Hi Ladies! Happy Thursday!
Lately I've been trying to work in some of my untried polishes. I have hundreds of untrieds, some of them have been sitting on my shelves for over a year. They need some love, right? I figure now is a good time to wear them since I'm not feeling alot of the fall collections at the moment.
Today I have Nicole by OPI Respect The World Matte to show you. RTW is a stunning silver blue with a Matte finish. Actually, since it's shimmery I'd call it more of a Suede, but the bottle says Matte, so we'll just roll with it. ;)
Details:
1 coat OPI Nail Envy Matte
3 coats (total) NOPI Respect The World (Matte)
No Topcoat
I have to tell you guys, I adore this color. I'm a sucker for blues in general, but a silver blue? Yes please! I don't wear alot of Matte polish since I'm a serial moisturizer and that just kills the matte finish, but I really enjoyed wearing this. I think I prefer Matte polish when it's a color I'm drooling over.
Formula:
Despite the gorgeous color, the formula on this girl was a nightmare! Thick and goopy. That combined with it's insanely fast dry time is a recipe for disaster. I loved the color enough to tough it out, but I don't see myself wearing this often due to the horrendous formula.
Application:
Given the thick and goopy nature and fast dry time of this girl, obviously application was not pleasant. It took 3 goopy coats to even this lady out, which was frustrating since this polish is opaque enough to be a 1 or 2 coater tops. I did add some thinner to my bottle, but it really didn't help at all.
Unfortunately this girl is going back on the shelf until I decide that I really need to wear this color again (and have forgotten how irritating it was to apply this!). Do you have a polish that you love but has the worst formula ever?
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
