31 Day Challenge, Day 17: Glitter!

Man, it is late! I inadvertently fell asleep with Dex this afternoon, and we napped for 3 hours!!! Jeeze! I did not plan for that! Since it's late and I'm now pretty rushed, let's get right to the mani!

For my glitter mani I chose China Glaze Some Like It Haute from their new Eye Candy Collection. This is the inspired by Marilyn Monroe Collection, so I had to have it! I have loved Marilyn since I was about 12 years old and came across her movies on an old cable channel. For years my bedroom was covered in Marilyn Monroe posters, prints, photographs, and even the collectible plates. I have tons of Marilyn Monroe books, movies, in short I'm a huge fan.

I need to do a side by side of Some Like It Haute and Wet N Wild Diamonds In The Rough. I hear they are exact dupes, but I have yet to wear Diamonds, so I can't say for sure.

Some Like It Haute is a gorgeous charcoal d silvermicro glitter in a clear base, packed with holographic hex glitter. Gorgeous! The formula was actually rather dreamy to work with for such a dense glitter - went on like butter and was almost entirely Opaque in 2 coats. I could've used another coat for complete opacity, but I decided to stop at 2 since I liked it a touch sheer. The only application issue I had was wrapping my tips - dense glitter is just a PITA when it comes to tip wrapping.

Here is Some Like It Haute in the  light box, since there was no sign of the sun until mid afternoon, and even then it only stayed out for a couple of pics:

And with flash and slightly blurred to show color and sparkle. Excuse the lobster hands! My camera hate me, and I didnt have time to adjust in photoshop tonight (I hate adjusting pics, but sometimes ya gotta!):

And another bad macro! I don't know what happened here, but my nail looks distorted here. It's not really all wavy on the side. I think I'm just having a very bad photography day.

I love this glitter! Hopefully removal won't be a pain, but it's worth it for a glitter this pretty!

Next up: Half Moons! Hubs is picking the colors since it's his birthday. Let's see what he comes up with!
