Swatch and Review: Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Color Care in "Air"

While perusing Wal-Mart, I came across a new display for Sally Hansen's new Smooth and Perfect Color Care Polish Line.  They're a collection of gorgeous pastel cremes with some unexpected silvery shimmer, that scream Spring to me. I hadn't seen any of these swatched yet, so I grabbed 3 of my favorites and decided I would actually swatch something for once!

This collection claims to "Hide Ridges with a breathable, porcelain-smooth finish", promote healthier, stronger nails, Allow 20% more oxygen to reach nails, and have a streak free formula. I sat down to test this out this morning.

I chose "Air" as my first swatch, a lovely pastel blue that reminds me of a clear sky. It does apply like a creme, but the finish has a hint of silvery shimmer, reminiscent of Hard Candy's sky. Air is a touch darker then Sky though. The formula was a bit tricky, very streaky on the first and second coats, and it did start to glop up a bit on the third. It needed all 3 coats to be completely opaque. It did dry shiny, but dry time was a bit longer than expected, and the shine wasn't as glossy as I had hoped for. Of course, I'm spoiled by SV's glassy shine, so I compare everything to it. Despite needing 3 coats for opacity, the color is just gorgeous, and worth the time to apply 3 coats. I do have some ridges in my nails, and this did seem to smooth them out. I was hesitant to believe that this polish would do much for ridges, but so far I stand corrected. My only real complaint is that there seem to be some small "holes" in the finish. Not bubbles, but what looks like little pin-prick holes! I actually swatched this color twice to make sure it wasn't just me.  But enough talk, lets see some pics, shall we?

Such a beautiful blue! I can't wait to swatch the other 2 colors I picked up. I may have to pick up the rest! So far I have only seen these at Wal-Mart (I was at Wal-greens and CVS yesterday as well and didn't see these babies), but I'm sure they'll be popping up all over soon!

Happy Polishing!
