!!

Onto the post!

I picked up 3 of the new Maybelline Color Show LE Duochrome polishes the other day since I had a rockin coupon and picked them up pretty cheap. Today I am sharing the one that I grabbed soley because it was the last one of its kind, and I had to buy 3 to use my coupon. Hehe. I'll be the first to admit that I was not a fan of this color. Even after I had it on my nails I still didn't really like it. However, I didn't have time to polish my nails for almost 2 days, so this stayed on. During that time, I grew to kind of like it. I love dark polishes, and I love duochromes. I just don't really like brown very much. I have to tall ya, when I first got this on I though it looked alot like a shimmery diaper deposit!

Downtown Brown is unique to my collection. It's a chocolate brown polish with green/teal duochrome. The duochrome didn't want to come out and play on camera though, and since I had limited sunlight I took a lot of pics to try and show some of its colors.  The first set of pics is under the daylight lamp, the second is natural light and with some water on my nails. I'll be honest, the only time I really saw the colors in this was while I was driving at my nails were at an extreme angle. Then I could see the green and teal very well. Otherwise, it looked like a shimmery brown.

Details:
1 coat OPI Nail Envy Matte
3 coats Downtown Brown
1 coat Seche Vite

I really wish the duochrome showed more in this one. It really did kind of grow on me and if it showed those flashes a little more it would be pretty fab. It's still my least fave of the 3 I picked up, even with one of them being yet another Peridot dupe.

Formula:
This polish had a nice consistency and stayed where I put it. It did tend to get a bit gloppy during application, but a little shake fixed that nicely.

Application:
The only real issue I had with this girl was dragging and balding. Especially at the cuticle line. I tend to use thin coats, so this may not be an issue if you go thicker. I needed 3 coats to even out the dragging and balding near the cuticle.

What do you ladies think of this polish? Would you wear a shimmery brown?

Thanks for dropping by and as always...Happy Polishing!
