31 Day Challenge, Day 16: Tribal Nails!

Oh man, was this challenge a tough one for me! I'm not the biggest fan of tribal nails, so I had a very hard time finding inspiration. I spent hours checking out pics of tribal patterns, and nothing really stood out. Finally, while at lunch at Outback Steakhouse yesterday, inspiration struck! While nomming my delicious lunch, I glanced up at the wall behind my hubby, and there were tribal patterns! I figured that was as good as it was gonna get as far as being inspired went, so I took a few pics, and went home to work on my nails.

For this mani I used so many colors that I don't know where to begin.  I've already put them away and am way too lazy to dig them all out, so I'll just say I used a few Sinful Colors, China Glaze Trendsetter, a brick red suede from Revlon, Finger Paint white and Hard Candy Black. I freehanded the lines and weird rectangles and used my dotting tools for the dot patterns. The patterns don't exactly match the pics, but with shorter nails I have less canvas so I had to improvise a bit. Not my favorite mani, but much less traumatic than I had expected!

Here are my inspiration pics:

And here is my Steakhouse Mani (as usual, since I am a dork, forgive the cuticles. I left the remover on a bit long and that caused some issues. That's what happens when your baby poops right as you start a mani!):

Not the worst mani ever, but not my best. But I admit I had fun working on it. I'm actually starting to look forward to inspiration week so that I can translate my own ideas into manis.

Tonight is Glitter, and I am very excited about that mani! I have an awesome new Glitter from the new China Glaze Eye Candy collection to share with you!

Happy Polishing!
